        Aeromicrobium endophyticum sp. nov., an endophytic actinobacterium isolated from reed (Phragmites australis)

        A Gram-staining-positive, motile and short-rod-shaped actinobacterium designated 9W16Y-2T was isolated from surface- sterilized leaves of reed (Phragmites australis) collected from Taklamakan Desert in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, China. Colonies were pale greenish yellow, circular, smooth, and convex. The 16S rRNA gene sequence of strain 9W16Y-2T exhibited highest sequence similarities with Aeromicrobium camelliae CGMCC 1.12942T (99.0%) and Aeromicrobium erythreum NRRL B-3381T (97.2%). Phylogenetic analyses based on 16S rRNA gene sequences and single-copy phylogenetic marker genes (pMGs) showed that strain 9W16Y- 2T belonged to the genus Aeromicrobium and formed a monophyletic clade with Aeromicrobium camelliae CGMCC 1.12942T. Furthermore, average nucleotide identity (ANI) and DNA-DNA hybridization (DDH) clearly separated strain 9W16Y-2T from the other species of the genus Aeromicrobium with values below the thresholds for species delineation. The G+C content of the genomic DNA is 68.9 mol%. The diagnostic diamino acid of the cell-wall peptidoglycan was LLdiaminopimelic acid. The predominant menaquinone was MK-9(H4). The major fatty acids (> 10% of the total fatty acids) were C18:0 10-methyl (TBSA) (28.2%), C16:0 (21.0%), C16:0 2-OH (20.8%) and C18:1 ω9c (12.8%). The polar lipid profile comprised diphosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylcholine, phosphatidylinositol, an unidentified aminophospholipid and an unidentified lipid. Based on the phylogenic, phenotypic and chemotaxonomic features, strain 9W16Y-2T represents a novel species of the genus Aeromicrobium, for which the name Aeromicrobium endophyticum sp. nov. is proposed. The type strain is 9W16Y-2T (= CGMCC 1.13876T = JCM 33141T).

        Electrical current induced mechanism in microstructure and nano-indention of Al–Zn–Mg–Cu (AZMC) Al alloy thin film

        In this study, the microstructural variation and nano-indention of Al-5.7Zn-2.4Mg-1.5Cu (AZMC) thin film was investigated using DC electrical current at a density of 1000 A/cm^2. The results show that microstructural changes due to the electrical current involved both the solid solubility effect and enhanced diffusion. The electrical current drove the Al atoms and Cu atoms of the matrix from the cathode to the anode. After electrical current testing, precipitation phases (Al_2Cu; CuMgAl_2) had decomposed into the cathode matrix and MgZn phases had grown in the anode zones. Meanwhile, the current also caused the hardness of the thin film to decrease and affected both the texture and dynamic strain mechanism of nano-indention.

        Gratitude to Other’s Support and the Intent to Purchase the Other-gift

        이 연구는 타인의 도움에 대한 감사가 타인의 선물구매의도에 미치는 영향에서 답례적 타인선물 동기와 타인선물구매에서 느끼는 기쁨의 매개역할의 탐색에 목적을 두었다. 과거 연구들을 탐색하여 가설을 개발하고 설문지를 작성하여 배포하고 279부의 회수된 설문지 자료로 가설을 검증하고, 다음의 결과를 도출하였다. 첫째, 타인의 도움에 대한 감사가 답례적 타인선물 동기와 타인선물의 구매를 위한 지출에서 느끼는 기쁨에 긍정적인 영향을 주었다. 둘째, 답례적 타인선물 동기가 타인선물을 위한 구매지출에서 느끼는 기쁨에 긍정적인 영향을 주었다. 셋째, 그 기쁨이 타인의 선물구매의도에 긍정적인영향을 주었다. 마케터는 타인의 도움에 대한 감사에 초점을 두고 답례적 선물동기와 선물구매지출에서 느끼는 기쁨을 유도할 수 있는 방안에 주의해야 한다. This article aimed at examining the mediation role of reciprocal other-gift motivation and pleasure in spending for other-gift in the effect of gratitude to other’s support on the intent to purchase the other-gift. 279 questionnaire data used to verify hypotheses showed the following results. First, consumers’ gratitude to other’s support positively influences on the reciprocal other-gift motivation, the pleasure in spending for the other-gift and the intent to purchase the other-gift. Second, the reciprocal other-gift motivation has positive effect on the pleasure in spending for the other-gift. Third, the pleasure in spending for other-gift positively influences on the intent to purchase the other-gift. Marketers should give attention to inducing the reciprocal motivation and the pleasure in purchasing their products as the other-gift by focusing on the consumer’s gratitude towards other’s support.

      • Cohesion Metrics for Evaluating Semantic Web Ontologies

        With the widespread development of the Semantic Web, large-scale ontologies are being developed in more real-world applications to represent and integrate knowledge and data. There is an increasing need for measuring the cohesion of these ontologies for better understanding, maintenance, reuse and integration. The ontology cohesion metrics proposed in this paper can be used as a very useful complementarity of existing ontology cohesion metrics. Specifically, we first propose a set of evaluation metrics to measure the cohesion of ontologies based on directed acyclic graph. Following the framework for software measurement validation, we then evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed metrics theoretically. Finally, we conduct experiments using a set of classical ontologies; the results show that the proposed metrics are reasonable and effective.

