        Microstructure Distribution and Grain Coarsening Model of GCr15 Steel in the Laser Surface Treatment

        The GCr15 steel was subjected to laser surface treatment using a diode laser with rectangular spot. Based on the simulatedtemperature field, the microstructure distribution of the laser hardened layer was analyzed, and an empirical equation wasproposed to predict the peak temperature at different depths. The results indicated that with the decrease of depth, the peaktemperature increased exponentially, and the peak temperature at different depths was approximately linear with the powerdensity and the reciprocal of square root of scanning speed. High peak temperature led to the coarsening of grain and thesignificant dissolution of cementite near the surface of hardened layer. At the deeper position of hardened layer, the prioraustenite grain size decreased slightly due to high nucleation rate. The cementite dissolution and coarsening occurred simultaneouslynear the surface, and the cementite dissolution process was postponed due to the significant enrichment of Cr nearthe interface of austenite and cementite. Additionally, an empirical model about grain coarsening was established, which canbe used to predict the prior austenite grain size near the surface during the laser surface treatment.

      • RPSA Gene Mutants Associated with Risk of Colorectal Cancer among the Chinese Population

        The primary aim of this study was to evaluate the relationship of single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in ribosomal protein SA (RPSA) gene with colorectal cancer (CRC). A case-control study including 388 controls and 387 patients with CRC was conducted in a Chinese population. Information about socio-demography and living behavior factors was collected by a structured questionnaire. Three SNPs (rs2133579, rs2269349, rs7641291) in RPSA gene were genotyped by Illumina SnapShot method. Multiple logistic regression models were used for assessing the joint effects between tea consumption and SNPs on CRC. The subjects with rs2269349 CC genotype had a decreased risk for CRC (OR=0.60; 95%CI = 0.37-0.99), compared with TT/CT genotype after adjustment for covariates. A similar association of rs2269349 with rectal cancer was observed (OR=0.49; 95%CI=0.24-1.00). Further analyses indicated that this SNP could modify the protective effect of tea drinking on CRC. Among the subjects with rs2269349 TT/CT or rs2133579 AA/GA, there was a marginal significantly lower risk of CRC (OR and 95%CI: 0.63 and 0.39-1.01 for rs2269349; 0.64 and 0.40-1.02 for rs2133579) in tea-drinking subjects in comparison to non-tea-drinking subjects. Mutants in the RPSA gene might be associated with genetic susceptibility to CRC and influence the protective effect of tea consumption in the Chinese population.

        The Prognostic Value of Treatment-Related Lymphopenia in Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma Patients

        Purpose This study was conducted to evaluate the prognostic value of treatment-related lymphopenia in patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC). Materials and Methods A total of 413 consecutive stage II-IVb NPC patients treated with concurrent chemoradiotherapy (CCRT) were enrolled. The overall survival (OS), progression-free survival (PFS), and distant metastasis-free survival (DMFS) were calculated with the Kaplan-Meier method, and differences were compared using the log-rank test. Results A minimum (mini)–absolute lymphocyte counts (ALC) of < 390 cells/μL or ALC after 3 months of CCRT (post3m-ALC) < 705 cells/μL was significantly associated with worse outcome than mini-ALC ! 390 cells/μL (OS, p=0.002; PFS, p=0.005; DMFS, p=0.004) or post3m-ALC ! 705 cells/μL (OS, p < 0.001; PFS, p < 0.001; DMFS, p=0.001). Patients with lymphopenia (mini-ALC < 390 cells/μL and post3m-ALC < 705 cells/μL) had a worse prognosis than those without lymphopenia (mini-ALC ! 390 cells/μL and post3m-ALC ! 705 cells/μL) (OS, p < 0.001; PFS, p < 0.001; DMFS, p < 0.001). Multivariate analysis revealed that post3m-ALC was an independent prognostic factor for OS (hazard ratio [HR], 1.76; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.12 to 2.78; p=0.015), PFS (HR, 1.86; 95% CI, 1.23 to 2.82; p=0.003), and DMFS (HR, 1.87; 95% CI, 1.13 to 3.08; p=0.014). Multivariate analysis also revealed that patients with lymphopenia had a high risk of death (HR, 3.79; 95% CI, 1.75 to 8.19; p=0.001), disease progression (HR, 2.93; 95% CI, 1.59 to 5.41; p=0.001), and distant metastasis (HR, 3.89; 95% CI, 1.67 to 9.10; p=0.002). Multivariate analysis performed with time dependent Cox regression demonstrated ALC was an independent prognostic factor for OS (HR, 0.995; 95% CI, 0.991 to 0.999; p=0.025) and PFS (HR, 0.993; 95% CI, 0.988 to 0.998; p=0.006). Conclusion Treatment-related lymphopenia was a poor prognostic factor in NPC patients.

