      • THE IMPACT OF COMPARATIVE PRICE ON CONSUMER TOLERANCE FOR SERVICE FAILURE

        Hailong Yang,Yuanyu Zhang,Liangjing Che 글로벌지식마케팅경영학회 2018 Global Marketing Conference Vol.2018 No.07

This research was conducted in order to examine the effect of comparative price on consumers’ reactions to service failure in the loyalty program. The current study finds that under condition of lower level of persuasion knowledge, compared to single retail price, comparative price would mitigate consumers’ negative emotion in the context of service failure, which in turn improves customers’ tolerance. The authors test this prediction in two experiments. Experiment 1 aimed to provide an initial exploration of hypothesis by employing a between-subjects design. This experiment recruited undergraduate students at Suzhou University to complete an online survey. After reading the scenario of service failure, participants were asked to answer a series of questions about their intension of spreading negative word of mouth (NWOM). A one-way ANOVA on intention of spreading NWOM suggested that the NWOM activity was significantly lower in the group of comparative prices than in the group of single retail price. In experiment 2, the authors measured angry and intension to complain when participants finished reading the scenario of service failure. Furthermore, one week later the authors measured price tactic persuasion knowledge of participants. The bootstrap method (number of bootstrap samples = 5000, level of confidence = .95) was used. The results showed that customers’ angry level mediated the effect of comparative price on intension of complaint. The authors further conducted a mediated moderation analysis with the participants in the high- and low-persuasive-knowledge conditions. The results indicated the indirect effect of the comparative price on intention to complain was mediated by customers’ angry when they have low persuasive knowledge, whereas the mediation effect of customer’s angry level was no longer significant in the higher persuasive-knowledge condition. To summarize, this research suggested that comparative price would exert a marked impact on the tolerance of members of loyalty program in the context of service failure. The present paper adds to the existing comparative price literatures by confirming its impact on consumers’ judgment in the context of service failure even if they are all members of loyalty program and informed with information of discounted size in advance. Given the special meaning of NWOM and complaint, current paper provides implications for marketing practices.

      • Fluorescent Microarrays of <i>in Situ</i> Crystallized Perovskite Nanocomposites Fabricated for Patterned Applications by Using Inkjet Printing

        Liu, Yang,Li, Fushan,Qiu, Lichun,Yang, Kaiyu,Li, Qianqian,Zheng, Xin,Hu, Hailong,Guo, Tailiang,Wu, Chaoxing,Kim, Tae Whan American Chemical Society 2019 ACS NANO Vol.13 No.2

<P>Perovskite materials have exhibited promising potential for universal applications including backlighting, color conversion, and anticounterfeiting labels fabricated using solution processes. However, owing to the tendency of those materials to have uncontrollable morphologies and to form large crystals, they cannot be utilized in discontinuous microminiaturization, which is crucial for practical optoelectronic applications. In this research, combining the effects of adding polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP), precisely controlling the inkjet printing technique, and using a postprocessing procedure, we were able to fabricate <I>in situ</I> crystallized perovskite-PVP nanocomposite microarrays with perfect morphologies. The viscosity of the perovskite precursor increased with the addition of PVP, eliminating the outward capillary flow that induces the coffee-ring effect. In addition, because of the presence of metallic bonds with the C═O groups in PVP and the spatial confinement of such a polymer, we were able to fabricate regulated CsPbBr3 nanocrystals capped with PVP and with a uniform size distribution. The as-printed patterns showed excellent homogeneity on a macroscale and high reproducibility on a microscale; furthermore, those patterns were invisible in the ambient environment, compatible with flexible substrates, and cost-efficient to produce, indicating that this technique holds promising potential for applications such as anticounterfeiting labels.</P> [FIG OMISSION]</BR>

Study on failure warning of tool magazine and automatic tool changer based on tool-pulling force

Hailong Tian,Zhaojun Yang,Guofa Li,Chuanhai Chen 대한기계학회 2019 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.33 No.9

A tool magazine and automatic tool changer is used to store and change tools in a machining center. Its failures would increase the maintenance time and repair cost. For decreasing failures, an early warning system of failures can be used to detect characteristic signals which can reflect potential failures. The tool-pulling force is increasing to peak value instantly when the tool changing arm draws a tool holder out of a tool pocket. To predict failures, the tool-pulling force signals are analyzed and the relationship between the maximum tool-pulling force and the severity of the lock spring failure is established, then, calculation method of the tool-pulling force threshold of the lock spring failure which can lead to tool falling failures is developed and demonstrated. The verification testing results show that the failure warning method based on the tool-pulling force threshold is feasible to predict the tool falling failures.

