Enhancement of Impurity, Machinability and Mechanical Properties in Te-Treated 0Cr18Ni9 Steel

        Jian‑bo Xie,Tian Fan,Han Sun,Zhi‑qi Zeng,Jian‑xun Fu 대한금속·재료학회 2021 METALS AND MATERIALS International Vol.27 No.6

To enhance the machinability and mechanical properties of 0Cr18Ni9 steel, free-machining element Te was introduced inthis work. By adding various quantities of Te to steel, several machining and tensile tests were carried out. Results show thatwith Te addition of 530 ppm, the number of inclusion sizes below 1 μm disappeared. With raising Te from 360 to 530 ppm, more MnTe–MnS inclusions of 10–40 μm were in spherical shape; above 50 μm2, the ratio of inclusion area at 530 ppmwas greatest among all, and the large-sized inclusions occupied a larger share. Te addition contributed to the surfaces ofmachining steels more smooth. The ultimate tensile strength of steel increased from 399 to 435 MPa. Te resulted in growthof sulfides and improved the machinability of steel.

      • Long Term Outcomes and Prognostic Factors of N0 Stage Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma: a Single Institutional Experience with 610 Patients

        Sun, Jian-Da,Chen, Chuang-Zhen,Chen, Jian-Zhou,Li, Dong-Sheng,Chen, Zhi-Jian,Zhou, Ming-Zhen,Li, De-Rui Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2012 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.13 No.5

Treatment responses of $N_0$ stage nasopharyngeal carcinoma were firstly analyzed comprehensively to evaluate long term outcomes of patients and identify prognostic factors. A total of 610 patients with $N_0$ NPC, undergoing definitive radiotherapy to their primary lesion and prophylactic radiation to upper neck, were reviewed retrospectively. Concomitant chemotherapy was administrated to 65 out of the 610. Survival rates of the patients were calculated using the Kaplan-Meier method and compared by log-rank test. Prognostic factors were identified by the Cox regression model. The study revealed the 5-year and 10-year overall, disease-free, disease-specific, local failure-free, regional failure-free, locoregional failure-free and distant metastasis-free survival rates to be 78.7% and 66.8%, 68.8% and 55.8%, 79.9% and 70.4%, 81.2% and 72.5%, 95.8% and 91.8%, 78.3% and 68.5%, 88.5% and 85.5%, respectively. There were 192 patients experiencing failure (31.5%) after radiotherapy or chemoradiotherapy. Of these, local recurrence, regional relapse and distant metastases as the first event of failure occurred in 100 (100/610, 16.4%), 15(15/610, 2.5%) and 52 (52/610, 8.5%), respectively. Multivariate analysis showed that T stage was the only independent prognostic factor for patients with $N_0$ NPC (P=0.000). Late T stage (P=0.000), male (P=0.039) and anemia (P=0.007) were independently unfavorable factors predicting disease-free survival. After treatment, satisfactory outcome wasgenerally achieved in patients with $N_0$ NPC. Local recurrence represented the predominant mode of treatment failure, while T stage was the only independent prognostic factor for overall survival. Late T stage, male gender, and anemia independently predicted lower possibility of the disease-free survival.

      • New Model of In-situ Xenograft Lymphangiogenesis by a Human Colonic Adenocarcinoma Cell Line in Nude Mice

        Sun, Jian-Jun,Jing, Wei,Ni, Yan-Yan,Yuan, Xiao-Jian,Zhou, Hai-Hua,Fan, Yue-Zu Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2012 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.13 No.6

Objective: To explore a new model of in-situ xenograft lymphangiogenesis of human colonic adenocarcinomas in nude mice. Method: On the basis of establishing subcutaneous xenograft lymphangiogenesis model of human colonic adenocarcinoms, in-situ xenografts were established through the in situ growth of the HT-29 human colonic adenocarcinoma cell line in nude mice. The numbers of lymphangiogenic microvessels, the expression of lymphatic endothelial cell markers lymphatic vessel endothelial hyaloronic acid receptor-1 (LYVE-1), D2-40 and the lymphatic endothelial growth factors vascular endothelial growth factor-C (VEGF-C), -D (VEGF-D) and receptor-3 (VEGFR-3) were compared by immunohistochemical staining, Western bolt and quantitative RT-PCR in xenograft in-situ models. Results: Some microlymphatics with thin walls, large and irregular or collapsed cavities and increased LMVD, with strong positive of LYVE-1, D2-40 in immunohistochemistry, were observed, identical with the morphological characteristics of lymphatic vessels and capillaries. Expression of LYVE-1 and D2-40 proteins and mRNAs were significantly higher in xenograpfts in-situ than in the negative control group(both P<0.01). Moreover, the expression of VEGF-C, VEGF-D and VEGFR-3 proteins and mRNAs were significantly higher in xenografts in-situ (both P<0.01), in conformity with the signal regulation of the VEGF-C,-D/VEGFR-3 axis of tumor lymphangiogenesis. Conclusions: In-situ xenografts of a human colonic adenocarcinoma cell line demonstrate tumor lymphangiogenesis. This novel in-situ animal model should be useful for further studying mechanisms of lymph node metastasis, drug intervention and anti-metastasis therapy in colorectal cancer.

