The comparison of two neolignans isolated from red betel leaf and its extract against macrophage phagocytic activity, the level of AST, and histopathological features of the liver in mice

Yustina Sri Hartini,Sitarina Widyarini,Laurentius Hartanto Nugroho 경희대학교 융합한의과학연구소 2018 Oriental Pharmacy and Experimental Medicine Vol.18 No.4

A single active compound isolated from a plant extract may show a lower, equal, or greater activity compared to its extract. The two neolignans (Pc-1 and Pc-2) has been isolated from red betel (Piper crocatum Ruiz & Pav.) leaf. The aim of this study was to compare the phagocytic activity of macrophage and histopathological feature in mice treated with Pc-1, Pc-2 and its Pc-extract. Listeria monocytogenes was used to induce Balb/c mice immune response. Peroral administration of Pc-1 and Pc-2 and red betel leaf methanolic Pc-extract were carried out. The phagocytic effect was determined by macrophage phagocytosis and nitric oxide (NO) assays. The morphological feature of liver and kidney were observed using light microscope. The level of apartate transaminase (AST serum) and alanine transaminase (ALT serum) were also measured from the blood serum before and after L. monocytogenes infection. The results shows that the macrophage phagocytic activity of given 450 mg/kg body weight Pc-extract was equal to 5 mg/kg body weight of Pc-1 and Pc-2. The activity pattern of percentage phagocytosis, index phagocytosis, and efficiency phagocytosis of Pc-extract, Pc-1, and Pc-2 were similar, as well as the NO production. A certain dose of Pc-extract and both isolated compound reduced the level of AST while there were no effect on ALT level. There were no histopathological features differences in the liver after treated with Pc-extract and Pc-1. However, Pc-2 treatment caused hydropic degeneration on liver. Therefore it can be concluded that there were equal activity between Pc-extract and the isolated compound in certain dose. The Pc-extract and isolated compound reduced the level of AST while there were no effect on ALT. The only Pc-2 affected the histopathological features of the liver.

Structural Model of Developing Human Resources Performance: Empirical Study of Indonesia States Owned Enterprises

HAERANI, Siti,SUMARDI, SUMARDI,HAKIM, Wardhani,HARTINI, HARTINI,PUTRA, Aditya Halim Perdana Kusuma Korea Distribution Science Association 2020 The Journal of Asian Finance, Economics and Busine Vol.7 No.3

This study aims to analyze the effect of structural Person-Organization Fit and organizational justice on organizational commitment, job satisfaction, Organizational Citizenship Behavior and employee performance. This study is based on a quantitative approach by collecting data using a survey conducted on three SOE's companies in Indonesia that operate in Makassar City, namely Pelindo. Ltd (Port Company), PLN. Ltd (Electric Company) and Pertamina. Ltd (Oil and Gas Company), with a sample of 90 employees. The study population was all non-managerial permanent employees. Data analysis using Structural Equation Modeling. In structural relations, out of the nine direct tests, there were two insignificant relationships, and in all three hypotheses there was one not-supported hypothesis. When compared between person-organization Fit and Organizational Justice, it is found that organizational justice has a more critical role in building Human Resource performance compared to Person-Organization Fit, because organizational justice is better able to provide job satisfaction and make organizational commitment and OCB as a prerequisite for its formation to better Human Resources performance. With organizational justice, employees will feel more satisfied working, committed to the work and organization, and behaves as a supportive organizational citizen for the realization of the best performance for the interests of the organization going forward.

