강호연 ( Kang¸ Hoyeon ),서효정 ( Seo¸ Hyojeong ) 대구대학교 한국특수교육문제연구소 2021 특수교육저널 : 이론과 실천 Vol.22 No.3
[Purpose] The purpose of this study was to examine the experiences of special education teachers at a special school while they established and implemented personal-centered plans that utilize the Supports Intensity Scale for children. [Method] Data were collected through meetings, interviews, and class logs from September to December 2020 and a case study was conducted. [Results] The students participated in their person-centered plan meetings and tried to reach their own goals with supports from special teachers and parents based on their strengths and aspirations. During this process, the priority for the special teachers to focus on in class was determined and both parents and students cooperated systematically with each other. The implications of implementing person-centered plans were as follows: (a) the person-centered planning placed the student at the center of the overall process from the beginning to the end, (b) stakeholders worked together to reflect the philosophy of person-centered planning in their own classes, and (c) there is still a long way to go in order to successfully implement person-centered plans. [Conclusion] When person-centered plans are applied at school sites, They should be harmonized with each student’s individualized education plan. In addition, flexible instructional designs and instruction reconstruction need to be considered.
Optimized IMS Registration Procedure in Heterogeneous Networks
Hoyeon Lee,Hyun-Woo Lee,Bongkyo Moon 대한전자공학회 2009 ITC-CSCC :International Technical Conference on Ci Vol.2009 No.7
In fourth generation networks, mobile user’s IP address would be changed very frequently because network cell size is getting smaller to provide higher data rate. After changing IP address, mobile user shall re-register it to home network for keeping on-going sessions. To provide high quality real-time multimedia applications in this scenario, the registration procedure should be completed in a short time. In this paper, we propose optimized registration procedure.

Hoyeon Lee,Jonghwan Min,Taewon Lee,Rizza Pua,Sabir, Sohail,Kown-Ha Yoon,Hokyung Kim,Seungryong Cho Professional Technical Group on Nuclear Science 2017 IEEE transactions on nuclear science Vol.64 No.3

Cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) is gaining widespread use in various medical and industrial applications but suffers from substantially larger amount of scatter than that in the conventional diagnostic CT resulting in relatively poor image quality. Various methods that can reduce and/or correct for the scatter in the CBCT have therefore been developed. Scatter correction method that uses a beam-blocker has been considered a direct measurement-based approach providing accurate scatter estimation from the data in the shadows of the beam-blocker. To the best of our knowledge, there has been no record reporting the significance of the scatter from the beam-blocker itself in such correction methods. In this paper, we identified the scatter from the beam-blocker that is detected in the object-free projection data investigated its influence on the image accuracy of CBCT reconstructed images, and developed a scatter correction scheme that takes care of this scatter as well as the scatter from the scanned object.

Corrosion of zirconium fuel cladding is known to limit the lifetime and reloading cycles of fuel in nuclear reactors. Oxide layers formed on ZIRLOTM cladding samples, after immersion for 300-hour and 50-day in a simulated primary water chemistry condition (360 oC and 20 MPa), were analyzed by using the scanning transmission electron microscopy (STEM), in-situ transmission electron microscopy (in-situ TEM) with the focused ion beam (FIB) technique, and X-ray diffraction (XRD). Both samples (immersion for 300 hours and 50 days) revealed the presence of the ZrO sub-oxide phase at the metal/oxide interface and columnar grains developed perpendicularly to the metal/oxide interface. Voids and micro-cracks were also detected near the water/oxide interface, while relatively large lateral cracks were found just above the less advanced metal/oxide interface. Equiaxed grains were mainly observed near the water/oxide interface.
Inhibition of KIF20A suppresses the replication of influenza A virus by inhibiting viral entry
Hoyeon Jeon,Younghyun Lim,In-Gu Lee,Dong-In Kim,Keun Pil Kim,So-Hee Hong,Jeongkyu Kim,Youn-Sang Jung,Young-Jin Seo 한국미생물학회 2022 The journal of microbiology Vol.60 No.11
The influenza A virus (IAV) has caused several pandemics, and therefore there are many ongoing efforts to identify novel antiviral therapeutic strategies including vaccines and antiviral drugs. However, influenza viruses continuously undergo antigenic drift and shift, resulting in the emergence of mutated viruses. In turn, this decreases the efficiency of existing vaccines and antiviral drugs to control IAV infection. Therefore, this study sought to identify alternative therapeutic strategies targeting host cell factors rather than viruses to avoid infection by mutated viruses. Particularly, we investigated the role of KIF20A that is one of kinesin superfamily proteins in the replication of IAV. The KIF20A increased viral protein levels in IAV-infected cells by regulating the initial entry stage during viral infection. Furthermore, the KIF20A inhibitor significantly suppressed viral replication, which protected mice from morbidity and mortality. Therefore, our findings demonstrated that KIF20A is highly involved in the viral replication process and viral propagation both in vitro and in vivo, and could thus be used as a target for the development of novel antiviral drugs.
Electric Field Control of Bacteria-Powered Microrobots Using a Static Obstacle Avoidance Algorithm
Hoyeon Kim,Min Jun Kim IEEE 2016 IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON ROBOTICS Vol. No.

A bacteria-powered microrobot (BPM) is a hybrid robotic system consisting of an SU-8 microstructure with active surfaces or bacterial carpets, in which massive arrays of biomolecular flagellar motors work cooperatively. This paper suggests an obstacle-avoidance method based on a BPM's response to electric fields. The negatively charged bacteria enable the BPM to follow electric fields. In our previous demonstration of the single BPM controllability, we observed a vast change in the control dynamics when obstructions distorted the applied electric field and affected BPM steering and control. In this paper, we demonstrate an obstacle avoidance method that takes the electric field distortion into account to navigate a BPM through multiple static obstacles in real time. We used an artificial potential field and configuration space in our algorithm to generate an objective function for the electric field distortion and collision around/with obstacles, respectively. In addition, finite-element modeling through COMSOL Multiphysics engineering software was used to simulate charged-particle trajectories in a distorted electric field. Finally, we describe the feasibility of our proposed obstacle avoidance approach through experiments and compared these data with simulation results.
