Ru thin films were deposited on Ta2O5 and TiN substrates by using metal-organic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD) with cyclopentadienyl-propylcyclopentadienlylruthenium (II) [RuCp(i- PrCp)]. The thermal stability of the Ru lms, which were located between the diffusion barriers and the high-dielectric lms used as bottom electrodes, was investigated. We deposited Ti-doped Ru films to improve the thermal stability of the Ru films. We found that the increase in the surface roughness of Ti-doped Ru films with low Ti addition was suppressed during annealing. It seems that the TiOx phase formed at the grain boundary of the Ru grain inhibited growth of the Ru grain. We also improved the interface property of Ru/TiN through H2 annealing and found that the Ru-RuO2 film deposited on the TiN surface had more RuO2 phases than the Ru-RuO2 films deposited on Ta2O5 due to the different nucleation barriers for the deposition of Ru thin films.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>We report the microstructures, electrical conductivity, and electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding effectiveness of a series of hybrid cellulose papers coated alternatively with silver nanowire (AgNW) and multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWCNT), which are fabricated by controlling the dip-coating sequence and cycle. SEM images and EDS data reveal that AgNWs and/or MWCNTs are sequentially coated on the surfaces of the cellulose papers with increasing the dip-coating cycle and the coating density of the particles decreases gradually in thickness direction of the papers. This result is supported by the anisotropic apparent electrical conductivity of AgNW/MWCNT/cellulose hybrid papers in in-plane and thickness directions. In addition, the apparent electrical conductivity of the hybrid papers in the in-plane direction increases significantly from 0.17–0.22 S/cm to 2.55–2.83 S/cm with increasing the coating cycle from 2 to 10, although it is higher for the hybrid cellulose papers with AgNW top-coating layers than the hybrid papers with MWCNT top-coating layers at the same coating cycle. This result indicates that a highly effective and conductive AgNW/MWCNT network is formed on the cellulose fibers in a layer-by-layer manner. For the hybrid papers with 2.55–2.83 S/cm, high EMI shielding effectiveness of ∼23.8 dB at 1 GHz is achieved.</P>

The uteru is an unusual site for metastasis from an extrapelvic neoplasm. Metastasis of gastric cancer to the uterus is rare. We experienced a patient who underwent a gastrectomy and chemotherapy due to gastric cancer and who subsequently suffered a solitary metastatic adenocarcinoma of the uterus from the primary gastric cancer. Similar to Krukenberg tumors of the ovary, lymphatic dissemination is regarded as the route of metastasis from the stomach to the uterine. We report this case with a brief review of literature.
형개 추출물의 항산화 활성 및 Tyrosinase 저해 활성에 대한 원적외선 처리의 효과

형개(Schizonepeta tenuifolia) 2 g을 70, 90, 110°C에서 30분간 원적외선 처리 후 물 100 mL와 함께 60°C에서 1, 3, 5시간 추출하였다. 원적외선을 고온에서 처리함에 따라 추출물의 항산화 활성 및 tyrosinase 저해능이 증가하였다. 시료에 원적외선을 처리하였을 때 무처리구에 비해서 항산화능 및 tyrosinase 저해능이 증가하였으며, 특히 고온에서 원적외선을 처리할수록 좋은 활성을 보였다. 총 페놀 함량, DPPH 라디칼 소거능, ABTS 라디칼 소거능, tyrosinase 저해능이 110°C에서 원적외선을 처리하였을 때 각각 약 2.5, 2.6, 2.3, 4.4배 증가하였고, 추출시간이 항산화 활성과 tyrosinase 저해능에 미치는 영향은 크지 않았다. 이러한 형개 추출물의 생리적 활성은 페놀성 화합물에 근거한 것으로 생각되며 형개를 건강기능식품이나 미백화장품의 소재로서 적용하고자 할 때 원적외선 처리는 매우 긍정적인 영향을 미칠 것으로 여겨진다. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of far-infrared (FIR) irradiation on the antioxidant and tyrosinase inhibitory activities of Schizonepeta (S.) tenuifolia. After FIR irradiation of S. tenuifolia for 30 min at 70, 90, or 110°C, water extracts (2 g/100 mL) were prepared at 60°C for 1, 3, or 5 h. Total phenol content (TPC), 1,1-diphenyl-2-picryl-hydrazyl (DPPH) and 2,2"-azino-bis(3-ethylbenzthiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) (ABTS) radical scavenging activities (RSAs), and tyrosinase inhibitory activity of the extracts were determined. TPC, antioxidant and tyrosinase inhibitory activities of the extracts increased significantly with increasing FIR irradiation temperature of S. tenuifolia. For example, irradiation at 110°C for 5 h increased TPC, DPPH RSA, ABTS RSA, and tyrosinase inhibitory activity of the extract from 204.64 to 618.67 μg gallic acid equivalents/mL, from 30.15 to 80.84%, from 24.43 to 55.33%, and from 7.05 to 33.65%, respectively, compared to the extract of untreated S. tenuifolia. These results indicate that FIR irradiation may be useful as a processing method for enhancing the quality of S. tenuifolia.
First Report of an Apple Ring Rot Fungus Botryosphaeria kuwatsukai in Korea

Three fungal strains designated as KNUF-23-MG32, KNUF-23-YC8, and KNUF-23-MJ82 were isolated from the abnormal symptomatic apple trees during screening fungal pathogens collected in Jeollanam-do and Gyeongsangbuk-do, Korea. These fungal strains were found to have similar cultural and morphological characteristics close to the genus Botryosphaeria. Morphological characteristics were matched with B. kuwatsukai CBS 135219 but different with B. dothidea KACC 45481 and B. sinensis HMAS 246714T. Pathogenicity tests of strain KNUF-23-MG32 showed that this strain causes rot in Fuji apples. Molecular phylogenetic analysis based on the sequences of the internal transcribed spacer (ITS) regions, translation elongation factor 1-alpha (TEF1α), and partial β-tubulin (TUB2) showed that these strains are B. kuwatsukai. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report of an apple ring rot fungus Botryosphaeria kuwatsukai in Korea.

The railroad construction is connected with a variety of engineering fields such as civil engineering, architecture engineering, electrical engineering, physics, machine engineering, and so on. Relatively longterm construction and periodical maintenance are necessary for the project. Civil appeal problems including environmental issue are occurred frequently. Value Engineering(VE) process especially in planning and design phase is essential in order to solve this problem. This paper is intended to propose a systematic design VE process of the railroad construction project. Standard VE manual developed by Korea Rail Network Authority is developed. This paper includes reviews of existing VE processes in order to provide an effective design VE process of the project. It is concluded that the suggested model for VE process may be useful for establishment of VE program of organizations.
