<P>Alkylamine-functionalized graphene oxides (FGOs) have superior dispersibility in low-polar solvents and, as a result, they interact with low-polar polymers such as polystyrene. In this work, the functionalization of graphene oxide using three types of alkylamines, octylamine (OA), dodecylamine (DDA), and hexadecylamine (HDA), was performed, and nanocomposites of polystyrene (PS) and FGOs were prepared via solution blending. Different dispersions of FGOs over PS were obtained for the three alkylamines, and the properties of the PS composites were influenced by the length of the alkylamine. A better thermal stability was observed with a longer chain length of the alkylamine. On the other hand, functionalization with the shortest chain length alkylamine resulted in the highest increase in the storage modulus (3,640 MPa, 140%) at a 10 wt.% loading of FGO.</P>

<P>In this study, we develop an optical contact probe array for scanning near-field lithography. We fabricate the optical probes with a pyramidal tip array on an aluminium/silicon nitride composite membrane. Here, we reduce the contact pressure using the corrugations on the silicon nitride membrane and the flattened surface on top of the tip. After fabricating the 5 × 5 probes in the array, we evaluate the contact pressure using the force–distance curve obtained by an atomic force microscope. The spring constants of the corrugated membranes are 10 ± 0.6 N m<SUP>−1</SUP>. The contact pressure on a flattened 295 nm in-radius is calculated to be approximately 33 MPa for a 300 nm deflection. This value is 22 times smaller than that of a sharp pyramidal tip of 20 nm in-radius on a flat membrane.</P>
노화 및 인지기능장애에서 뇌 철 영상 기법: 자기공명영상을 이용한 접근

철은 중추신경계 및 인체에 필수적인 성분으로 노화 및 다양한 퇴행성 뇌질환에서 뇌의 철침착이 증가된다. 철은 MRI에서 독특한 특성을 가지고 있어 인체의 철 침착과 분포를 비침습적으로 평가 및 정량화가 가능하다. 이 종설에서는 철 영상을 위한 MRI 기법에 대하여 알아보고, 노화 및 알츠하이머병을 포함한 퇴행성 뇌질환에서 변화를 고찰해 보고자 한다. 또한 현재 접근법의 제한점과 앞으로 기대되는 새로운 접근도 확인해 보고자 한다.
Structure and Antiinflammatory Activity Relationships of Wogonin Derivatives

A number of wogonin derivatives have been synthesized as congeners of wogonin and evaluated for their inhibitory activities of PGE2 production. Wogonin derivatives modified at the B ring of wogonin were obtained from 2,4-Dihydroxy-3,6-dimethoxyacetophenone (1) via several steps. Most wogonin derivatives exhibited much reduced inhibitory activities against COX-2 catalyzed PGE2 production compared to that of wogonin. Alkylation of 5,7-phenol groups and substitution at the B ring of wogonin generally caused reduction of inhibitory activity.