Genome-wide identification of the class III aminotransferase gene family in rice and expression analysis under abiotic stress

        Jian Sun,Dong-Wei Xie,Hong-Wei Zhao,De-Tang Zou 한국유전학회 2013 Genes & Genomics Vol.35 No.5

Aminotransferases are pyridoxal 50-phosphatedependent enzymes that play crucial roles in plant growth, development, and responses to abiotic stress. The class III aminotransferase family (ATIII family) is an important subfamily. However, no characterization of rice ATIII genes has been previously reported. Using available rice genome sequence information, we identified 12 japonica and 13 indica ATIII genes that were randomly localized on chromosomes 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, and 11. Information provided by the Plant Genome Duplication Database revealed that four japonica and four indica ATIII genes are the results of segmental duplications, and two japonica and six indica genes resulted from tandem duplications. A phylogenetic analysis of the ATIII genes in japonica, indica and Arabidopsis enabled the classification of the genes into six different groups, and the characteristics were established before the monocot-dicot and japonica–indica split. An analysis of the Ka/Ks, divergence time and average indel length suggested the diverse selection styles of the duplicated gene pairs. Gene structure and motif analyses revealed that the ATIII gene family has experienced extensive divergence. Real-time PCR was performed to examine the expression pattern of the japonica ATIII genes in response to various abiotic stresses including drought, salt, and cold. The results suggested that most of the genes were differentially up- or down-regulated in rice seedlings in response to at least one stress factor, which indicates the key role of the rice ATIII gene family in responding to abiotic stresses. These results provide a basis for elucidating the roles of the ATIII genes and their further functional analysis under abiotic stresses.

Study of dry friction characteristics of silicon nitride full ceramic ball bearing with PEEK-based cage

        Jian Sun,Zhe Zhang,Zhongxian Xia,Xin Fang,Renyun Guan,Guangxiang Zhang,Jinmei Yao 한양대학교 청정에너지연구소 2023 Journal of Ceramic Processing Research Vol.24 No.3

In order to investigate the influence of polyether ether ketone (PEEK) and its composite cage on the dry friction characteristicsof silicon nitride all-ceramic ball bearings, this paper firstly conducted a theoretical analysis of silicon nitride deep groove ballbearings subjected to radial load under dry friction conditions, and then conducted dry friction tests and simulation studieson PEEK, CF30 and PVX cage silicon nitride full ceramic ball bearings. The test results show that the temperature rise ofCF30 and PVX cage bearings is higher than that of PEEK cage bearings; the relationship between the root mean square valueof vibration of PEEK, CF30 and PVX cage bearings is PEEK cage bearings > CF30 cage bearings > PVX cage bearings; thesimulation model has good accuracy; Surface morphology analysis of the PVX cage bearing after the test show that thetransfer film has the effect of wear reduction and lubrication on the bearing. The results of the study have positive significancefor the research of transfer film lubricated bearings and the selection of cage materials.

Stress Distribution and Failure Characteristics for Workface Floor of a Tilted Coal Seam

Jian Sun,Lianguo Wang,Guangming Zhao 대한토목학회 2019 KSCE JOURNAL OF CIVIL ENGINEERING Vol.23 No.9

A mechanical model for the tilted workface floor along the tilted direction of coal seam was proposed. Stress expressions of an arbitrary point inside the tilted workface floor were deduced. Calculation formula for the maximum failure depth of the lateral floor strata of the tilted workface was also deduced. Based on the Mohr-Coulomb yield criterion, the tilted workfacefloor’s stress distribution, and failure depth and shape were simulated by using FLAC3D software for different coal seam’s dip angles, buried depths, and workface widths. Results show that the concentration coefficient, the peak value and the distance between the peak position of the lateral abutment pressure and the roadway on both sides of the tilted workface decreases with the increases in coal seam’s dip angle. The vertical stress isoclines present a “spoon-shaped” distribution along the tilteddirection of workface. Both sides of the workface form “bubble-shaped” distribution shear stress and its peak value increases first and then decreases with the increases in coal seam’s dip angle and reaches maximum at 30°–35°. The tilted workface floor’s plastic failure zone presents a “spoon-shaped” distribution along the tilted direction of workface, which is large on the lower side and small on the upper side. The plastic zone’s failure depth increases first and then decreases with the increases in the dip angle of coal seam and reaches maximum at 30°.

A Resonant Characteristics Analysis and Suppression Strategy for Multiple Parallel Grid-connected Inverters with LCL Filter

        Jian-jun Sun,Wei Hu,Hui Zhou,Yi-ming Jiang,Xiao-ming Zha 전력전자학회 2016 JOURNAL OF POWER ELECTRONICS Vol.16 No.4

Multiple parallel inverters have multiple resonant frequencies that are influenced by many factors. This often results in stability and power quality problems. This paper develops a multiple input multiple output model of grid-connected inverter systems using a closed-loop transfer function. The influence factors of the resonant characteristics are analyzed with the developed model. The analysis results show that the resonant frequency is closely related to the number, type and composition ratio of the parallel inverters. To suppress resonance, a scheme based on virtual impedance is presented, where the virtual impedance is emulated in the vicinity of the resonance frequency. The proposed scheme needs one inverter with virtual impedance control, which reduces the design complexity of the other inverter controllers. Simulation and experimental tests are carried out on two single phase converter-based setups. The results validate the correctness of the model, the analytical results and the resonant suppressing scheme.
