      • 女性の人權と 社會構想親密圈の現代的意義

        In the present day, we have faced difficulties to discuss human rights. Partly because philosophy can not provide the firm and appropriate to our society foundation of human rights, and partly because characteristics of our society prevent our using previous tools or ways for right claims and dispute resolution. But we have a lot of cases on serious violation. So we need new structure and visions to analyze our society and relationship among the state, communities and individuals, in order to resopnse, arrange and solute various type of violation. In this article, referring to the history and theoretical development of argumentation on women`s rights and Feminism, we try to search for the key concept and visions on our society. Especially, we focus on the sphere of the intimacy as the base of establishing individuals, reflecting our systems and rules, and providing new sense of values.

      • FATE OF TRICRESYL PHOSPHATE ISOMERS IN KUROSE RIVER(JAPAN)

        Origin and fate of TCP isomers were studied in Kurose River, Hiroshima, Japan. As main factors to control the fate, the adsorption characteristics of TCP isomers onto sediment and biodegradation in river water and sediment were studied. Concentration of TCP isomers in river water, sediment and SS were the highest in autumn. It was about ten times as large as that in winter. High concentration of o-TCP was noted except for spring. Different from other seasons, the concentrations of o-TCP was relatively low and m-TCP was not detected in summer. These variation seemed to be due to the difference in the rate of biodegradation with temperature. The concentrations of TCP isomers increased with the increase in flow rate under flooding condition. TCP in the river originated from non-point sources and not from wastewaters nor equilibrium was observed between bottom sediment and river water indicating TCP was biodegraded rapidly in the bottom sediment. The biodegradation rate in the sediment was the lowest for o-TCP and the highest for p-TCP. The biodegradation rate of m-TCP was small under low temperature, whereas it was large in high temperature above 20℃. The most biodegradable isomer, p-TCP, was not detected in most cases.

        Dynamic Patterns of Trade Imbalance and Asset- Debt Position with Adjustment Costs of Investment

        Dynamic patterns of trade imbalance and asset-debt position are analyzed employing a model of two countries, one good, two primary inputs, and identical technologies and preferences with investment adjustment costs. The countries are assumed to have different initial per capita physical capital endowments and foreign assets. Our model covers both types of adjustment cost-Uzawa[1965]'s Penrose effect type and Eisner and Strotz[1963]'s type. First, the system is shown to be globally stable (Theorem 1). Then, Theorem 2 shows that if the per capita capital stocks of both countries increase over time or the capital stock of the foreign country increases while that of the home country decreases, and if the home country is rich in both initial physical capital endowments and foreign assets, then the home country either initially exports goods but eventually becomes an importer or she always imports goods. In either case she remains a creditor. (JEL Classification: F21, O12)

        Percentage of motile spermatozoa at 22 hours after swim-up procedure: An indicator for intracytoplasmic sperm injection?

        Objective: The decision to use in vitro fertilization (IVF), intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), or split insemination (IVF-ICSI) in the first cycle is based on the number of motile sperm. Hence, total fertilization failure (TFF) often occurs during IVF cycles, despite normozoospermia. To investigate whether the cumulative motile swim-up spermatozoa percentage at 22 hours post-insemination (MSPPI) is an indicator for ICSI, we analyzed TFF, fertilization, blastocyst development, chemical pregnancy, clinical pregnancy, and live birth rates. Methods: This prospective study was performed using data obtained from 260 IVF cycles. At 22 hours after insemination, the remaining swim-up spermatozoa were observed and divided into six groups according to MSPPI (<10%, 10% to <30%, 30% to <50%, 50% to <70%, 70% to <90%, and 90% to 100%). Results: Regardless of the ejaculated motile sperm concentration ($0.6-280{\times}10^6/mL$ motile spermatozoa), the incidence of TFF significantly increased when MSPPI was <10%, and the fertilization rate significantly decreased when MSPPI was <30%. We found that cumulative MSPPI correlated with the cumulative fertilization rate (Spearman correlation, 0.508, p<0.001). Regarding embryo development, we observed no significant differences in the rates of blastocyst development, chemical pregnancy, clinical pregnancy, or live birth among all groups. Conclusion: Our findings suggest that MSPPI is a viable indicator for split IVF-ICSI and ICSI. Taken together, by employing the MSPPI test in advance before IVF, ICSI, or split IVF-ICSI cycles, unnecessary split IVF-ICSI and ICSI may be avoided.

