Increased Signal in the Superior Cerebellar Peduncle of Patients with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy
2019 Journal Of Movement Disorders Vol.12 No.3
The provisional diagnosis of progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP) depends on a combination of typical clinical features and specific MRI findings, such as atrophy of the tegmentum in the midbrain. Atrophy of the superior cerebellar peduncle (SCP) distinguishes PSP from other types of parkinsonism. Histological factors affect the conventional fluid-attenuated inversion recovery (FLAIR) signals, such as the extent of neuronal loss and gliosis.

Objective Galvanic vestibular stimulation (GVS) activates the vestibular afferents, and these changes in vestibular input exert a strong influence on the subject’s posture or standing balance. In patients with Parkinson’s disease (PD), vestibular dysfunction might contribute to postural instability and gait disorders. Methods Current intensity was increased to 0.7 mA, and the current was applied to the patients for 20 minutes. To perform a sham stimulation, the current intensity was increased as described and then decreased to 0 mA over the course of 10 seconds. The patient’s status was recorded continuously for 20 minutes with the patient in the supine position. Results Three out of 5 patients diagnosed with PD with postural instability and/or abnormal axial posture showed a reduction in postural instability after GVS. The score for item 12 of the revised Unified Parkinson’s Disease Rating Scale part 3 was decreased in these patients. Conclusions The mechanism of postural instability is complex and not completely understood. In 2 out of the 5 patients, postural instability was not changed in response to GVS. Nonetheless, the GVS-induced change in postural instability for 3 patients in our study suggests that GVS might be a therapeutic option for postural instability
日本市場における商品硏究の流れ - 商品硏究の現狀と新しい硏究硯点の提示 -
카토오카 히로시(Kataoka Hiroshi) 한국상품학회 2003 商品學硏究 Vol.- No.30
This study have two purposes. One is investigating the present state and trend of product researches in Japanese market. Another one is suggesting the new directions for product research. To investigate the present state and trend of product researches in Japanese market, content analysis of the Journal of Japan Society for Commodity Science(Shouhin-Kenkyu)was carried out. From this analysis, recent 10 years of product researches in Japapanse market are examimed in the aspect of research fields, product categories, product flows from production to consumption. Through this content analysis two problems of present product research will be pointed out. First, research focus has been leaned toward individual product problems only. Second, there is very few study or research which consider the social influence of commodification in present product researches. After the examination of promblems of presert product research, new directions for product research are also suggested by conceptual frameworks. These frameworks indicate commodification process ,in the aspect of scientific technology and consumption change, and importance of relationship between product and enviroments.

Several prospective studies on laparoscopy-assisted distal gastrectomy for early gastric cancer have been initiated, but no prospective study evaluating laparoscopy-assisted total gastrectomy or laparoscopy-assisted proximal gastrectomy has been completed to date. A non-randomized confirmatory trial was commenced in April 2015 to evaluate the safety of laparoscopy-assisted total gastrectomy and laparoscopy-assisted proximal gastrectomy for clinical stage I gastric cancer. A total of 245 patients will be accrued from 42 Japanese institutions over 3 years. The primary endpoint is the proportion of patients with anastomotic leakage. The secondary endpoints are overall survival, relapse-free survival, proportion of patients with completed laparoscopy-assisted total gastrectomy or laparoscopy-assisted proximal gastrectomy, proportion of patients with conversion to open surgery, adverse events, and short-term clinical outcomes. The UMIN Clinical Trials Registry number is UMIN000017155.
Primary Multiple Cardiac Myxomas in a Patient without the Carney Complex
Shohei Kataoka,Masato Otsuka,Masayuki Goto,Mitsuru Kahata,Asako Kumagai,Koji Inoue,Hiroshi Koganei,Kenji Enta,Yasuhiro Ishii 한국심초음파학회 2016 Journal of Cardiovascular Imaging (J Cardiovasc Im Vol.24 No.1
Cardiac tumors are rare, and multiple myxomas are even rarer. The latter phenomenon is mostly associated with the Carney complex, a dominantly inherited disease characterized by multiple primary cardiac myxomas, endocrinopathy, and spotty pigmentation of the skin. We report the rare case of a patient who did not have the Carney complex but had multiple primary cardiac tumors. A 78-year-old woman with a past history of breast cancer was referred to our hospital for further examination of multiple cardiac tumors. Echocardiography showed 4 tumors in the left atrium and left ventricle. We could not diagnose them preoperatively and decided to resect them surgically because they were mobile and could have caused embolism and obstruction. The postoperative pathological findings of all 4 tumors were myxomas, although the patient did not meet the diagnostic criteria of the Carney complex. Therefore, a rare case of multiple primary cardiac myxomas was diagnosed.

High-Performance Computation Using a Single-Flux Quantum Accelerator
Farhad Mehdipour,Hiroaki Honda,Hiroshi Kataoka,Koji Inoue,Kazuaki Murakami 대한전자공학회 2009 ITC-CSCC :International Technical Conference on Ci Vol.2009 No.7
A large-scale reconfigurable data-path (LSRDP) processor based on single-flux quantum circuits has been proposed to overcome the barriers originating from the CMOS technology. LSRDP is integrated to a general purpose processor in a high-performance computing system to accelerate the execution of data flow graphs extracted from scientific applications. The LSRDP micro-architecture and its specifications will be presented in this paper. A preliminary performance evaluation of the reconfigurable processor will be given as well.