Development and characterization of flower and capsule in Borneo jewel orchid Macodes limii J.J. Wood and A.L. Lamb (Orchidaceae: Asparagales)

        Halyena Indan,Devina David,Roslina Jawan,Hartinie Marbawi,Jualang Azlan Gansau 국립중앙과학관 2021 Journal of Asia-Pacific Biodiversity Vol.14 No.2

Macodes limii J.J. Wood & A.L. Lamb is an endemic jewel orchid of Sabah in Borneo. The species hasunique characteristic with high potential to be commercialized as ornamental plant. However, it wasunderstudied due to its scarcity in nature, which can only be found at certain area in Sabah with ultramaficsoil. To understand the reproduction biology of this species, the present study was conducted todocument the developmental stages of flower and capsule to determine the right harvesting time forfurther use in seed germination study. Macodes limii was collected from its natural habitat and cultivatedex situ throughout this study. Flower development was recorded starting from inflorescence initiationuntil full bloom, which took over 54 days to complete. Flower was artificially pollinated, and capsule wasproduced within 22 days, and harvesting was performed prior to dehiscence. Seeds were asepticallycultured on half-strength Murashige and Skoog medium þ 3% (w/v) sucrose, and 29% of seeds weresuccessfully germinated after 24 weeks under continuous dark condition. The current findings arebeneficial as a reference to support the conservation efforts of this endemic species.

      • HPV Genotyping Linear Assay Test Comparison in Cervical Cancer Patients: Implications for HPV Prevalence and Molecular Epidemiology in a Limited-resource Area in Bandung, Indonesia

Panigoro, Ramdan,Susanto, Herman,Novel, Sinta Sasika,Hartini, Sri,Sahiratmadja, Edhyana Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2013 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.14 No.10

Background: Persistent infection with high risk human papillomavirus (hrHPV) is strongly associated with cervical cancer. Normal cervical cells may also harbor hrHPV, and detection of early hrHPV infection may minimize risk of cervical cancer development. This study aimed to compare two commercial HPV genotyping assays that may affordable for early screening in a limited-resource setting in Bandung, Indonesia. Materials and Methods: DNA from cervical biopsies with histologically confirmed as squamous cell cervical cacinoma were HPV genotyped by Linear Assay 1 (Roche Diagnostics, Mannheim, Germany) or Linear Assay 2 (Digene HPV Genotyping RH Test, Qiagen Gaithersburg, MD). In a subset of samples of each group, HPV genotype results were then compared. Results: Of 28 samples genotyped by linear assay 1, 22 (78.6%) demonstrated multiple infections with HPV-16 and other hrHPV types 18, 45 and/or 52. In another set of 38 samples genotyped by linear assay 2, 28 (68.4%) were mostly single infections by hrHPV type 16 or 18. Interestingly, 4 samples that had been tested by both kits showed discordant results. Conclusions: In a limited-resource area such as in Indonesia, country with a high prevalence of HPV infection a reliable cervical screening test in general population for early hrHPV detection is needed. Geographical variation in HPV genotyping result might have impacts for HPV prevalence and molecular epidemiology as the distribution in HPV genotypes should give clear information to assess the impact of HPV prophylactic vaccines.

Preventing Capital Flight to Reach Lucrative Investment In Indonesia

Muhammad BASORUDIN,R. Dwi Harwin KUSMARYO,Sri Hartini RACHMAD 한국유통과학회 2020 Asian Journal of Business Environment (AJBE) Vol.10 No.1

Purpose: This study aims to analyze the effect of macroeconomic and non-macroeconomic determinants of capital flight. Research design, data and methodology: With five determinants, this survey was conducted by Eviews 10, and the ordinary least squares (OLS) as a statistical method was applied for examining the research hypothesis. The five determinants are a budget deficit, economic growth, inflation rate, the exchange rate, and sovereign rating. The capital flight measurement uses the World Bank residual approach. The data derive from the Central Bank of Indonesia, BPS-Statistics Indonesia, OECD, and Moody‟s Investor Service. Results: The result considers that economic growth, the exchange rate, and the sovereign rating will decrease capital flight. In addition, the budget deficit and the inflation rate will increase capital flight. The sovereign rating decreases capital flight bigger than the other determinants. In addition, the exchange rate is statistically significant. Conclusions: The most influential problem of capital flight in Indonesia is because of non-macroeconomics factor political issue, corruption, bad regulation, and others. That‟s why the investment climate in Indonesia is still not secure. We propose that the regime would have to amend the business rule for reducing capital, raising the investment climate, and demonstrating the creative industry.
