      • Linear Poly(ethyleneimine)을 포함하는 루테늄 착물의 합성과 성질

        Many researchers have interested ruthenium complexes due to their similarity and difference in chemical properties. In this study, [Ru(phen)_2LPEI]^2+ complex was synthesized by the reaction of [Ru(phen)_2Cl_2] with polymeric amine ligands, namely, linear poly(ethyleneimine)(LPEI). [Ru(phen)_2LPEI]^2+ complexes were analyzed by NMR, UV/VIS, and MS spectrometry. as well as Elemental analysis. From NMR analysis, [Ru(phen)_2LPEI]^2+ complexes were confirmed by comparison of [Ru(phen)_2Cl_2] with LPEI complexes. Coordination of LPEI ligands to [Ru(phen)_2Cl_2] showed absorption at 480㎚, whereas [Ru(phen)_2Cl_2] complex alone has a peak at 370㎚. Mass of LPEI complexes was analyzed 1638 and 1898 dalton, [Ru(phen)_2LPEI]^2+ complex form MS spectrometry. The spectroscopic methods for the [Ru(phen)_2LPEI]^2+ complexes system revealed that two nitrogen donor atoms on the LPEI chain are coordinated to the [Ru(phen)_2Cl_2] complex.

      • Lactobacillus casei YIT 9018로부터 분리·정제한 Cell Wall Skeleton의 In Vitro 항종양 활성

        In vitro antitumor activity of cell wall skeleton(CWS) purified from Lactobacillus casei YIT 9018 was examined by clonogenic assay. CWS had antitumor activity against six human tumor cell lines and three mouse tumor cell lines. Antitumor activity of CWS against human tumor cell lines such as A-427, SKMES-1, SF-188, FARROW, RAJI and HEP-2 was observed at 300,800,400,700,900 and 1,000μg/ml concentration, respectively. Antitumor activity of CWS against mouse tumor cell lines such as 3LL, S-180 and P388 was observed at 50,500 and 900μg/ml concentration, respectively.       • 김밥의 미생물적 안전성과 관능평가

        시중에 유통 중인 도시락 김밥 4종류를 수거하여 미생물적 안정성과 관능평가를 실시하였다. 시료가 판매점에 도착 직후와 유통시간 경과 후에 조사한 일반생균수는 각각 1.7 X 10²∼8.9 X 10²cfu/g과 5.8 X 10²∼ 3.6 X 10³cfu/g 범위에 있었다. Escherichia coli, Salmonella, Staphylococcus aureus 및 Vibrio는 모든 시료에서 검출되지 않았다. 관능검사에 있어서 4개 시료 모두에서 판매점 도착 직후와 유통시간 경과 후 시료에서 조직감과 종합적 기호도에서 약간의 차이를 나타내었는데 이러한 결과는 냉장보관에서 유래되는 밥알의 경화에 의한 것으로 사료되었다. Microbial safety and sensory evaluation were carried for four kinds of ready-made Kimbap. Total viable cells were from 1.7 X 10²to 8.9 X 10² cfu/g just after delivered to a convenience store. After storage for 7 hours at 10℃ refrigerator, total viable cells were slightly increased with range from 5.8 X 10² to 3.6 X 10³cfu/g. No coliform bacteria, Salmonella, Staphylococci, and Vibrio were detected from the samples tested. In sensory evaluation of the samples, a little change in texture and acceptability were occurred, which was mainly from the hardening of steamed-rice during storage at refrigerator.

      • 메치실린 耐性菌에 대한 抗生物質 生産菌株의 分離에 관한 硏究

        메치실린 내성 황색 포도상구균인 St. aureus TK 784에 대한 항균활성을 나타내는 항생물질을 생산하는 새로운 미생물을 분리하기 위하여 토양으로부터 방선균의 분리를 실시하였다. 총 261균주의 토양방선균을 분리하여 메치실린 내성균인 St. aureus TK 784에 대한 항균활성을 검정한 결과 32균주가 항균활성을 나타내었다. 이중 8균주는 메치실린 내성균에 대한 항균활성이 비교적 크게 나타났으며, 이 중 1∼2 균주를 선정하여 앞으로 계속 메치실린 내성균에 대한 항생제 개발을 위하여 연구하고자 한다. For screening of microorganisms with antimicrobial activity against methicillin-resistant staphlococci(MRS), we isolated 261 strains of actinomycetes from soil. Among the 261 isolates, 32 strains produced anti-MRS antibiotics. Among the anti-MRS antibiotics producing strains, eight strains showed remarkably antimicrobial activity against Staphylococcus aureus TK 784, a methicillin-resistant staphylococci.

