      • 족저 근막염에 적용된 치료적 스포츠마사지의 효과

        정동혁,김연수,송윤희 한국스포츠리서치 2003 한국 스포츠 리서치 Vol.14 No.3

Plantar fasciitis is a repetitive microtrauma overload injury of the attachment of the plantar fascia at the inferior aspect of the calcaneus. The diagnosis of plantar fasciitis is common among athletes in many sports, primarily those sports that involve running. Common treatments for plantar fasciitis, including ice, stretching, ultrasound, and shoe inserts are helpful in reducing the symptoms. However, recurrence of the problem is common. By understanding the potential biomechanical causes of this disorder it may be possible to correct the anatomical and biomechanical variables that cause plantar fasciitis and reduce the rate of recurrence as well as speed the rehabilitation process. It may also be possible to identify predisposing maladaptations that can be corrected, therefore, preventing the initial occurrence of plantar fasciitis. The purpose of this study is to find out the effects of the therapeutic sports massage(TSM) applied to the patients with plantar fasciitis by measuring, assessing and analyzing the changes in intensity and unpleasantness of muscle pains before and after TSM. In the therapeutic sports massage program, such methods as effleurage, petrissage and deep transverse friction were selected as traditional massage treatments frequently used for muscles with pain and spasticity. After TSM, the McGill pain questionnaire word list(MPQWL), verbal rating scale(VRS), visual analogue scale(VAS) were used to measure the degree of the pain on the patients. The major findings from this study are as follows; 1. There was significant decrease in the numerical values of VAS, VRS and MPQWL after TSM(p<.05). 2. There was significant decrease in the intensity and unpleasantness of pains after TSM(p<.05). 3. From the analysis into chronological changes in the intensity and unpleasantness of pains before and after TSM with ANOVA, it became evident that the longer the period of treatment was, the higher the pains decreases drastically, while significant difference was shown in the intensity and unpleasantness of pains(p<.05). Summed up, it can be generally concluded that TSM is an effective treatment to rid the patients with plantar fasciitis of pains safely and promptly.

In order to compare and analyze major techniques employed by the college judo competitors of Korea who participated in the 43rd National Male and Female Judo Championships by Weight Class, the players in the light, middle and heavy weight classes were classified into 3 categories: (1) those who are taller than opponents(by +4 cm or more); (2) as tall as opponents(-3~+3 cm); and (3) smaller than opponents(by -4 cm or less). Scoring points and used techniques were examined from videotapes and matching records, which resulted in the following conclusions: 1. In case of light weight players who are taller than opponents, foot(34.73%) was used most frequently and effectively, followed significantly by hand(28.54%), pressing(15.35%), waist(15.31%) and pull-down(4.25%) sacrifice throw techniques(1.66%) in order(p<0.00l). Those who are as tall as opponents used foot techniques(34.88%) more effectively than hand although hand techniques(38.38%) were employed more frequently. For those who are smaller than opponents, hand techniques(35.03%) were used most frequently and effectively, followed significantly by foot(32.57%), waist(8.39%), pressing(16.12%) and pull-down sacrifice throw techniques(7.8%) sequence(p<.001). 2. In case of middle weight players who are taller than or as tall as opponents, foot(30.72%) was used most frequently and effectively, followed significantly by hand(35.42%), pressing(21.32%), waist(8.15%) pull-down sacrifice throw(0.42%) and cross lock(l.06%) in order(p<0.001). However, for those who are smaller than opponents, hand techniques were used more frequently and effectively than pressing, waist and cross lock

Learning effect has implication for the performance analysis for the LCD industry which is highly process oriented and capital intensive industry. In this study, we estimate the learning parameter in that industry and investigate the difference in learning across generations. Based on the estimated learning effect, we provide some implication for the question whether the leadership in the industry is sustainable or not.

