Two polymer-Cu(Ⅱ) complexes with polyethyleneimine(PEI) or polypropyleneimine(PPI) as ligand, Cu(PEI)Cl₂and Cu(PPI)Cl₂, were prepared and their catalytic activities on the aerobic oxidation reaction of L-ascorbic acid(LAA) were investigated and compared with those of corresponding monomeric complexes, Cu(en)₂Cl₂ and Cu(pn)₂Cl₂. It was observed that the catalytic activity of Cu(PEI)Cl₂ was twice as large as that of Cu(en)₂Cl₂, which was a little larger than Cu(pn)₂Cl₂ in the catalytic activity and that the rate of reaction was a zero order reaction in regard to the concentration of the residual LAA in the reaction mixture. Cu(PPI)Cl₂was found to retard the aerobic oxidation of LAA. On the basis of structural analysis by means of visible spectroscopy, the catalytic activity of these Cu(Ⅱ) complexes is assumed to depend on the bond strength between the ligand and the copper ion.

Generally, pyridine and most of substituted pyridines act as base in aqueous solutions. The strengths of their basicities can be expressed quantitatively by the dissociation constant of base or its conjugated acid. Generally, the acidity of substituted pyridines can be expressed by K_a of the following reaction. ◁그림삽입▷(원문을 참조하세요) The dissociation constants of these subtituted pyridines have not been reported under high pressure but under atmospheric pressure. In this papers, the dissociation constants of some substituted pyridines were measured under high pressure by the conductometry. From the ionic conductivity of hydrogen ion, the dissociation constants(K_a) were calculated. The K_a values were increased with increasing temperature and were decreased with increasing pressure. The characteristics of dissociation process of some substituted pyridines were deduced from the thermodynamic properties calculated from the dissociation constants.

The purpose of this study was to investigate nurses' preference and satisfaction about nursing uniforms. 284 nurses responded to a questionnaire. Data were analyzed using frequency rate and chi-square test. The results indicated that nurses prefer two-piece or pants type to one-piece type uniform. They are satisfies with the color of present uniforms and shoes, which is white. They are not satisfied with material. They want new material which doesn't cause static electricity and which has good absorptiveness and ventilation. They prefer not to be restrained by rules about whether they wear caps or not.

Cr(Ⅲ), Co(Ⅱ), Ni(Ⅱ) and Cu(Ⅱ) complexes with polyethyleneimine(PEI) as ligands have been prepared in absolute ethanol, and the structures of the complexes were chracterized by reflectance and infrared spectra. The structures of obtained complexes were pendant-type and polymer chelate type. [Cr(H₂O)₄ CI(PEI)CI₂] with pendant-type was insoluble in organic solvents, acids, DMF and DMSO, another complexes, [Co(PEI)]CI₂ [Ni(PEI)]CI₂ and [Cu(PEI)]CI₂ with polymer chelate were soluble in water. Especially, in aqueous solution, chlorides of [Ni(PEI)]CI₂ was substituted by H₂O.

Ni(Ⅱ) complexes with polyethyleneimine(PEI) as ligands were prepared in absolute ethanol by varying PEI/Ni(Ⅱ) mole ratio. The effects of PEI/Ni(Ⅱ) mole ratio and reaction temperature on the yield of the resulting complexes were investigated. It was observed that two types of octahedral complexes, [Ni(PEI)Cl₂] and [Ni(PEI)]Cl₂were obtained by varying PEI/Ni(Ⅱ) mole ratio from 0.5 to 7.0, and he structures of the complexes were characterized by ir and uv spectroscopy. The solubility behavior of the complexes in various organic and ionic aqueous solutions were also studied.

Wilkinson-type Rh(Ⅰ) complexes containing 1,5-cyclooctadiene and optically active aminophosphines such as trans-(1R,2R)-1,2-bis[N-methyl(diphenylphosphino)amino]cyclohexane(L₁), trans-(1R,2R)-1,2-bis[(diphenylphosphino)amino]cyclohexane(L₂), (R)-1,2-bis[N-methyl(diphenylphosphino)amino]propane(L₃),(R)-1,2-bis[(diphenylphosphino)amino]propane(L₄), which were used as homogeneous catalysts with stereoselectivity in asymmetric hydrogenation reaction for olefins, were prepared and the bond character of Rh(Ⅰ) ion and phosphorus atom in aminophosphines and of Rh(Ⅰ) ion and 1,5-cyclooctadiene were studied by means of IR spectroscopy.

We evaluated the attitudes towards cancer patients in third year medical students who did not receive a lecture before starting the poly-clinic education about radiation oncology in our medical school. We obtained a total of 142 answers from the students that completed the questionnaire of the following. 1) Should the patient be notified of the terminal cancer? The patient should be notified of terminal cancer in 95.1%, 91.6%, and 85.9% from the point of view of a patient, a doctor, and patients' families, respectively. 2) Who should notify the patient that the disease is terminal cancer? Doctor(53.3%), professor(22.2%). fami1y(17.1%). fnend(2.2%), and others(2.2%), respectively. 3) Do you have any experience of anticancer treatment with an intimate person? Yes(42.3%), No(56.3%). 4) Did the patient know about the cancer? Yes(81.6%), guess (15.0%). no(1.7%). 5) Do you wish to prolong the survival time from 1 year to 3 years with long courses of chemotherapy and radiation therapy? No(56.3%), yes(40.2%). 6) The attitude about marriage in the situation of engaged status and recently diagnosed cancer. As an engaged person: marry(30.3%), delay(43%). don't marry(23.9%). As family of a cancer patient who is engaged: marry(9.1%), delay(43.7%), don't marry(38,7%). As a cancer patient: marry(2.8%). delay (27.5%), don't marry(67.6%). The results of this study necessitate the education about the following: emotional state of cancer patients, decision about informing the patient of the true diagnosis, the method and timing of informing, sharing bad news with patients, and control of anxiety as a doctor. The students expressed pessimism about anticancer treatment. Therefore, the exact results and positive aspects of anti-cancer treatment should be emphasized more during the lecture and poly-clinic education about radiation oncology in our medical school.
고분자-금속착물(Ⅳ)ㆍPolypropyleneimine-Ni(Ⅱ) 착물의 촉매활성도

이상의 실험결과로 보아 중합체 리간드 사슬에 치환기가 있거나, 분자량이 큰 중합체 리간드는 금속착물의 촉매작용을 증가시키는 것을 알 수 있으며, 치환기의 크기를 변화시키거나 증합체의 분자량을 조절함으로써 금속착물의 촉매작용을 조절할 수 있다는 것을 알 수 있다. 메틸기보다 더 큰 알킬기(에틸,n-프로필 등)를 가졌거나 여러가지 분자량을 가진 중합체 리간드로 된 금속착물의 합성 및 촉매활성도 조사가 현재 진행중에 있으며 이 실험결과는 이미 합성된 PPI 리간드의 분자량과 함께 다음의 완보에 발표될 것이다.
