A new higher order shear and normal deformation theory for functionally graded beams
Mustapha Meradjah,Abdelouahed Tounsi,Abdelhakim Kaci,Mohammed Sid Ahmed Houari,S. R. Mahmoud 국제구조공학회 2015 Steel and Composite Structures, An International J Vol.18 No.3
In this scientific work, constructing of a novel shear deformation beam model including the stretching effect is of concern for flexural and free vibration responses of functionally graded beams. The particularity of this model is that, in addition to considering the transverse shear deformation and the stretching effect, the zero transverse shear stress condition on the beam surface is assured without introducing the shear correction parameter. By employing the Hamilton's principle together with the concept of the neutral axe's position for such beams, the equations of motion are obtained. Some examples are performed to demonstrate the effects of changing gradients, thickness stretching, and thickness to length ratios on the bending and vibration of functionally graded beams.

A taxonomic study was recently carried out on species of the tribe Ceramieae (Ceramiaceae, Rhodophyta), following an evaluation of previously published records and on the basis of field and laboratory investigations. In Morocco, the tribe is represented by 5 genera: Ceramium (21 taxa at specific and infraspecific levels), Gayliella (3 species), and by one species each of Centroceras, Corallophila and Microcladia. Among these, there are five new records for Morocco: Centroceras gasparrinii, Ceramium botryocarpum, Ceramium cingulatum, Ceramium echionotum var. mediterraneum, and Gayliella taylorii. The report of C. echionotum var. mediterraneum from the Atlantic coast of Morocco is one of the rare records from outside the Mediterranean. Ceramium ciliatum var. robustum and Ceramium codii are recorded for the first time from the Atlantic coast of Morocco. Centroceras clavulatum is excluded from Moroccan flora having been misidentified for C. gasparrinii. This paper summarizes the taxonomic characters of these species with images and presents a key for their identification. This report is the first detailed record of the species of the tribe Ceramieae for Morocco. As a result, the total number of taxa at both specific and infraspecific levels accepted in the tribe Ceramieae for Morocco, under current taxonomy and nomenclature, is 27.
The Cost of Non-maghreb Achieving the Gains from Economic Integration
( Mohammed Hedi Bchir ),( Hakim Ben Hammouda ),( Nassim Oulmane ),( Mustapha Sadni Jallab ) 세종대학교 경제통합연구소 (구 세종대학교 국제경제연구소) 2007 Journal of Economic Integration Vol.22 No.3
The purpose of this paper is to estimate the impact of the integration of Maghreb countries into a free trade area on the main macroeconomic aggregates. By using the MIRAGE model and MacMap database, we tested different scenarios to estimate the gains or the potential losses of various plans of trade integration (Free trade area for the Maghreb countries, Custom Union between Maghreb countries, Maghreban Common Market). Our study suggests that the overall gains from liberalizing trade in goods (and removing various regulatory non-tariff barriers in the process) could reach at least USD 350 million. The increase in revenue through increases in production and wages would positively affect welfare levels for Maghreb consumers. The dynamic gains from liberalizing trade in goods can outstrip the static gains, with productivity improvements as the main driver. Our analysis shows that the creation of a common market is probably the most interesting and efficient option for the Maghreb countries.

The degradation of aqueous oxytetracycline (OTC) from an aqueous solution antibiotic using H₂O₂/Fe2+ process was studied in one 1 L batch chemical reactor. The extent of OTC degradation (20 mg/L) was investigated from a known initial pH solution, temperature and the type of catalyst (Fe2+, Fe3+) and for various initial concentrations of OTC, H₂O₂ and Fe2+. The degradation efficiency achieved was found to be very important (90.82% and 90.63%) at initial pH solution of 3 and 4, respectively. However, the type of catalyst and the reaction temperature had a slight impact on the final degradation of OTC. The results showed that the OTC removal increased with increasing initial H₂O₂ concentration in the range of 70 to 150 mg/L and initial Fe2+ concentrations in the range of 2 to 5 mg/L. The highest degradation efficiency obtained at ambient temperature was 90.95% with initial concentration of OTC of 10 mg/L, H₂O₂ = 150 mg/L and Fe2+ = 5 mg/L. Moreover, biodegradability improved from 0.04 to 0.36 and chemical oxygen demand degradation was 78.35% after 60 min of treatment. This study proved that Fenton process can be used for pretreatment of wastewater contaminated by OTC before a biological treatment.
Transdermal Delivery of Crocin Using Bacterial Nanocellulose Membrane
Mustapha Abba,Zaharah Ibrahim,Chun Shiong Chong,Nurliyana Ahmad Zawawi,Mohammed Rafiq Abdul Kadir,Abdul Halim Mohd Yusof,SAIFUL IZWAN ABD RAZAK 한국섬유공학회 2019 Fibers and polymers Vol.20 No.10
This work reports the inclusion of crocin (an active agent of saffron) into bacterial nanocellulose (BNC) membranefor transdermal drug delivery. The BNC showed good uptake of the crocin based on the swelling studies and vibrationalpeaks of the FTIR spectra. Surface morphology of the crocin loaded BNC showed that the fibrous nano feature was still intactwith no fiber damages. The crocin release via direct dissolution showed typical burst release. Franz diffusion test revealedstable and prolong drug permeation. Partition coefficient of the BNC-crocin via mice epidermal skin diffusion was found tobe 2.44×10-4 cm-2 min-1 with the average mass flux of 0.53 cm-2 min-1. This facile method of utilizing BNC for the carrier ofcrocin can be useful for administrating other water soluble active compound. Thus BNC opens up choices for the delivery ofcrocin for medicinal purposes.

This paper presents a contribution to improving an analytical thermo-mechanical modeling of Oxley's machining theory of orthogonal metals cutting, which objective is the prediction of the cutting forces, the average stresses, temperatures and the geometric quantities in primary and secondary shear zones. These parameters will then be injected into the developed model of Karas et al. (2013) to predict temperature distributions at the tool-chip-workpiece interface. The amendment to Oxley's modified model is the reduction of the estimation of time-related variables cutting process such as cutting forces, temperatures in primary and secondary shear zones and geometric variables by the introduction the constitutive equation of Johnson-Cook model. The model-modified validation is performed by comparing some experimental results with the predictions for machining of 0.38% carbon steel.

Pure anterior bilateral shoulder dislocations are rare clinical features, especially in traumatic forms. They are most often posterior, occurring during an epileptic seizure. Few cases are described in the literature, and the mechanism varies from case to case. We report a specific case of pure bilateral anterior shoulder dislocation in a 29-year-old judo player following an accident during his training and discuss the circumstances, mechanism, treatment, and prognosis.