      • Lactobacillus casei YIT9018로부터 분리ㆍ정제한 Whole Peptidoglycan의 In Vitro 항종양활성

        In vitro antitumor activity of whole peptidoglycan(WPG) purified from Lactobacillus casei YIT9018 was examined by clonogenic assay. WPG had antitumor activity against five human tumor cell lines and three mouse tumor cell lines. Antitumor activity of WPG against human tumor cell lines such as A-427, SKMES-1, SF-188, FARROW and RAJI was observed at 300, 1,000, 600, 800 and 900㎍/ml concentration, respectively. Antitumor activity of WPG against mouse tumor cell lines such as 3LL, S-180 and P388 was observed at 100, 500 and 1,000㎍/ml concentration, respectively.

      • Lactobacillus casei AHU 1055 및 Lactobacillus acidophilus JAM 1043의 凍結乾燥와 生存率에 關한 硏究

        In order to find the most suitable conditions of freeze-drying for the long term preservation of lacto-bacillus casei AHU 1055 and Lactobacillus acidophilus JAM 1043, the growth phase, the cryoprotection medium and inoculum size have been studied. The results obtained in this study are summerized as follows : 1. L. casei AHU 1055 and L.acidophilus JAM 1043 reached to stationary phase after incubating at 37˚C for 16hrs and 12hrs in MRS broth, respectively. 2. The highest viability of each strains was obtained in 11% skim-milk for L. casei AHU 1055 and 9% skim-milk for L. acidophilus JAM 1043 as basic cryoprotection medium. 3. The complex medium contained 11% skim milk powder, 2.5% arginine and 3% glucose was the best suspending midium for freeze-drying of L. casei AHU 1055, and the medium contained 9% skim milk powder, 7% glycerol, 9% lactose, 0.5% arginine was the best suspending medium for freeze-drying of L. acidophilus JAM 1043. 4. The strong positive correlation was found between inoculum size and the survival rate in both strains. 5. When the tested strains were cultured and freeze-dried under the best optimal conditions, the survival rates of freeze- dried L. casei AHU 1055 and L. acidophilus JAM 1043 were 85.8% and 84.0%, respectively.

        항진균성 항생물질을 생산하는 Streptoverticillium sp. NA-4083의 분리 및 동정

        전국 각지의 토양에서 441균주의 방선균을 분리한 결과 Trichophyton mentagrophytes, Trichophyton rubrum, Nanniza otae 및 Pyricularia oryzae 등의 진균에 광범위한 항진균활성을 나타내는 방선균 NA-4803을 선발하여 그 균주의 동정을 실시하였다. 분리균주 NA-4803은 Gram 양성세균 4균주, Gram 음성세균 2균주, 효모 2균주, 곰팡이 5균주, 조류 1균주에 대해 약한 항균활성을 보이는 반면, 곰팡이 Trichophyton mentagrophytes, Trichophyton rubrum, Nanniza otae 및 Pyricularia oryzae에 대해서는 비교적 강한 항진균활성을 나타내었다. 분리균주 NA-4803은 생리적 특성, 항균활성, lectithinase 및 lipolytic 활성, 각종 유기물의 분해력, 항생물질에 대한 저항성, 온도, pH 및 화학저해제의 첨가에 따른 생육, 질소원의 이용성 및 탄소원의 이용성 등에 있어서 cluster group F에 속하며 Cluster No. 58에 해당하는 Streptoverticillium blastmyceticum과 가장 유사하게 비교·동정되었으나 nitrate 환원성의 양성반응, L-tyrosine 분해력의 음성반응 및 cephaloridine에 대한 저항성에 음성반응을 보였고, 탄소원 중 L-rhamnose와 inulin을 이용하는 것으로 보아 Streptoverticillium blastmyceticum과 다른 특성을 나타내었다. 따라서 분리균주 NA-4803은 Streptoverticillium sp. NA-4803으로 동정되었다. The aim of the present research program was to develop a strain of actinomycetes producing antifungal substance. Soil samples were collected from various sites in Korea and a number of actinomycetes were isolated from the soil samples by applying selective agar for actinomycetes. Among over 440 isolates, a strain (NA-4803) producing antifungal substance against Trichophyton spp. Nannizzia otae and Pyricularia oryzae was selected. The strain NA-4803 was identified as strain similar to Streptoverticillium blastmyceticum with respect to morphological and physiological characteristics, lecithinase and lipolytic activity, degradation of organic compounds, resistance to antibiotics and utilization of carbon and nitrogen sources. But it showed some differences such as positive reaction of nitrate reduction, negative reaction of L-tyrosine degradation, resistance to cephaloridine, and utilization of I rhamnose and inulin. The strain NA-4803 was named as Streptoverticillium sp. NA-4803.

