The Embodiment of Real Life Picture Library of 3D Oriental Painting with Time-Lapse Photographing

Time-Lapse photography refers to taking pictures of changes of an object or nature that take place for an extended duration based on a standard time interval. Since the images have the advantage of showing in compressed time and rapidly the changes that have taken place over an extended course of time, they are widely utilized in documentaries, advertisements, movies, etc. Especially, time-lapse photography in reference to natural changes is widely used in the field of science education. The presented study provides time-lapse photography of the blooming process of flowers from among the many changes observable in nature by treating the background and controls the value of the key in order to be able to delete the background. Because the images of real life picture of flowers which have a deleted background can be freely synthesized not only in a 2D space but also in a 3D space, it is possible to realize a 3D real life picture library of flowers, which constitutes one of the components of oriental painting.

미디어산업의 각종 프로그램이나 쇼, 그리고 영화의 도입부에는 타이틀을 통해 주제의 이미지를 상징적으로 표현한다. 최근에는 다양한 캘리그라피를 타이틀에 적용하고 있으며 이는 실사 영상과의 합성을 통해 하나의 장르로 발전해 가고 있다. 본 연구에서는 실사 동영상으로 자연에서 촬영한 야생화의 배경을 특수기법으로 지워내고 비트맵 캘리그라피를 벡터방식으로 이미지를 처리하여 누구나 쉽고 간편하게 타이틀을 구현할 수 있는 기법을 제안한다.

미속촬영이라고 부르는 저속촬영은 장시간에 걸친 사물이나 자연의 변화를 어떤 기준이 되는 시간의 간격을 두고 촬영하고 이를 편집과정을 통해 재조립함으로써 긴 시간의 변화를 매우 짧은 시간 속에 빠르게 보여주는 장점이 있다. 이러한 장점으로 인해 TV 다큐멘터리 뿐만 아니라 최근에는 이를 응용하여 광고나 영화에까지 널리 사용되고 있다. 특히 자연의 변화에 대한 시간 압축은 피사체의 변화과정을 영상으로 보여주는 과학교육 분야에 널리 이용되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 다양한 자연의 변화 중 꽃의 개화과정을 미속촬영으로 획득하고, 이 영상의 배경을 특수효과인 Key를 이용하여 삭제한 후 3D 공간에서 재조립 함으로써 동양화 구성요소 중 실사 촬영한 꽃에 대한 라이브러리를 구축해 실사 3차원 동양화 제작을 가능하게 한다.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>A new phenothiazine derivatives of an ionic small molecules were synthesized and its photo- and electrochemical properties were evaluated. The compounds NPzN and PPzP exhibits good thermal stabilities and shows positive solvatochromism upon increasing the polarity of the solvents. The single-component electroluminescence devices were fabricated from solution by incorporating both the emitters. Light-emitting electrochemical cell devices exhibited green color electroluminescence for both the compounds with the CIE coordinates of (0.28, 0.43) and (0.32, 0.41). These results indicate that phenothiazine derivatives have a promising prospect in the application of solution processed green LECs.</P> <P><B>Graphical abstract</B></P> <P>Light-emitting electrochemical cells based phenothiazine derivatives were fabricated. <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>In order to evaluate water quality and biological productivity, observation data sets were collected and analyzed in Yeongsan River Estuary, Korea. We also set up a numerical model to resolve hydrodynamics and fate of water quality variables in the system. Results show that most of nutrients loading are trapped in the lake and higher concentrations of nutrients and organic matters (OM) are present only inside of the artificial sea dike. There exist episodial discharges at the dam, which coincide mostly with rainfall events during summer monsoon periods. During this discharge event, lower salinity and higher suspended solids, nutrients, and OM are observed in surface layer of the estuarine section. Hydrodynamic model results show that circulation in the estuarine section is governed by freshwater discharge from the lake, resulting in an enhanced two-layer estuarine circulation being dominated, during and after the freshwater is discharged. Such two-layer estuarine circulation combined with higher concentration of nutrients in the surface layer results in that outfluxes of nutrients in the surface layer dominate over the influxes in the bottom layer during summer high precipitation periods. Meanwhile, numerical dye experiment results show that the discharged water with elevated nutrients levels have a short residence time (∼5–10 days) in the estuarine section. Due to this fast flushing rate, excessive nutrient loadings are not used to produce biological matters in the estuarine section. <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>The Yellow Sea is a shallow marginal sea with a large tidal range. In this study, ten areas located along the western coast of the Korean Peninsula are investigated with respect to remotely sensed water quality indicators derived from NASA MODIS aboard of the satellite Aqua. We found that there was a strong seasonal trend with spatial heterogeneity. In specific, a strong six-month phase-lag was found between chlorophyll-a and total suspended solid owing to their inversed seasonality, which could be explained by different dynamics and environmental settings. Chlorophyll-a concentration seemed to be dominantly influenced by temperature, while total suspended solid was largely governed by local tidal forcing and bottom topography. This study demonstrated the potential and applicability of satellite products in coastal management, and highlighted find that remote-sensing would be a promising tool in resolving orthogonality of large spatio-temporal scale variabilities when combining with proper time series analyses.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> Spatio-temporal structures of water quality in entire west coast of Korea were addressed. </LI> <LI> Strong seasonal trend of water quality with spatial heterogeneity was found. </LI> <LI> A six month phase-lag was found between Chl-a and TSS. </LI> <LI> Chl-a was possibly teleconnected with ENSO events negatively. </LI> <LI> Remote sensing technique was useful in coastal management of water quality. </LI> </UL> </P>

Endothelial progenitor cells (EPCs) and outgrowth endothelial cells (OECs) play a pivotal role in vascular regeneration in ischemic tissues; however, their therapeutic application in clinical settings is limited due to the low quality and quantity of patient-derived circulating EPCs. To solve this problem, we evaluated whether three priming small molecules (tauroursodeoxycholic acid, fucoidan, and oleuropein) could enhance the angiogenic potential of EPCs. Such enhancement would promote the cellular bioactivities and help to develop functionally improved EPC therapeutics for ischemic diseases by accelerating the priming effect of the defined physiological molecules. We found that preconditioning of each of the three small molecules significantly induced the differentiation potential of $CD34^+$ stem cells into EPC lineage cells. Notably, long-term priming of OECs with the three chemical cocktail (OEC-3C) increased the proliferation potential of EPCs via ERK activation. The migration, invasion, and tube-forming capacities were also significantly enhanced in OEC-3Cs compared with unprimed OECs. Further, the cell survival ratio was dramatically increased in OEC-3Cs against $H_2O_2$-induced oxidative stress via the augmented expression of Bcl-2, a pro-survival protein. In conclusion, we identified three small molecules for enhancing the bioactivities of ex vivo-expanded OECs for vascular repair. Long-term 3C priming might be a promising methodology for EPC-based therapy against ischemic diseases.
