To prospectively evaluate the performance of computed tomography perfusion imaging (CTPI) in predicting the early response to transarterial chemo-lipiodol infusion (TACLI) and survival of patients with colorectal cancer liver metastases (CRLM). Computed tomography perfusion imaging was performed before and 1 month after TACLI in 61 consecutive patients. Therapeutic response was evaluated on CT scans 1 month and 4 months after TACLI; the patients were classified as responders and non-responders based on 4-month CT scans after TACLI. The percentage change of CTPI parameters of target lesions were compared between responders and non-responders at 1 month after TACLI. The optimal parameter and cutoff value were determined. The patients were divided into 2 subgroups according to the cutoff value. The log-rank test was used to compare the survival rates of the 2 subgroups. Four-month images were obtained from 58 patients, of which 39.7% were responders and 60.3% were non-responders. The percentage change in hepatic arterial perfusion (HAP) 1 month after TACLI was the optimal predicting parameter (p = 0.003). The best cut-off value was -21.5% and patients who exhibited a ≥ 21.5% decrease in HAP had a significantly higher overall survival rate than those who exhibited a < 21.5% decrease (p < 0.001). Computed tomography perfusion imaging can predict the early response to TACLI and survival of patients with CRLM. The percentage change in HAP after TACLI with a cutoff value of -21.5% is the optimal predictor.

Quantitative real-time RT-PCR is considered to valuable method for the analysis of gene expression. But for the data accuracy of gene expression, the normalization of data using reference genes is essential. In this study, we focus on the analysis of the relative expression of nine commonly used candidate reference genes in the different developmental stages and female and male pupae/adults of Chilo suppressalis, and expression stabilities were analyzed by the ΔCt method, geNorm, NormFinder, and RefFinder. The results showed that H3 was the most stable reference genes in the different developmental stages while EF1 was the optimal genes in pupae/adult of different sexes of C. suppressalis. To validate, the expression profile of the gene encoding heat shock protein 60 (Hsp60) was investigated. The results showed that the transcription of target gene Hsp60 varied depending on the reference gene selected for normalization in different developmental stages, but the trend of expression of Hsp60 between the most stable reference gene combination and the least stable reference gene in pupae/adults of different sexes was the same. Therefore, it is imperative to select the reference genes to estimate target gene expression accurately in the specific experiment. This study provides scientific basis on functional analyses of the important genes contributed to the development and sex differentiation of C. suppressalis.

This paper deals with the model reference tracking control problem of continuous-time periodic linearsystems when the actuator occurs jumping fault. The main contribution is to formulate the parametric designalgorithm for the systems by utilizing the parametric solution of the generalized Sylvester matrix equations. Theexistence condition of the controller is deduced based on the Lyapunov stability theory. The controller consistsof the additive contribution of two terms: a feedback term and a feedforward term. The feedback term is thefeedback control law which can stabilize the system with finite expected cost. The feedforward term is the completeparametric feedforward tracking compensator. The simulation for flying around mission is carried out about twospacecrafts in elliptical orbit. The simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed approach.

Background and Objective: Perimenopausal depression is caused by the impaired function of the ovarium before menopause and with a series of symptoms. Electroacupuncture (EA) therapy has been demonstrated to improve clinically depression. However, the mechanism underlying its therapeutic activity remains unknown. This study aimed to investigat the effects of EA treatment on the hippocampal neural proliferation through Wnt signaling pathway. Methods: Chronic unpredictable mild stress (CUMS) combined with bilateral ovariectomy (OVX) were used to establish a rat model of perimenopausal depression. The open field test (OFT) and sucrose preference test (SPT) were used to assess depression-like behaviors in rats. ELISAs were used to measure estrogen (E2), luteinizing hormone (LH) and gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) levels in the serum. RT-PCR and Western blot assay were utilized for measuring the mRNA expressions and protein expressions of GSK-3β/β-catenin. Results: Four-week EA treatment at three points including “Shenshu” (BL23), “Baihui” (GV20) and “Sanyinjiao” (SP6) simultaneously ameliorated depression-like behaviors in rats with CUMS and OVX, whereas rescued the decreased serum level of E2 and prevented the increased serum levels of GnRH and LH. EA treatment ameliorated CUMS and OVX-induced alterations of glycogen synthase kinase-3b (GSK-3β) and β-catenin mRNA levels, β-catenin and phosphorylated β-catenin (p-β-catenin) protein levels. Conclusions: The results showed that EA treatment promoted hippocampal neural proliferation in perimenopausal depression rats via activating the Wnt/b-catenin signaling pathway, indicating that EA may represent an efficacious therapy for perimenopausal depression.