        Room-temperature NO<sub>2</sub> sensor based on electrochemically etched porous silicon

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>With high-performance room-temperature gas sensors being in great demand from an energy-saving standpoint, in this study, we fabricated porous silicon (PS) sensors by electrochemically etching at different times (30, 60, and 90 min). The porous nature of the etched PSs was studied using scanning electron microscopy, and subsequently gas sensors were fabricated. NO<SUB>2</SUB> sensing studies showed that the highest gas performance can be obtained at room temperature (30 °C). Furthermore, the PS sensor etched for 60 min had the best performance among the sensors, which is related to its higher surface area and high enough initial resistance. In particular for the PS sensor etched for 60 min, the response (R<SUB>a</SUB>/R<SUB>g</SUB>) to 10 ppm NO<SUB>2</SUB> was 9.56, which was much higher than other interfering gases, demonstrating its high selectivity towards NO<SUB>2</SUB> gas. This study reveals the need for optimization of electrochemical etching to realize gas sensors based on PS working at room temperature.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> We fabricated porous silicon (PS) sensors for room-temperature NO<SUB>2</SUB> sensing, by electrochemically etching at different times. </LI> <LI> The PS sensor etched for 60 min had the best performance among the sensors. </LI> <LI> The response of PS sensor to 10 ppm NO<SUB>2</SUB> was 9.56, demonstrating its high selectivity towards NO<SUB>2</SUB> gas. </LI> </UL> </P>

        Dual sensitization of MWCNTs by co-decoration with p- and n-type metal oxide nanoparticles

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>We present a dual sensitization gas sensor for selective detection of either H<SUB>2</SUB>S or C<SUB>2</SUB>H<SUB>5</SUB>OH gases, based on ZnO/CuO nanoparticle (NP)-decorated MWCNTs. First, Cu-Zn layers of three different thickness (3, 6, 9 nm) were successfully deposited on the surfaces of CNTs by a sputtering process and subsequently converted to their corresponding oxides by thermal annealing. The gas sensing characteristics of metal oxide decorated-MWCNTs were studied in the presence of three gases, namely NO<SUB>2</SUB>, H<SUB>2</SUB>S, and C<SUB>2</SUB>H<SUB>5</SUB>OH. The best sensing properties were obtained when the Cu-Zn deposition layer was 6 nm thick. The optimized sensor showed extraordinary responses to both H<SUB>2</SUB>S and C<SUB>2</SUB>H<SUB>5</SUB>OH gases at working temperatures of 100 °C and 200 °C, respectively. Therefore, selectivity was tuned by selection of the working temperature. The sensing mechanisms of the metal oxide-decorated CNTs sensors are discussed in detail. The approach described, namely co-decoration of the surfaces of MWCNTs with different metal oxides, will be of great utility to researchers who wish to fabricate dual sensitive gas sensors.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> We present a dual sensitization sensor for selective detection of either H<SUB>2</SUB>S or C<SUB>2</SUB>H<SUB>5</SUB>OH gases. </LI> <LI> Dual sensitization was devised, where two different metal oxides are added to the host material. </LI> <LI> The possible sensing mechanisms of the metal oxide-decorated CNTs sensors are discussed. </LI> </UL> </P>
