        Effectiveness and safety of nab- paclitaxel and platinum as first-line chemotherapy for ovarian cancer: a retrospective study

        Objective: To evaluate the effectiveness and safety of nab-paclitaxel plus platinum as first-line chemotherapy for ovarian cancer (OC). Methods: Patients administered platinum combined with nab-paclitaxel as first-line chemotherapy for epithelial OC, fallopian tube cancer, or primary peritoneal cancer from July 2018 to December 2021 were retrospectively evaluated. The primary outcome was progression-free survival (PFS). Adverse events (AEs) were examined. Subgroup analysis was performed. Results: Seventy-two patients (median age, 54.5 years; range, 20.0–79.0 years) were evaluated, including 12 and 60 administered neoadjuvant therapy and primary surgery with subsequent chemotherapy, respectively. The median follow-up duration was 25.6 months, and the median PFS was 26.7 (95% confidence interval [CI]=24.0–29.3) months in the whole patient population. In the neoadjuvant subgroup, the median PFS was 26.7 (95% CI=22.9–30.5) months vs. 30.1 (95% CI=23.1–37.1) months in the primary surgery subgroup. Twenty-seven patients were administered nab-paclitaxel plus carboplatin and had a median PFS of 30.3 (95% CI=not available [NA]–NA) months. The commonest grade 3–4 AEs included anemia (15.3%), white blood cell decreased (11.1%), and neutrophil count decreased (20.8%). No drug-related hypersensitivity reactions occurred. Conclusion: Nab-paclitaxel plus platinum as first-line treatment in OC was associated with a favorable prognosis and was tolerable in patients with OC.

        Prolonging Network Lifetime by Optimizing Actuators Deployment with Probabilistic Mutation Multi-layer Particle Swarm Optimization

        In wireless sensor and actuator networks (WSANs), the network lifetime is an important criterion to measure the performance of the WSAN system. Generally, the network lifetime is mainly affected by the energy of sensors. However, the energy of sensors is limited, and the batteries of sensors cannot be replaced and charged. So, it is crucial to make energy consumption efficient. WSAN introduces multiple actuators that can be regarded as multiple collectors to gather data from their respective surrounding sensors. But how to deploy actuators to reduce the energy consumption of sensors and increase the manageability of the network is an important challenge. This research optimizes actuators deployment by a proposed probabilistic mutation multi-layer particle swarm optimization algorithm to maximize the coverage of actuators to sensors and reduce the energy consumption of sensors. Simulation results show that this method is effective for improving the coverage rate and reducing the energy consumption.

        Biosynthesis of Chryseno[2,1,c]oxepin-12-Carboxylic Acid from Glycyrrhizic Acid in Aspergillus terreus TMZ05-2, and Analysis of Its Anti-inflammatory Activity

        Glycyrrhizic acid, glycyrrhetinic acid, and their oxo, ester, lactone, and other derivatives, are known for their anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant, and hypoglycemic pharmacological activities. In this study, chryseno[2,1-c]oxepin-12-carboxylic acid (MG) was first biosynthesized from glycyrrhizic acid through sequential hydrolysis, oxidation, and esterification using Aspergillus terreus TMZ05-2, providing a novel in vitro biosynthetic pathway for glycyrrhizic acid derivatives. Assessing the influence of fermentation conditions and variation of strains during culture under stress-induction strategies enhanced the final molar yield to 88.3% (5 g/L glycyrrhizic acid). CCK8 assays showed no cytotoxicity and good cell proliferation, and anti-inflammatory experiments demonstrated strong inhibition of NO release (36.3%, low-dose MG vs. model), transcriptional downregulation of classical effective cellular factors tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α; 72.2%, low-dose MG vs. model), interleukin-6 (IL-6; 58.3%, low-dose MG vs. model) and interleukin-1β (IL-1β; 76.4%, low-dose MG vs. model), and decreased abundance of P-IKK-α, P-IKB-α, and P-P65 proteins, thereby alleviating inflammatory responses through the NF-κB pathway in LPS-induced RAW264.7 cells. The findings provide a reference for the biosynthesis of lactone compounds from medicinal plants.

        Analysis of running depth and study of combined tubing of drill-grinding string in horizontal wells

        To solve the difficulty of running drill-grinding string in oilfields, the joining pattern of two-line weight tubing combination is used to increase the running depth of drill-grinding string. There are currently few theoretical bases and systematic researches on the combined tubing. Thus, a calculation model of the combined tubing was established. Meanwhile, an experimental study of running drill-grinding string was conducted. The accuracy of the calculation model was discussed based on the experimental results. The field application of the calculation model was discussed. Finally, the combined characteristics and sensitivity analysis were studied. The results indicate that the critical condition for the optimal combination proportion of twoline weight tubing is a well depth of 1.236 rad deviated angle. The parameters affect running drill-grinding string, including frictional coefficient, running velocity, liquid density, and inner diameter. The work presented provides an effective solution and theoretical evidence for solving this difficulty.

        Temperature characteristics of indentation rolling resistance of belt conveyor

        In order to study the influence of temperature on the indentation rolling resistance of belt conveyor, theoretical analysis, numerical simulation analysis and experimental study of conveyor belt indentation rolling resistance with temperature characteristics were carried out in this paper, and the influence rules of different factors on the indentation rolling resistance of belt conveyor were obtained. First, the three-component Maxwell model is chosen as the viscoelastic model for the conveyor belt rubber material, and the viscoelastic modulus function based on temperature effects is constructed from the DMA experimental data fitting. Second, we introduce the one-dimensional Winkler foundation model to derive a mathematical expression for the indentation rolling resistance based on temperature properties. Then, a mathematical model of the indentation rolling resistance of a conveyor belt with temperature characteristics is developed in MATLAB and numerical simulations are performed. Finally, using the existing experimental equipment to conduct experiments, the experimental results are compared with the numerical simulation result. The results show that the theoretical numerical simulation results of the indentation rolling resistance with temperature effect presented in this paper have a consistent change trend with the experimental results; at constant temperature and constant load, the indentation rolling resistance increases with increasing band velocity; at constant temperature and constant velocity, the indentation rolling resistance increases with increasing load; at constant load and speed, when the temperature is lower than 0 °C or higher than 25 °C, the rolling resistance increases with the increase of temperature, when the temperature is between 0 °C and 25 °C, the rolling resistance decreases gradually with the increase of temperature.