        Generative Artificial Intelligence for Structural Design of Tall Buildings

        The implementation of artificial intelligence (AI) design for tall building structures is an essential solution for addressing critical challenges in the current structural design industry. Generative AI technology is a crucial technical aid because it can acquire knowledge of design principles from multiple sources, such as architectural and structural design data, empirical knowledge, and mechanical principles. This paper presents a set of AI design techniques for building structures based on two types of generative AI: generative adversarial networks and graph neural networks. Specifically, these techniques effectively master the design of vertical and horizontal component layouts as well as the cross-sectional size of components in reinforced concrete shear walls and frame structures of tall buildings. Consequently, these approaches enable the development of high-quality and high-efficiency AI designs for building structures.

        Recoil reduction design of gas-controlled side-jet gun based on bifurcated twophase flow model

        The high recoil force of a high-power gun produces a strong impact on the carrier, which severely limits the application of the high-power gun mounted on vehicles. A gascontrolled side-jet gun was designed to reduce the recoil force, and the gas-solid transient flow in the bifurcated tube of the gun was studied. First, a one-dimensional two-phase interior ballistics model was established considering the gas-solid coupling between the propellant gas and the valve in the front gas tube. Then, the propagation of the rarefaction wave in the barrel was studied, and the flow field distribution in the bifurcated tube was obtained. Finally, the mechanism of recoil reduction was analyzed. Results show that the bifurcated two-phase flow model can be used to accurately analyze the effect of the gas-controlled side-jet gun's parameters on the projectile velocity and the recoil reduction efficiency. The projectile velocities of the gascontrolled side-jet gun and the traditional gun are 955.7 m/s and 960 m/s, respectively. The projectile velocity loss of the gas-controlled side-jet gun is less than 0.5 %. The recoil momentum of the traditional gun and the gas-controlled side-jet gun are 538.62 N·s and 336.68 N·s, respectively. The recoil momentum of the gas-controlled side-jet gun decreases by 37.49 %. Additionally, the single firing time of the gas-controlled side-jet gun (18.91 ms) is less than that of the traditional single-barrel gun (more than 60 ms). Therefore, the newly designed gascontrolled side-jet gun significantly reduces the recoil momentum without losing the projectile velocity and continuous firing mode.

        Synthesis, Antibacterial Activity, and Structure–Activity Relationship of Fusaric Acid Analogs

        Forty-one fusaric acid analogs possessing a pyridine carboxylic acid scaffold have been synthesized. The antibacterial activity results demonstrated that compounds 5b, 7b, 8c, and 8d displayed strong antibacterial activities against Staphylococcus aureus ATCC25923 with minimum inhibitory concentrations (MICs) of 4–16 μg/mL. Molecular docking study indicated that these compounds have strong hydrogen-bonding interactions with TyrRS. Meanwhile, 8c and 8d showed promising antibacterial activities against Pseudomonas aeruginosa ATCC9027. Compound 4 exhibited pronounced antibacterial activities against a clinically isolated multidrug-resistant strain of Escherichia coli (MIC: 64 μg/mL as compared 64 μg/mL of levofloxacin and 1024 μg/mL of ceftriaxone sodium). Moreover, compound 17e displayed strong synergistic antibacterial effect with levofloxacin against the multidrug-resistant strain, decreasing the MIC value of levofloxacin to 1/16 of its original MIC. No obvious cytotoxic activities against LO2 was observed for compounds 4, 5b, 8c, 8d, 17d, and 17e at 50 μM. The preliminary structure–activity relationship of fusaric acid analogs was also discussed.

        Long Noncoding RNA NEAT1 Aggravates Aβ-Induced Neuronal Damage by Targeting miR-107 in Alzheimer’s Disease

        Purpose: Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is the most common neurodegenerative disease, with a rising prevalence worldwide. Longnoncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) have been found to play important roles in the development and treatment of AD. However, the exactrole of lncRNA nuclear enriched abundant transcript 1 (NEAT1) in neuronal damage in AD is largely unknown. Materials and Methods: The AD model was established in SH-SY5Y and SK-N-SH cells via treatment with amyloid β1-42 (Aβ). Theexpression of NEAT1 and microRNA-107 (miR-107) was measured by quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction. Cell viabilityand apoptosis were detected by MTT assay, immunocytochemistry, and flow cytometry. The expression of phosphorylated tauprotein (p-Tau) was measured by Western blot. The interaction between NEAT1 and miR-107 was explored by bioinformaticsanalysis, luciferase activity, and RNA immunoprecipitation assays. Results: NEAT1 expression was enhanced in Aβ-treated SH-SY5Y and SK-N-SH cells, and its knockdown attenuated Aβ-inducedinhibition of viability and promotion of apoptosis and p-Tau levels. NEAT1 was indicated as a decoy of miR-107. miR-107 abundancewas reduced in Aβ-treated cells, and its overexpression reversed Aβ-induced injury. Moreover, interference of miR-107 abatedsilencing of NEAT1-mediated inhibition of neuronal damage in Aβ-treated SH-SY5Y and SK-N-SH cells. Conclusion: LncRNA NEAT1 aggravated Aβ-induced neuronal damage by sponging miR-107, indicating a novel avenue for treatmentof AD.