        The association of follicular fluid volume with human oolemma stretchability during intracytoplasmic sperm injection

        Objective: Oocyte degeneration often occurs after intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), and the risk factor is low-quality oocytes. The follicular fluid (FF) provides a crucial microenvironment for oocyte development. We investigated the relationships between the FF volume aspirated from individual follicles and oocyte retrieval, oocyte maturity, oolemma stretchability, fertilization, and development. Methods: This retrospective study included data obtained from 229 ICSI cycles. Ovarian stimulation was performed according to a gonadotropin-releasing hormone antagonist protocol. Each follicle was individually aspirated and divided into six groups according to FF volume ( < 1.0, 1.0 to < 2.0, 2.0 to < 3.0, 3.0 to < 4.0, 4.0 to < 5.0, and ${\geq}5.0mL$). Oolemma stretchability during ICSI was evaluated using a mechanical stimulus for oolemma penetration, that is, the stretchability was assessed by oolemma penetration with aspiration (high stretchability) or without aspiration (low stretchability). Results: Oocyte retrieval rates were significantly lower in the < 1.0 mL group than in the ${\geq}1.0mL$ groups (46.0% [86/187] vs. 67.5%-74.3% [172/255 to 124/167], respectively; p< 0.01). Low oolemma stretchability was significantly more common in the < 1.0 mL group than in the ${\geq}1.0mL$ groups during ICSI (22.0% [13/59] vs. 5.8%-9.4% [6/104 to 13/139], respectively; p= 0.018). There was a relationship between FF volume and oolemma stretchability. However, there were no significant differences in the rates of fertilization, cleavage, ${\geq}7$ cells at day 3, and blastocyst development among all groups. Conclusion: FF volume is potentially associated with the stretchability of metaphase II oolemma during ICSI. Regarding oolemma stretchability, ensuring a uniform follicular size during ovarian stimulation is crucial to obtain good-quality oocytes.

      • NONLINEAR FORCE-FREE MODELING OF A THREE-DIMENSIONAL SIGMOID OBSERVED ON THE SUN

        <P>In this work, we analyze the characteristics of the three-dimensional magnetic structure of a sigmoid observed over an active region (AR 10930) and followed by X-class flares. This is accomplished by combining a nonlinear force-free field (NLFFF) model of a coronal magnetic field and the high-resolution vector-field measurement of a photospheric magnetic field by Hinode. The key findings of our analysis reveal that the value of the X-ray intensity associated with the sigmoid is more sensitive to the strength of the electric current rather than the twist of the field lines. The strong electric current flows along the magnetic field lines and composes the central part of the sigmoid, even though the twist of the field lines is weak in that region. On the other hand, the outer region (i.e., the elbow part) of the sigmoid is basically occupied by field lines of strong twist and weak current density. Consequently, weak X-ray emission is observed. As the initial Ca II illumination basically occurs from the central part of the sigmoid, this region plays an important role in determining the onset mechanism of the flare despite its weak twisted field-line configuration. We also compare our results with the magnetohydrodynamic simulation for the formation of a sigmoid. Although the estimated values of the twist from the simulation are found to be a little higher than the values obtained from the NLFFF, we find that the field-line configurations generated by the simulation and NLFFF are remarkably analogous as long as we deal with the lower coronal region.</P>

        Surgical Invasiveness of Single-Segment Posterior Lumbar Interbody Fusion: Comparing Perioperative Blood Loss in Posterior Lumbar Interbody Fusion with Traditional Pedicle Screws, Cortical Bone Trajectory Screws, and Percutaneous Pedicle Screws

        Study Design: Single-center retrospective study. Purpose: This study aims to evaluate the surgical invasiveness of single-segment posterior lumbar interbody fusion (PLIF) by comparing perioperative blood loss in PLIF with traditional pedicle screws (PS), cortical bone trajectory screws (CBT), and percutaneous pedicle screws (PPS). Overview of Literature: Intraoperative blood loss has often been used to evaluate surgical invasiveness. However, in patients undergoing spinal surgery, more blood loss is observed postoperatively than intraoperatively. Therefore, evaluating surgical invasiveness using only the intraoperative bleeding volume may result in considerable underestimation of the actual surgical invasiveness. Methods: This study included patients who underwent single-segment PLIF between January 2012 and December 2017. In total, seven patients underwent PLIF with PS (PS-PLIF), nine underwent PLIF with CBT (CBT-PLIF), and 15 underwent PLIF with PPS (PPS-PLIF). Results: No significant differences were noted in terms of operation time or intraoperative bleeding between the PS-PLIF, CBTPLIF, and PPS-PLIF groups. However, the postoperative drainage volume in the PPS-PLIF group (210.1 mL; range, 50–367 mL) was determined to be significantly lower than that in the PS-PLIF (416.7 mL; range, 260–760 mL; p=0.002) and CBT-PLIF (421.1 mL; range, 180–890 mL; p=0.006) groups. In addition, the total amount of intraoperative bleeding and postoperative drainage was found to be significantly lower in the PPS-PLIF group (362.8 mL; range, 145–637 mL) than in the PS-PLIF (639.6 mL; range, 285–1,000 mL; p=0.01) and CBT-PLIF (606.7 mL; range, 270–950 mL; p=0.005) groups. Conclusions: Based on our findings, evaluating surgical invasiveness using only intraoperative bleeding can result in the underestimation of actual surgical invasiveness. Even with single-segment PLIF, the amount of perioperative bleeding can vary depending on the way the posterior instrument is installed.
