The transient fields generated during switching operations in a Gas Insulated Substation(GIS) are associated with high frequency components in the order of few tens of MHz. These transient fields leak into the external ennearby electronics. Measurements of the transient fields are thus required to characterise the interference caused by switching phenomena in such substations. In view of the above, E-field emission measurement during a switching operation has been carried out for a 245 kV GIS model, using a resonant dipole antenna and D-dot sensor. The characteristics of the E-fields i.e., frequency spectra and their levels have been analysed and are reported in the paper. Suitability of the measurements has been confirmed by comparing frequency spectra of the measured and computed transient fields.
Influencer Marketing: College Students’ Attitudes on Social Media
Omar Dominguez,Mayra Hernandez,Thomas Lee,Joy Smith,Sua Jeon 전남대학교 생활과학연구소 2019 生活科學硏究 Vol.29 No.1
Influencer marketing is a type of marketing in which respected experts are paid to advertise a product to influence follower attitudes. With the rise of social media use among college students, this study examines the effectiveness of influencer marketing in this market segment. Using data from 150 college students this study empirically examines the use of influencer marketing and the effect on college students’ consumer attitudes on social media. The results indicate that college students’ use of social media is positively associated with elevated consumer attitudes towards brands through influencer marketing. Discussion of these findings, their implications, and limitations are provided in the research.

Mathew, Bijo,Baek, Seung Cheol,Grace Thomas Parambi, Della,Pil Lee, Jae,Joy, Monu,Annie Rilda, P. R.,Randev, Rugma V.,Nithyamol, P.,Vijayan, Vijitha,Inasu, Sini T.,Mathew, Githa Elizabeth,Lohidakshan, The Royal Society of Chemistry 2018 MedChemComm Vol.9 No.11
<P>A series of 13 phenyl substituted thiosemicarbazones (SB1-SB13) were synthesized and evaluated for their inhibitory potential towards human recombinant monoamine oxidase A and B (MAO-A and MAO-B, respectively) and acetylcholinesterase. The solid state structure of SB4 was ascertained by the single X-ray diffraction technique. Compounds SB5 and SB11 were potent for MAO-A (IC50 1.82 ± 0.14) and MAO-B (IC50 0.27 ± 0.015 μM), respectively. Furthermore, SB11 showed a high selectivity index (SI > 37.0) for MAO-B. The effects of fluorine orientation revealed that SB11 (<I>m</I>-fluorine) showed 28.2 times higher inhibitory activity than SB12 (<I>o</I>-fluorine) against MAO-B. Furthermore, inhibitions by SB5 and SB11 against MAO-A and MAO-B, respectively, were recovered to near reference levels in reversibility experiments. Both SB5 and SB11 showed competitive inhibition modes, with <I>K</I>i values of 0.97 ± 0.042 and 0.12 ± 0.006 μM, respectively. These results indicate that SB5 and SB11 are selective, reversible and competitive inhibitors of MAO-A and MAO-B, respectively. Compounds SB5, SB7 and SB11 showed moderate inhibition against acetylcholinesterase with IC50 values of 35.35 ± 0.47, 15.61 ± 0.057 and 26.61 ± 0.338 μM, respectively. Blood-brain barrier (BBB) permeation was studied using the parallel artificial membrane permeation assay (PAMPA) method. Molecular docking studies were carried out using AutoDock 4.2.</P>
Optical and dielectric properties of nano BaNbO3 prepared by a combustion technique
Vidya, S.,Mathai, K.C.,John, Annamma,Solomon, Sam,Joy, K.,Thomas, J.K. Techno-Press 2013 Advances in materials research Vol.2 No.3
Nanocrystalline Barium niobate ($BaNbO_3$) has been synthesized by a novel auto-igniting combustion technique. The X-Ray diffraction studies reveals that $BaNbO_3$ posses a cubic structure with lattice constant $a=4.071{\AA}$. Phase purity and structure of the nano powder are further examined using Fourier-Transform Infrared and Raman spectroscopy. The average particle size of the as prepared nano particles from the Transmission Electron Microscopy is 20 nm. The UV-Vis absorption spectra of the samples are recorded and the calculated average optical band gap is 3.74eV. The sample is sintered at an optimized temperature of $1425^{\circ}C$ for 2h and attained nearly 98% of the theoretical density. The morphology of the sintered pellet is studied with Scanning Electron Microscopy. The dielectric constant and loss factor of a well-sintered $BaNbO_3$ at 5MHz sample is found to be 32.92 and $8.09{\times}10^{-4}$ respectively, at room temperature. The temperature coefficient of dielectric constant was $-179pp/^{\circ}C$. The high dielectric constant, low loss and negative temperature coefficient of dielectric constant makes it a potential candidate for temperature sensitive dielectric applications.
Potential role of orexin and sleep modulation in the pathogenesis of Alzheimer’s disease

<P>Age-related aggregation of amyloid-β (Aβ) is an upstream pathological event in Alzheimer’s disease (AD) pathogenesis, and it disrupts the sleep–wake cycle. The amount of sleep declines with aging and to a greater extent in AD. Poor sleep quality and insufficient amounts of sleep have been noted in humans with preclinical evidence of AD. However, how the amount and quality of sleep affects Aβ aggregation is not yet well understood. Orexins (hypocretins) initiate and maintain wakefulness, and loss of orexin-producing neurons causes narcolepsy. We tried to determine whether orexin release or secondary changes in sleep via orexin modulation affect Aβ pathology. Amyloid precursor protein (APP)/Presenilin 1 (PS1) transgenic mice, in which the orexin gene is knocked out, showed a marked decrease in the amount of Aβ pathology in the brain with an increase in sleep time. Focal overexpression of orexin in the hippocampus in APP/PS1 mice did not alter the total amount of sleep/wakefulness and the amount of Aβ pathology. In contrast, sleep deprivation or increasing wakefulness by rescue of orexinergic neurons in APP/PS1 mice lacking orexin increased the amount of Aβ pathology in the brain. Collectively, modulation of orexin and its effects on sleep appear to modulate Aβ pathology in the brain.</P>
