        Growth Performance of Chinese Cabbage using Soilless Cultivation Method

        Growing plant in potting media without soil is known as Soilless cultivation. This method is used mostly in greenhouse cultivation to increase horticultural commodities production. Peat moss is commonly utilized as potting media substrate because of its characteristic. However, peat moss price is high because of the quantity of peat moss in nature has been decreased. Recently, most of the research is conducted to find the alternative growing medium to cultivate horticulture plant in potting media. Perlite and rice husk ash were mentioned that had a potent as alternative growing media for seasonal plants to increase agriculture production due to the lack of production area. This research aims to determine the growth of in rice husk ash, perlite and peat moss as growing substrates. The method used was the soilless cultivation. The chinese cabbage was planted in the pot with perlite media, rice husk ash media, and peat moss media. The chinese cabbage was measured after 35 days after planting. The result showed that peatmoss was more potentials in chinese cabbage growth performance than rice husk ash and perlite. Peat moss had the significant result of every research parameters such as plant height, plant weight, number of leaves, plant diameter, root length, and root weight. The best alternative for cultivation chinese cabbage without substrate based on this research was peat moss then rice husk ash and perlite.

        Foreign Exchange and Global Monetary Shocks: The Asymmetric Effects of Advanced Economies’ Quantitative Easing on Exchange Rate Volatility in Emerging Markets

        This research assesses the impact of global monetary shocks stemming from quantitative easing policies in advanced economies on exchange rate volatility in emerging markets. Using panel ARDL (Autoregressive Distributed Lag) model, an asymmetric effect is detected showing that increases in quantitative easing have a significant impact on exchange rate volatility, whereas subsequent tapering does not. Moreover, the Fragile Five economies experience spikes in exchange rate volatility that are more than double what is detected in other emerging markets. Finally, the impact of foreign exchange intervention to offset the effect on volatility is significant across emerging markets and is, once again, larger in the Fragile Five economies. The results are supported using panel VAR (Vector Autoregression) estimations.

        Post Pandemic Opportunities: Sustainable Development of Agriculture Industry Through Digital Transformation in Indonesia

        본 연구는 COVID-19 이후, 인도네시아의 농업에 디지털 전환이 가져올 도전과제와 기회를 이해하는 것을 목표로 한다. 정부, 농업관련 기업 및 학계를 포함하여 다양한 배경을 가진 전문가를 대상으로 반구조적 인터뷰를 활용한 질적탐색을 실시하였으며, 주제 분석, SWOT분석 및 PESTLE 분석을 사용하여 수집된 데이터를 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 디지털 및 기술 혁신이 농업의 지속가능한 발전에 중요하다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 그러나 불확실한 수요, 원자재 가용성, 디지털화 관련 비용, 직원 교육 및 기업 목표 이해의 필요성, 기존 생산 수단 등 해결해야 할 과제들이 남아있는 것을 알 수 있었다. 한편, 디지털 전환 및 지속가능한 개발과 관련하여 인도네시아의 농업에 지속가능한 제품에 대한 수요 증가, 기술 발전, 잠재적 파트너십 및 협력, 정부 이니셔티브 및 자금 지원과 같은 잠재적인 기회가 있음을 알 수 있었다. 본 연구를 바탕으로 인도네시아 농업의 지속가능한 발전을 위한 디지털 전환의 중요성을 실증적으로 파악할 수 있었으며, 지속가능한 발전을 위해 파트너십과 지속가능한 개발에 대한 정부 정책의 영향에 초점을 맞춘 향후 연구를 제안할 수 있다. This study aimed to understand the challenges and opportunities of digital transformation in the agricultural industry in Indonesia. A qualitative exploratory design approach was employed, using semi-structured interviews with participants from various backgrounds, including government officials, agricultural companies, and academics. Thematic analysis, SWOT analysis and PESTLE analysis were used to analyze the data collected. The study found that digital and technology transformation is important for the sustainable development of the industry. However, there are several challenges that need to be addressed such as irregular demand, availability of raw materials, expenses related to digitalization, need for employee education and understanding of the company’s goals, and old production tools. On the other hand, the study also found that there are several opportunities for the agriculture industry in Indonesia in relation to digital transformation and sustainable development such as increased demand for sustainable products, advancements in technology, potential partnerships and collaborations, and government initiatives and funding for sustainable development. The study recommends future research to focus on partnerships and the impact of government policies on sustainable development and highlights the importance of digital transformation for the sustainable development of the agriculture industry in Indonesia

        Cisplatin, Gemcitabine, and Lapatinib as Neoadjuvant Therapy for Muscle-Invasive Bladder Cancer

        Purpose We sought to investigate the safety and efficacy of gemcitabine, cisplatin, and lapatinib (GCL) as neoadjuvant therapy in patients with muscle-invasive bladder cancer (MIBC) planned for radical cystectomy. Materials and Methods Four cycles of GCL were administered as neoadjuvant therapy for patients with MIBC. Although initially designed as a phase II efficacy study with a primary endpoint of pathologic complete response at the time of radical cystectomy, the dose selected for investigation proved excessively toxic. A total of six patients were enrolled. Results The initial four patients received gemcitabine 1,000 mg/m2 intravenously on days 1 and 8 and cisplatin 70 mg/m2 intravenously on day 1 of each 21-day treatment cycle. Lapatinib was administered as 1,000 mg orally daily starting one week prior to the initiation of cycle 1 of gemcitabine and cisplatin (GC) and continuing until the completion of cycle 4 of GC. These initial doses were poorly tolerated, and the final two enrolled patients received a reduced lapatinib dose of 750 mg orally daily. However, reduction of the lapatinib dose did not result in improved tolerance or drug-delivery, and the trial was terminated early due to excessive toxicity. Grade 3/4 toxicities included diarrhea (33%), nausea/vomiting (33%), and thrombocytopenia (33%). Conclusion The addition of lapatinib to GC as neoadjuvant therapy for MIBC was limited by excessive treatment-related toxicity. These findings highlight the importance of thorough dose-escalation investigation of combination therapies prior to evaluation in the neoadjuvant setting, as well as the limitations of determination of maximum tolerated dose for novel targeted combination regimens.

        Mathematical Model and Design Optimization of Reduction Gear for Electric Agricultural Vehicle

        In electric agricultural machine the gearbox is used to increase torque and lower the output speed of the motor shaft. The gearbox consists of several shafts, helical gears and spur gears works in series. Optimization plays an important role in gear design as reducing the weight or volume of a gear set will increase its service life and improve the bearing capacity. In this paper the basic design parameters for gear like shaft diameter and face width are considered as the input variables. The bending stress and material volume is considered as the objective function. ANSYS was used to investigate the bending stress when the variable was changed. Artificial Neural Network (ANN) was used to obtain the mathematical model of the system based on the bending stress behaviour. The ANN was used since the output system is nonlinear. The Genetic Algorithm (GA) technique of optimization is used to obtain the optimized values of shaft diameter and face width on the pinion based on the ANN mathematical model and the results are compared as that obtained using the traditional method. The ANN and GA were performed using MATLAB. The simulation results were shown that the proposed algorithm was successfully calculated the value of shaft diameter and face width to obtain the minimal bending stress and material volume of the gearbox.
