Designation and Application Status of State-Designated Cultural Property, Scenic Sites

While designation status of state-appointed cultural properties, promotion status of scenic sites, overlap with natural parks, and relationship with both nine river bends and eight views were reviewed, application and promotion status of scenic sites were analyzed by exploring culture and tourism websites of local governments and tourist leaflets on scenic sites. The results of the analysis are as follows. There are totally 109 designated scenic sites in Korea and these are distributed in 59 local governments, which account for 26.1% of local governments. Accordingly, unequal regional distribution was found to be significant. As a result of the exploration of the status of overlapping between scenic site-designated areas and national, provincial, and county parks, altogether 53 designated scenic sites that account for 48.6%, overlapped with natural parks. Thus, there is a great need for role sharing and cooperation with natural park management entities in terms of experience programs within scenic sites and cultural commentaries. Meanwhile, there is a significant difference among the local governments regarding the efforts in highlighting cultural properties as tourist resources while universal awareness and promotion of scenic sites was found to be very low. Marking scenic sites on leaflets were prone to lag behind those on homepages. The analysis on status of scenic sites revealed that festivals and events were being held in 39.4% of scenic sites and those with longer designation- lapsed years were associated with the prevalence of festivals. Moreover, natural scenic sites located in natural parks were unwilling to be used through local government’s awareness and tourism endeavors compared to historical and cultural scenic sites. Additionally, several wrong descriptions were found on the markings of scenic sites and thus, promotion of scenic site culture and operational management requires urgent improvement.
Contorted polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon: promising Li insertion organic anode

<P>Enhancing the performance of carbon-based anode materials in Li-ion battery (LIB) systems is of considerable interest in terms of next-generation LIB host electrodes, because the unique reversible intercalation-de-intercalation process of such materials ultimately facilitates increases in LIB performance and longevity. This study explored the potential of a new class of carbon-based contorted hexabenzocoronene (c-HBC) as an anode material for high-performance LIB systems. The exploitation of the polymorphic crystalline nature of c-HBC resulted in successful development of a LIB anode based on a newly found crystal phase of trigonal <I>R</I>3̄ by solvent and subsequent thermal annealing. Our in-depth analysis based on cross-sectional transmission electron microscopy, grazing incidence X-ray diffraction, and computational investigation revealed further advantages of using contorted molecules in LIB systems. For instance, the resulting electrochemical characteristics using half-cell architecture clearly reflected single-stage Li insertion behavior associated with the large interspacing and short diffusion length of c-HBC molecule during the discharging process. In addition, the battery exhibited excellent rate capability and cycle endurance, highlighting the suitability of c-HBC as an anode material for high-performance LIBs.</P>

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to examine the structural relationship among relationship marketing, relationship quality, and behavioral intention toward children sports centers. Research design, data, and methodology: To achieve this purpose, this study employed a convenience sampling method via a questionnaire dissemination. A total of 427 responses were collected from the parents of six children sports centers. Among those, 21 responses were excluded as they were not completed, leaving 406 valid data. For hypotheses test, the collected data was computed in SPSS 27.0 and AMOS 27.0, and analyzed with frequency analysis, correlation analysis, reliability analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, and structural equation modeling analysis. Results: First, relationship marketing had a positive influence on relationship quality. Second, relationship marketing had a positive influence on behavioral intention. Third, relationship quality had a positive influence on behavioral intention. Conclusions: Results showed that relationship marketing had a positive influence on relationship quality and behavioral intention. Moreover, relationship quality had a positive influence on behavioral intention. These findings indicate a positive function of relationship marketing in building psychological and behavioral outcomes in the context of children sport industry. Given this, implications of relationships among research variables were discussed.

This study was conducted to investigate changes in blood enzyme parameters and to evaluate the relationship between insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1), antler growth and body weight during the antler growth of sika deer (Cervus nippon). Serum enzyme activity and IGF-1 concentrations were measured in blood samples collected from the jugular and femoral veins at regular intervals during the antler growth period. Blood samples were taken in the morning from fasted stags (n = 12) which were healthy and showed no clinical signs of disease. Alfalfa was available ad libitum and concentrates were given at 1% of body weight to all stags. The experimental diet was provided at 9 am with water available at all times. There were no significant differences in alkaline phosphatase, aspartate aminotransferase, and alanine aminotransferase during antler growth, but alkaline phosphatase concentrations increased with antler growth progression, and the highest alkaline phosphatase concentration was obtained 55 days after antler casting. Serum IGF-1 concentrations measured from blood samples taken from the jugular vein during antler growth, determined that levels of IGF-1 was associated with body weight and antler growth patterns. Serum IGF-1 concentrations were higher at the antler cutting date than other sampling dates. Antler length increased significantly during antler growth (p<0.001), and there was a similar trend to between right and left beams. Body weight increased with antler growth but was not significant. Consequently it appeared that serum alkaline phosphatase concentration was related to antler growth and both antler growth and body weight were associated positively with IGF-1 concentrations during antler growth.
Proactive Row Buffer Management for LPDDR2-NVM Devices

LPDDR2-NVM has been announced as an industry standard to efficiently interface the emerging non-volatile memory devices such as phase change memory (PCM). This standard interface has been adopted in most commercial PCM devices. However, existing PCM research has less addressed or overlooked this standard interface under assumption that it is similar to conventional DRAM interface. Unlike the conventional DRAM interface, the row buffer architecture specified in LPDDR2-NVM has several unique features in order to support the different characteristics of PCM operation. In this paper, we devise a proactive row buffer management for enhancing the performance with almost negligible implementation overhead, targeting LPDDR2-NVM compatible memory devices. Our extensive simulations demonstrate 12.2% performance enhancement and 0.3% energy reduction of memory system, on average, with fairly small cost overheads.
Current Status of the CXI Beamline at the PAL-XFEL

The Pohang Accelerator Laboratory’s X-ray free electron laser (PAL-XFEL) is a research facility currently under construction. It will provide ultra-bright (1 × 1012 photons/pulse at 12.4 keV) and ultra-short (10 − 60 femtosecond) X-ray pulses. The CXI (coherent X-ray imaging) hard X-ray experimental station is designed to deliver brilliant hard X-rays (2 − 20.4 keV) and to measure diffraction signals with a forward scattering geometry. It will not only offer imaging studies of biological, chemical and physical samples with the “diffraction-before-destruction” scheme, but also be helpful in high-field hard X-ray physics and material science. The scientific programs are currently aimed at serial femtosecond crystallography (SFX) and coherent diffraction imaging (CDI) for bio specimens, nano materials, etc. In this paper, we describe the beamline layout, beam diagnostics, X-ray focusing optics, sample environments and detector system at the CXI experimental hutch.