      • 편타손상(Whiplash Injury) 환자에게 적용된 재활마사지 프로그램의 유용성

        주동엽,김수근,정동혁 한국스포츠리서치 2004 한국 스포츠 리서치 Vol.15 No.2

Whiplash describes the manner in which a head is moved suddenly to produce a sprain in the neck and typically occurs after rear-end automobile collisions. It is one of the most common mechanisms of injury to the cervical spine. Although considered by some to be a form of compensation neurosis, evidence suggests that whiplash injuries are real and that they are a potential cause of significant impairment. Symptoms of cervical whiplash injury include neck pain and stiffness, interscapular pain, arm pain and/or occipital headache, and many whiplash patients have persistent complaints. The purpose of this study is to find out the effectiveness of the rehabilitation massage program applied to the patients with whiplash injury by measuring, assessing and analyzing the changes in intensity and unpleasantness of muscle pains before and after program. Surveyed from January 2003 to December 2003 were 92 patients suffering from whiplash injury. In the rehabilitation massage program, such methods as effleurage, petrissage and deep transverse friction were selected as traditional massage treatments frequently used for muscles with pain and stiffness. After program, the McGill pain questionnaire word list(MPQWL), verbal rating scale(VRS), visual analogue scale(VAS) were used to measure the degree of the pain on the patients. The major findings from this study are as follows; 1. The surveyed patients range from 17 to 64 in age, with highest numbers of 29 (31.52%) registered in the twenties and next ones of 26(28.26%) in the thirties. 2. There was significant decrease in the numerical values of MPQWL, VRS and VAS after rehabilitation massage program(p<.05). 3. There was significant decrease in the intensity of pain and unpleasantness of pain after rehabilitation massage program{p<.Q5). 4. From the analysis into chronological changes in the intensity and unpleasantness of pains before and after rehabilitation massage program with ANOVA, it became evident that the longer the period of treatment was, the higher the pains decreases drastically, while significant difference was shown in the intensity and unpleasantness of pains(p<.05). Summed up, it can be generally concluded that rehabilitation massage program is an effective treatment to rid the patients with whiplash injury of pains safely and promptly.

      • 장기간 중강도 유산소성 운동이 심부온과 피부온에 미치는 영향

        주동엽,김수근,정동혁 한국스포츠리서치 2003 한국 스포츠 리서치 Vol.20 No.1

This study is aimed at investigating the changes in core temperature and skin temperature of human body affected by moderate intensity aerobic exercise training. Subjects were 20 male university students to trace the change in skin temperature and rectal temperature when they undergo exercises 30 minutes a day, five days a week for 12 weeks at anaerobic threshold. In order to process the collected data, the mean and standard deviation values were calculated from the results of each item measured for two groups. One way repeated measure ANOVA was applied to find out the change with the lapse of time, while Student's t-test was used to ascertain the average difference between the two groups and Newman-Keuls test as the post-hoc. The significance level was set at 5%. The followings are the conclusion of the study conducted to examine the effects of long-term moderate intensity aerobic exercise on skin temperature and rectal temperature; First, the local skin temperature decreases generally on all body parts except on feet in the non-exercise group, whereas, it maintains the usual state on all except on hands, thighs and feet in the exercise group. Second, the non-exercise group shows decrease in skin temperature lower than average of normal state during the time from the start of excercise to recovery, while the mean skin temperature of exercise group increases generally compared to normal state. Summed up, the long-term moderate intensity aerobic exercise is believed to activate the sweat-secreting mechanism of human body and to induce to push up the skin temperature by means of rising heart rate thanks to the improved blood circulatory function, local blood flow gain and improved thermo-regulatory vascular expansion function. It comes, therefore, true that the moderate intensity aerobic exercise might affect the skin temperatures and that the moderate intensity aerobic exercise is directly connected with the thermo-regulatory function of our body.

      • 앉은 자세와 기립 자세의 비율이 정상 성인의 체간 굴곡 유연성에 미치는 영향

For spinal flexibility measurements to be meaningful to clinicians or researchers, they must have a normative information and an understanding of how different variables affect spinal range of motion (ROM). Normal spinal ROM measurements are influenced to differing degrees by many factors. These factors include age, gender, time of day, leisure activities, previous history of low back pain, warming up, and the techniques with which normative data are collected. The additional variables of standing height, ratio of standing height to sitting height, and obesity had not been previously studied extensively and were shown to have a significant effect on flexibility in the sagittal plane. These relationship cannot be explained easily. Thus, the purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between spinal flexibility and individual factors (weight, standing height, and ratio of standing height to sitting height) that influence it. Fifteen healthy subjects between the ages of 20 and 27 years were studied. Two physical therapists measured independently the spinal forward bending ROM in the sagittal plane by Remodified Schober test and Finger-to-floor test. In order to determine the statistical significance of the result the Pearson's correlation was applied at the .05 level of significance. The results of this study were as follows: 1) Significant relationship was not identified between spinal flexibility and weight. 2) Significant relationship was not identified between spinal flexibility and standing height. 3) Significant relationship was not identified between spinal flexibility and ratio of standing height to sitting height.
