      • A Chaperone Function of NO CATALASE ACTIVITY1 Is Required to Maintain Catalase Activity and for Multiple Stress Responses in Arabidopsis

        Li, Jing,Liu, Juntao,Wang, Guoqiang,Cha, Joon-Yung,Li, Guannan,Chen, She,Li, Zhen,Guo, Jinghua,Zhang, Caiguo,Yang, Yongqing,Kim, Woe-Yeon,Yun, Dae-Jin,Schumaker, Karen S.,Chen, Zhongzhou,Guo, Yan American Society of Plant Biologists 2015 The Plant cell Vol.27 No.3

<P>Arabidopsis protein NCA1 interacts with catalases in the cytosol and increases catalase activity through maintaining catalase folding state, which is required for stress responses.</P><P>Catalases are key regulators of reactive oxygen species homeostasis in plant cells. However, the regulation of catalase activity is not well understood. In this study, we isolated an <I>Arabidopsis thaliana</I> mutant, <I>no catalase activity1-3</I> (<I>nca1-3</I>) that is hypersensitive to many abiotic stress treatments. The mutated gene was identified by map-based cloning as NCA1, which encodes a protein containing an N-terminal RING-finger domain and a C-terminal tetratricopeptide repeat-like helical domain. NCA1 interacts with and increases catalase activity maximally in a 240-kD complex in planta. In vitro, NCA1 interacts with CATALASE2 (CAT2) in a 1:1 molar ratio, and the NCA1 C terminus is essential for this interaction. CAT2 activity increased 10-fold in the presence of NCA1, and zinc ion binding of the NCA1 N terminus is required for this increase. NCA1 has chaperone protein activity that may maintain the folding of catalase in a functional state. NCA1 is a cytosol-located protein. Expression of <I>NCA1</I> in the mitochondrion of the <I>nca1-3</I> mutant does not rescue the abiotic stress phenotypes of the mutant, while expression in the cytosol or peroxisome does. Our results suggest that NCA1 is essential for catalase activity.</P>

        Juntao Li,Yingmin Jia,Junping Du,Fashan Yu 제어로봇시스템학회 2009 제어로봇시스템학회 국제학술대회 논문집 Vol.2009 No.8

This paper proposes an adaptive multi-classs upport vector machine for simultaneous microarray classification and gene selection. By evaluating the gene ranking significance, the adaptive multi-class support vector machine is shown to encourage an adaptive grouping effect in the process of building classifiers, thus leading as parse multi-classifiers with enhanced interpretability. Based on a reasonablec orrelation between the two regularization parameters, an efficient solution path algorithm is developed for solving the proposed support vector machine. Experiments performed on the leukaemia data set are provided to verify the obtained results.

Consensus Seeking of Multi-agent Systems from an Iterative Learning Perspective

        Juntao Li,Yadi Wang,Huimin Xiao 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2016 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.14 No.5

The consensus seeking problems for both discrete and continuous multi-agent networks are discussedfrom an iterative learning perspective. It is shown that the consensus seeking process can be viewed as an iterativelearning process for agents under directed networks to improve their performances from time to time in order toachieve consensus. If a desired consensus state is specified, then the multi-agent system can be guaranteed toreach consensus through reducing the tracking error between each agent’s state and the desired consensus statemonotonically to zero with respect to the increasing of time. If there is no desired consensus state, then the agentscan achieve consensus through reducing their states monotonically to the minimum quantity with increasing time. Simulations illustrate the observed results.

Infrared Semiconducting Transition-Metal Dichalcogenide Lasing with a Silicon Nanocavity

        Hongji Li,Hanlin Fang,Jianling Xiao,Juntao Li,Yue Wang 한국물리학회 2018 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.73 No.3

The remaining challenge for silicon photonics is creating a light-emitter on chip. Recently, a special group of two-dimensional materials, semiconducting transition-metal dichalcogenides, have been developed. These materials demonstrate unique electronic properties and excellent optoelectronic performance, opening up new possibilities to finally overcome this challenge. In this letter, we report a novel nano-scale silicon laser source, which was achieved by combining a far-field optimized silicon photonic crystal cavity and a two-dimensional gain material, tri-layer molybdenum ditelluride. When an optical continuous-wave pump was employed, the maximum lasing output power obtained was at a wavelength of 1080 nm. Such output power shows that this novel source has great potential for use in on-chip optical communication.

