Development of lithium-ion rechargeable batteries with high energy storage capability are required in timely manner. Recently, it has been experimentally and computationally proven that oxides with the disordered rock salt structure can be charged and discharged in the Li-ion battery system. In particular, the high entropy disordered rock salt cathode has unique structure property, where both Li-ion and transition metal are randomly located on the cation sites. Such disordering in metal sites can migrate the Li-ion in a percolating way albeit with sluggish kinetics. Therefore, the high entropy disordered rock salt structure has attracted great attention due to its high energy density and stable structure. In this paper, we introduce a simple and effective strategy in the selection of transition metals for high entropy cathodes to achieve desired electrochemical properties.

Background: Bartonella endocarditis is very rare in South Korea. Some bacterial endocarditis can involve the kidney. This is the first report of C-ANCA positive Bartonella endocarditis-associated glomerulonephritis in South Korea. Case presentation: A 67-year-old man complained 7kg weight loss with anorexia over the past 6 months. Serum creatinine was 4.35 mg/dL. Albumin/globulin ratio was reversed and the ratio of spot urine protein/creatinine was 1.1. Bone marrow exam showed normocellular marrow without monoclonality of plasma cells. There were two old vegetations on transesophageal echocardiography. Blood cultures of two couple were negative. The renal histology findings demonstrated global sclerosis, mesangial proliferation, crescent formation and diffuse glomerular capillary walls thickened with deposits of C3, IgM and C1q. The level of C3 was decreased to 43.9 mg/dL and C-ANCA was positive. In further history findings, he has drunken deer blood. So, We examed Q fever, Legionella and Bartonella antibody test and Bartonella IgG ab was elevated to 1: 2,048. Azotemia and proteinuria were not improved though doxycycline and rifampin treatment for 8 weeks. But these were improved after steroid therapy for 6 weeks with same antibiotics. Conclusions: It is necessary to evaluate rare organism like Bartonella infection in the BCNE. In addition, if there are azotemia and proteinuria, we should consider renal biopsy to rule out the renal complication of endocarditis-associated glomerulonephritis and for early aggressive treatment.

Since the introduction of the Luminex technique to detect donor-specific antibodies (DSAs) in kidney transplantation, efforts have been made to determine the risk of pre-operative low-level DSAs. The risk of low-level DSAs can be stratified by the mean fluorescence intensity (MFI), based on the highest level or sum [1]. However, the relative amount of antigen expressed on Luminex beads for each HLA locus varies from that expressed in vivo [2]. Therefore, caution is needed when applying the same MFI criteria to each HLA locus. Accordingly, the flow cytometric crossmatch test, which detects the actual binding of a DSA to donor lymphocytes, remains an important pre-transplantation test despite recognized limitations such as inter-laboratory and person-to-person variations or false positives due to non-HLA antibodies [3]. Therefore, it is meaningful to analyze the clinical impact of pre-operative low-level DSAs determined by a positive Luminex result but negative flow cytometric crossmatch (PLNF) on kidney transplantation outcomes.
