Super low temperature has many applications nowadays, from the chemical processing, automotives manufacturing, plastic recycling, etc. Considering of its wide application in the present and the future, study of the super-low temperature refrigeration system should be actively carried out. Super low state temperature can be achieved by using multi-stage refrigeration system. This paper present the development and testing of cascade refrigerator system for achieving super-low temperature. On this experiment, two different types of HCFCs refrigerants are utilized, R-22 and R-23 were applied for the high stage and the low-pressure stage respectively. The lowest temperature in the low-pressure evaporator that can be achieved by this cascade refrigeration system is down to -85℃. This experiment is aimed to study the effect of inlet pressure of the low-pressure stage evaporator and low-pressure stage compressors inlet pressure characteristics to the overall temperature characteristics of cascade refrigeration system.
Nonsaponin fractions of Korean Red Ginseng extracts prime activation of NLRP3 inflammasome

Background: Korean Red Ginseng extracts (RGE) have been suggested as effective immune modulators, and we reported that ginsenosides possess anti-inflammasome properties. However, the properties of nonsaponin components of RGE have not been well studied. Methods: To assess the roles of nonsaponin fractions (NS) in NLRP3 inflammasome activation, we treated murine macrophages with or without first or second inflammasome activation signals with RGE, NS, or saponin fractions (SF). The first signal was nuclear factor kappa-light-chain-enhancer of activated B cells (NF-${\kappa}B$)-mediated transcription of pro-interleukin (IL)-$1{\beta}$ and NLRP3 while the second signal triggered assembly of inflammasome components, leading to IL-$1{\beta}$ maturation. In addition, we examined the role of NS in IL-6 production and IL-$1{\beta}$ maturation in mice. Results: NS induced IL-$1{\beta}$ and NLRP3 transcription via toll-like receptor 4 signaling, whereas SF blocked expression. During the second signal, SF attenuated NLRP3 inflammasome activation while NS did not. Further, NS-injected mice presented increased IL-$1{\beta}$ maturation and IL-6 production. Conclusion: SF and NS of RGE play differential roles in the NLRP3 inflammasome activation. Hence, RGE can be suggested as an NLRP3 inflammasome modulator.
Murine γδ T Cells Render B Cells Refractory to Commitment of IgA Isotype Switching
Han, Hye-Ju,Jang, Young-Saeng,Seo, Goo-Young,Park, Sung-Gyoo,Kang, Seung Goo,Yoon, Sung-il,Ko, Hyun-Jeong,Lee, Geun-Shik,Kim, Pyeung-Hyeun 한국조명·전기설비학회 2018 한국조명·전기설비학회 학술대회논문집 Vol. No.
<P>γδ T cells are abundant in the gut mucosa and play an important role in adaptive immunity as well as innate immunity. Although γδ T cells are supposed to be associated with the enhancement of Ab production, the status of γδ T cells, particularly in the synthesis of IgA isotype, remains unclear. We compared Ig expression in T cell receptor delta chain deficient (TCRδ−/−) mice with wild-type mice. The amount of IgA in fecal pellets was substantially elevated in TCRδ−/− mice. This was paralleled by an increase in surface IgA expression and total IgA production by Peyer's patches (PPs) and mesenteric lymph node (MLN) cells. Likewise, the TCRδ−/− mice produced much higher levels of serum IgA isotype. Here, surface IgA expression and number of IgA secreting cells were also elevated in the culture of spleen and bone marrow (BM) B cells. Germ-line α transcript, an indicator of IgA class switch recombination, higher in PP and MLN B cells from TCRδ−/− mice, while it was not seen in inactivated B cells. Nevertheless, the frequency of IgA+ B cells was much higher in the spleen from TCRδ−/− mice. These results suggest that γδ T cells control the early phase of B cells, in order to prevent unnecessary IgA isotype switching. Furthermore, this regulatory role of γδ T cells had lasting effects on the long-lived IgA-producing plasma cells in the BM.</P>

This paper presents the experimental study on temperature distribution of two-stage cascade vapor-compression system for achieving super-low temperature. Two-stage cascade vapour compression cycle is a method to achieve super low temperature under -80℃. This system requires two different types of refrigerant at higher and lower stages. However, by the Montreal protocol, several refrigerants for the low-stage system as well as high stages have been banned due to its threat to ozone layer. Alternatives retrofit refrigerant for replacing CFC and HCFC lies from HFC to natural refrigerant. In this study, azeotropic zero-ODP refrigerant, R508B blend of two HFC refrigerant R23/R116 (46.0/54.0) was utilized in the low stage cycle, this refrigerant has advantages based on normal boiling point compare to its compositing element. On this experiment, cooling chamber was filled with ethyl alcohol 0, 10, 20, and 25 liter respectively as refrigerant load. By changing the volume of cooling chamber fluid, temperature distribution of the system was observed. More ethyl alcohol mass in the cooling chamber, longer steady state condition achieved. It is also found that the change of ethyl alcohol in the cooling chamber gives little effect on the final temperature distribution.