      • Design of Switching System Based on FC-AE-1553 Bus

        As 1553B bus system is also widely used in modern avionics system, so in the new bus system development, not only the quality improvement on the performance is needed, but also should be required to be compatible with the original avionics equipment complying with 1553Bbus protocol , maximum reducing avionics system upgrade difficulty. Based on this consideration, the American National Standards Committee has developed the upper mapping of FC protocol—FC-AE-1553 agreement. FC-AE-155 agreement takes full advantages of the fibre channel and also gives full consideration to the requirement of being compatible with the original 1553B equipment, so the system upgrade can be easily realized. Conduct the fibre bus study based on FC-AE-1553, raise the hardware and software design methods and complete the control system demonstration verification based on fibre-optic bus. At the same time, conduct the bridging technology of FC-AE-1553 and MIL-STD-1553B, construct two types of demonstration verification system for bus bridging, breaking the hardware and software technology of FC-AE-1553 and MIL-STD-1553B bridging and establish the hybrid structure of the high and low speed bus, to meet the needs of the actual model, which plays a very important significance for the further development of China’s aerospace business.

        Two new ursane-type triterpenoid saponins from Elsholtzia bodinieri

        Two new ursane-type triterpenoid saponins,bodiniosides M (1) and N (2), along with three knownsaponins, oblonganosides I (3), pseudobuxussaponin B (4)and bodinioside A (5), were isolated from the aerial partsof Elsholtzia bodinieri. The structures of compounds 1 and2 were characterized by spectroscopic data as well as acidhydrolysis and GC analysis as 3-O-b-D-xylopyranosyl-19ahydroxy-23-acetoxy-urs-12(13)-en-28-oic acid 28-O-a-Lrhamnopyranosyl-(1-2)-b-D-glucopyranoside and 3-O-b-Dglucopyranosyl-2a,19a-dihydroxy-urs-12(13)-en-28,20blactone. Compounds 1 and 5 exhibited potent anti-HCVactivities in vitro with a selective index of 6.53 and 4.41,respectively.

        Efficient Analysis of the Deformation and Fracture Properties of Nano-SiO2 Reinforced ABS/PMMA Composites

        This study investigated the damage mechanism of acrylonitrile-butadiene styrene (ABS)/poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA)/nano-SiO2 composites. The distortion and fracture behavior of ABS/PMMA/nano-SiO2 compositeswere predicted by developing the homogenization theory and the surface-based cohesive method. This model simulatedthe elementary action of elastoplastic damage in the matrix, the fracture for the nano-SiO2 reinforcement, and traction separation for interfaces. The experiment and morphology of the fracture section were validated by the modeling results. Thedamage mechanisms of ABS/PMMA/nano-SiO2 composites were researched with the numerical results, and the roles ofnano-SiO2 strength in the mechanical properties of ABS/PMMA blends were discussed in detail

      • Analysis of non-point and point source pollution load in DongPieHong Ditch

        In this study, the DongPieHong Ditch were taken as the research object, five sampling points were set to measure the COD, NH<sub>3</sub>-N,TNandTPindexes. The correlation and principal component analysis were used to judge the main pollution sources and calculate pollution contribution rate. According to the population in the basin, the load of point source pollution into the river was estimated. As a result, the load of COD, NH<sub>3</sub>-N and TP into the river was 323.04t/a, 43.8t/a and 3.9t/a, respectively. According to the statistics of the rainfall in the basin, the concentrations of COD, TP and NH<sub>3</sub>-N in the initial rainwater were measured and calculated for non-point source pollution, and the results shown that the inflow loads of COD, NH<sub>3</sub>-N and TP into the river were 34.59t/a, 0.12t/a and 0.71t/a, respectively. It was found that the main cause of the pollution in the east flash flood gully was point source pollution, and the proportions of COD, NH<sub>3</sub>-N and TP into the river were 90.33%, 99.72% and 84.61%, respectively.

        STATE OF CHARGE ESTIMATION OF LITHIUM-ION BATTERY USING ENERGY CONSUMPTION ANALYSIS

        The traditional electric current integral algorithm cannot accurately estimate a lithium-ion battery’s state of charge (SOC) under complex discharge conditions. Therefore, in this study, a new estimation method based on a power integral algorithm is proposed. First, the first-order Thevenin equivalent circuit model is selected, and the energy storage and loss of the lithium-ion battery during charging and discharging operations are analyzed. Second, the inherent disadvantages of the electric current integral algorithm are analyzed, and an SOC estimation based on the power integral algorithm is presented. The error correction for the SOC estimation is derived using the extended Kalman filter (EKF). Using the established test bench, the effects of environmental temperature, state of health, and current density on the SOC estimation are analyzed. The experimental results show that the proposed method combining the power integral and EKF can accurately estimate the SOC of a lithium-ion battery.