Physicochemical properties and energy content of yellow dent corn from different climatic origins in growing pigs

        Wenxuan Dong,Juntao Li,Zhongchao Li,Shuo Zhang,Xiaozhen Li,Chundi Yang,Ling Liu,Shuai Zhang 아세아·태평양축산학회 2020 Animal Bioscience Vol.33 No.11

Objective: The objective of this study was to determine the digestible energy (DE) and metabolizable energy (ME) of yellow dent corn sourced from different meteorological origins fed to growing pigs and develop equations to predict the DE and ME of yellow dent corn from southwestern China. Methods: Sixty crossbred barrows were allotted to 20 treatments in a triplicate 20×2 incomplete Latin square design with 3 replicated pigs per dietary treatment during 2 consecutive periods. Each period lasted for 12 days, and total feces and urine during the last 5 days of each period were collected to calculate the energy contents. Results: On dry matter (DM) basis, the DE and ME in 20 corn grain samples ranged from 15.38 to 16.78 MJ/kg and from 14.93 to 16.16 MJ/kg, respectively. Selected best-fit prediction equations for DE and ME (MJ/kg DM basis) for yellow dent corn (n = 16) sourced from southwestern China were as follows: DE = 28.58–(0.12×% hemicellulose)+(0.35×% ether extract)–(0.83×MJ/kg gross energy)+(0.20×% crude protein)+(0.49×% ash); ME = 30.42–(0.11×% hemicellulose)+(0.31×% ether extract)–(0.81×MJ/kg gross energy). Conclusion: Our results indicated that the chemical compositions, but not the meteorological conditions or physical characteristics could explain the variation of energy contents in yellow dent corn sourced from southwestern China fed to growing pigs.

Impact of Grafting Density on the Self-Assembly and Hydrophilicity of Succinylated Collagen

        Wenxin Wang,Feiyi Shu,Lingyu Pan,Shanshan Huang,Xiao Tu,Ping Li,Siman Li,Yuanyuan Li,Chengzhi Xu,Yang Sun,Juntao Zhang,Haibo Wang 한국고분자학회 2020 Macromolecular Research Vol.28 No.6

Modification of protein could give their new functionality but would affect their intrinsic property and activity. In this paper, a series of succinylated collagen (SCol(n/1)) (n≥1) were prepared by modification of collagen with succinic anhydride at different molar ratio to amino groups amount of collagen. The impact of grafting density on the intrinsic self-assembly and additional hydrophilicity of succinylated collagen was explored. The results revealed that excessive grafting density of succinylated collagen would improve their hydrophilicity but weaken their self-assembly property, although the triple helix of collagen could be reserved after succinylation. SCol(1/1) (grafting density of 17%) with self-assembly property and good hydrophilicity was chosen to compare with native collagen. Compared to native collagen, thermostability of SCol(1/1) decreased slightly, however, SCol(1/1) could form softer hydrogel, which was more favorable for the proliferation of NIH/3 T3. The present work would help us to further understand the importance of grafting density for the design of modified collagen with intrinsic self-assembly property and additional new functionality.