Enhanced photocatalytic activity on elemental mercury over pink BiOIO3 nanosheets with abundant oxygen vacancies

        Yang Ling,Jiachen Li,Jiang Wu,Hailong Liu,Xu Mao,Yongfeng Qi,Qian Ma,Qizhen Liu,Zhanwei Qiao,Weiqun Chu 한국화학공학회 2022 Korean Journal of Chemical Engineering Vol.39 No.2

Elemental mercury removal in coal-fired power plants is the key to global mercury pollution control, and photocatalytic oxidation is an effective and stable method. As a typical bismuth-based photocatalyst, BiOIO3 has a large band gap which is not conducive to the absorption and utilization of visible light, and its specific surface area also limits the diffusion and adsorption of reactants. In this work, pink BiOIO3 (PB) was first prepared successfully via vacuum calcination under absolute pressure of 1*103 Pa. The specific surface area of pink BiOIO3 is significantly increased to 44.52m2/g, which is 1.5-times compared with the traditional BiOIO3 prepared by hydrothermal method (only 29.60 m2/g). Abundant oxygen vacancy defects exist on sample surface, and the formed local BiOI Zero-dimensional (0-D) nanodots provide heterojunction-like effect combined with the BiOIO3, obtaining better photocatalytic property in the oxidation of elemental mercury. The as-prepared pink BiOIO3 and the preparation technology also have strong application potential in the field of energy and environment.

Preliminary study on the thermal-mechanical performance of the U3Si2/Al dispersion fuel plate under normal conditions

Yang, Guangliang,Liao, Hailong,Ding, Tao,Chen, Hongli Korean Nuclear Society 2021 Nuclear Engineering and Technology Vol.53 No.11

The harsh conditions in the reactor affect the thermal and mechanical performance of the fuel plate heavily. Some in-pile behaviors, like fission-induced swelling, can cause a large deformation of fuel plate at very high burnup, which may even disturb the flow of coolant. In this research, the emphasis is put on the thermal expansion, fission-induced swelling, interaction layer (IL) growth, creep of the fuel meat, and plasticity of the cladding for the U3Si2/Al dispersion fuel plate. A detailed model of the fuel meat swelling is developed. Taking these in-pile behaviors into consideration, the three-dimensional large deformation incremental constitutive relations and stress update algorithms have been developed to study its thermal-mechanical performance under normal conditions using Abaqus. Results have shown that IL can effectively decrease the thermal conductivity of fuel meat. The high Mises stress region mainly locates at the interface between fuel meat and cladding, especially around the side edge of the interface. With irradiation time increasing, the stress in the fuel plate gets larger resulting from the growth of fuel meat swelling but then decreases under the effect of creep deformation. For the cladding, plasticity deformation does not occur within the irradiation time.

Allicin alleviates coronary atherosclerosis of mice via endothelial nitric oxide synthase(eNOS)/nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor(Nrf2)/heme oxygenase-1(HO-1) signaling pathway

Yang Jingyu,Si Hailong,Dong Bo,Qin Qin 한국응용생명화학회 2023 Applied Biological Chemistry (Appl Biol Chem) Vol.66 No.-

Purpose Endothelial progenitor cells (EPCs) have been revealed to interventions in atherosclerosis (AS) progressions. Traditional Chinese medicines (TCMs) have been discovered to modulate the functions of EPCs. Herein, effects of allicin on EPCs were explored in coronary atherosclerosis (CAS). Methods Allicin (5 or 10 mg/kg/d) was used to treat the ApoE−/− mice fed with high-fat diet (HFD. TC, TG, LDL-C, and HDL-C were examined. HE staining was applied for observation of CAS lesions. In vitro, EPCs were induced by ox-LDL and then treated with allicin and an eNOS inhibitor, L-NAME. Thereafter, the cell viability, apoptosis and migration were examined using CCK-8, flow cytometry and Transwell methods. Western blot was applied for evaluating eNOS, Nrf2 and HO-1 protein expression. NO production, MDA content, and SOD activity were also measured. Results Allicin inhibited CAS progression, decreased serum levels of TC, TG, and LDL-C but increased HDL-C. Moreover, counts of circulating EPCs, and the protein levels of eNOS, Nrf2 and HO-1 were increased by allicin treatment in mice fed with HFD. Allicin suppressed MDA contents but enhanced SOD activities. In vitro, allicin reversed the impacts of ox-LDL induction in EPCs, facilitating cell mobility and NO production, and decreasing apoptosis. L-NAME treatment reversed effects of allicin. Conclusion Allicin alleviated CAS progressions in mice, modulating the cell apoptosis and migration of EPCs via eNOS/ Nrf2/HO-1 pathway.

Optimization of Pine Pollen Fermentation Conditions Using Lactobacillus paracasei

Shanyan Yang,Hailong Li 한국식품과학회 2015 Food Science and Biotechnology Vol.24 No.1

To improve the nutritional value of pine pollen, a statistical experimental design strategy was applied to optimize the fermentation conditions of pine pollen using Lactobacillus paracasei Lc-3. Influence of the inoculum size, temperature, and initial pH on viable counts and crude protein production was evaluated using a Plaackett-Burman design using the steepest ascent method to approach the experimental design space. Factors were optimized using a Box-Behnken design and response surface methodology. A quadratic model was found to fit the viable counts and crude protein amounts. Optimum values of the tested variables for production of viable counts and crude protein were an inoculum size of 11.92%, temperature=39.60oC, and an initial pH of 7.22. Under optimized conditions, the viable count was 4.24×109 CFU/mL and the crude protein amount was 15.35% (dry matter). A single factor experiment as preliminary research for fermentation product treatment was performed.

Performance Analysis of Wide Magnesium Alloy Foil Rolled by Multi-Pass Electric Plastic Rolling

        Lipo Yang,Hailong Zhang,Gengliang Liu 대한금속·재료학회 2023 METALS AND MATERIALS International Vol.29 No.10

Wide magnesium alloy foil is usually difficult to roll due to severe anisotropy or texture. It has become the biggest obstacle to the traditional rolling process, although it can be realized through some special methods. Low efficiency and high cost limit its application. Aimed at this problem, a multi-pass electric plastic rolling process was designed to successfully roll the magnesium alloy foil from 1.0 to 0.13 mm. According to actual test results, the anisotropy and properties of magnesium alloy foil were analyzed when the pulse current densities were adjusted. Under the same temperature as the isothermal rolling process, the pure electric effect could contribute to remarkably improving the plasticity and rollability of magnesium alloy foil. Thus, it could minimize the action of Joule heat as much as possible to avoid surface oxidation and grain growth. In addition, the size effect of magnesium alloy foil should be considered for the electric plastic rolling. Practical measured data verified that varied pulse current densities played important roles in the performances of wide magnesium alloy foil when the grain size and anisotropy were online adjusted by the synergy of electric plastic effect and reduction rate.

Anisotropy evolution of wide magnesium alloy foils during continuous electroplastic rolling

Lipo Yang,Hailong Zhang,Gengliang Liu 대한기계학회 2023 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.37 No.4

Anisotropy or brittleness poses an obstacle to the rolling of wide magnesium alloy foils, particularly those with a thickness of 1.0 mm. To address this problem, a special electroplastic rolling (EPR) process was developed to provide a better method than traditional isothermal heat treatment. Actual measured results showed that the pulse current with high energy could rapidly adjust high brittleness and severe anisotropy. This condition was helpful in the plasticity and rollability of wide magnesium alloy foils during continuous EPR process. Finally, a 0.13 mm-thick magnesium alloy foil was successfully rolled through continuous EPR processes without any intermediate annealing or reheating in the furnace. Evidently, the developed method contributed to the best matching conditions between the pulse current and deformation parameters along different directions. Therefore, EPR is a promising technology for changing the anisotropy or brittleness of wide magnesium alloy foils online.

Food search and transport in red imported fire ants (Hymenoptera: Formicidae) under wet conditions

        Lin Jintao,Yang Xinya,Lyu Hailong,Chen Xuan,Wang Lei,Wang Cai,Wen Xiujun 한국응용곤충학회 2024 Journal of Asia-Pacific Entomology Vol.27 No.1

The red imported fire ant, Solenopsis invicta Buren, has invaded various wetlands such as beaches, swamps, and mangrove forests. We hypothesize that S. invicta can effectively forage food in these habitats. Here, the food searching and transport by S. invicta on each substrate (sand or soil with freshwater or artificial seawater) at different saturation levels (70%, 100%, 130%, or 160%) were evaluated. Ants walked on unsubmerged substrates (70%- and 100%-saturated) to search for food, and surprisingly, they swam and passed 130%- or 160%-saturated substrates that were submerged with thin layers of water. Saturation level may significantly affect duration of food search and/or transport, depending on substrate types. The number of foraging ants rapidly increased and decreased on the food-releasing platform located on the 70%-saturated substrate and remained stable on the platform located on the 100%-saturated substrate. However, only a few ants were found on the platform located on waterlogged substrates throughout the experiment. In addition, no food was successfully transported passing the waterlogged substrate. We also compared food search and transport among four substrates (sand or soil with freshwater or seawater) at the 70%- or 100%-saturation level. Ants spent similar time searching for food and transporting food on the platform, but minimal food was transported passing the soil with freshwater or seawater. Our results showed that S. invicta can successfully search for food but fail to transport food on waterlogged substrates. In addition, both substrate types and saturation level affected food transport under unsubmerged conditions.