      • Effect of control route on the unstart/restart characteristics of an over-under TBCC inlet

        Li, Nan,Chang, Juntao,Tang, Jingfeng,Yu, Daren,Bao, Wen,Song, Yanping Techno-Press 2018 Advances in aircraft and spacecraft science Vol.5 No.4

Numerical simulations have been conducted to study the unstart/restart characteristics of an over-under turbine-based combined-cycle propulsion system (TBCC) inlet during the inlet transition phase. A dual-solution area exists according to the Kantrowitz theory, in which the inlet states may be different even with the same input parameters. The entire transition process was divided into five stages and the unstart/restart hysteresis loop for each stage was also obtained. These loops construct a hysteresis surface which separates the operating space of the engine into three parts: in which a) inlet can maintain a started state; b) inlet keeps an unstarted state; c) inlet state depends on its initial state. During the transition, the operation of the engine follows a certain order with different backpressures and splitter angles, namely control route, which may result in disparate inlet states. Nine control routes with different backpressures and transition stages were designed to illuminate the route-dependent behavior of the inlet. The control routes operating towards the unstart boundary can make the inlet transit from a started state into an unstarted one. But operating backward the same route cannot make the inlet restart, additional effort should be made.

Secure Electronic Ticketing System based on Consortium Blockchain

( Xuelian Li ),( Jie Niu ),( Juntao Gao ),( Yue Han ) 한국인터넷정보학회 2019 KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Syst Vol.13 No.10

In electronic ticketing system, the malicious behavior of scalpers damages the customer’s interest and disturbs the normal order of market. In order to solve the problem of scalpers, we took two steps. Firstly, we established the electronic ticketing system based on the consortium blockchain (CB-ETS). By establishing CB-ETS, we can make the ticketing market develop better in a controlled environment and be managed by the members in the consortium blockchain. Secondly, we put forward a kind of taxation mechanism for suppressing scalpers based on CB-ETS. Together with the regulatory mechanism, our scheme can effectively reduce the scalpers’ profits and further inhibit scalpers. Through the above two steps, the scheme can effectively resist the malicious behavior of scalpers. Among them, in the process of transferring tickets, we optimized the transfer mechanism to achieve a win-win situation. Finally, we analyzed the security and efficiency of our scheme. Our scheme realizes the anonymity through the mixed currency protocol based on ring signature and guarantees the unforgeability of tickets by multi-signature in the process of modifying the invalidity of tickets. It also could resist to Dos attacks and Double-Spending attacks. The efficiency analysis shows that our scheme is significantly superior to relevant works.

Simultaneous activation of KHSO5 and BuOOH by iron octacarboxyphthalocyanine loaded on fly ash microspheres to boost pollutant degradation

        Dapeng Li,Peng Zhang,Jiangtao Duan,Yaxin Wu,Na Ding,Zhenyu Wan,Longqi Chen,Jingli Xu,Suxiang Ge,Juntao Ma 한국공업화학회 2022 Journal of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Vol.114 No.-

Utilization of fly ash (FA) wastes as the carriers of catalysts for the environmental application is an economicand practical strategy for their low cost, easy accessibility and thermal stability. However, mostcatalysts immobilized on fly ash were metal or metal oxides, some potential catalysts such as metalphthalocyanine complexes have not been reported upon their heterogeneous catalysis with FA as the carriers. In this paper, highly active iron octacarboxyphthalocyanine were immobilized onto the bird nestlikesurfaces of fly ash microspheres after NaOH activation. It is noted that the FeOCPc@FA compositeswith only 2 wt.% exhibited the high catalytic efficiency in the organic dye degradation. The high concentrationof 30 mg/L rhodamine B and methylene blue could be fast decolorized in the presence ofFeOCPc@FA–2 % and KHSO5. Moreover, the ultrafast decolorization of these dyes could be observed inthe catalytic system composed of FeOCPc@FA–2 %, KHSO5 and BuOOH (tert-butyl hydroperoxide). Simultaneous activation of KHSO5 and BuOOH could be realized in our designed catalytic system. Based on the structural characterizations of composites and active species generated during the catalyticprocesses, the probable generation pathway of metal–oxygen active species and various radicals wereanalyzed to explicate the catalytic mechanism. Our investigation provides a high efficiency, low costand environmentally friendly strategy for advanced oxidation treatment of organic pollutants.
