        Recently the integrated applicable interfacing technologies using IEEE1394 and UTP cables are considered to be applied to the apartments architecture This paper proposes a wiring system for a high-speed and long-distance data transmission in the future home network system using balanced cables As interfacing a medium UTP-Cat 5 is known as a cable used for LAN connection between PCs Although there are broadband transmission media such as coaxial cables and optical fibers, blanced cables are used because they are cheaper and easer to install The proposes a wiring system enables simultaneous transmission of the IEEE1394 signals of A/V-Data for Digital Consumer Electronics and the Ethernet signals of PCs LAN data using only on UTP-Cat.5 cable, which consists of four unshieled twisted pairs. In order to test the feasibility of this wiring system, we have evaluated the signal transmission and EMC characteristics Furthermore, for the purpose of experimentation, the wiring system is actually installed and evaluated by eye-diagram and BER. The obtained results show that the proposed wiring system can transmit IEEE1394 signals and Ethernet signals simultaneously using 10∼100m UTP-Cat.5 cables at 100Mbps.

        Regulation of Acetylation of Histone Deacetylase 2 by p300/CBP-Associated Factor/Histone Deacetylase 5 in the Development of Cardiac Hypertrophy

        <P><B><U>Rationale:</U></B></P><P>Histone deacetylases (HDACs) are closely involved in cardiac reprogramming. Although the functional roles of class I and class IIa HDACs are well established, the significance of interclass crosstalk in the development of cardiac hypertrophy remains unclear.</P><P><B><U>Objective:</U></B></P><P>Recently, we suggested that casein kinase 2α1–dependent phosphorylation of HDAC2 leads to enzymatic activation, which in turn induces cardiac hypertrophy. Here we report an alternative post-translational activation mechanism of HDAC2 that involves acetylation of HDAC2 mediated by p300/CBP-associated factor/HDAC5.</P><P><B><U>Methods and Results:</U></B></P><P>Hdac2 was acetylated in response to hypertrophic stresses in both cardiomyocytes and a mouse model. Acetylation was reduced by a histone acetyltransferase inhibitor but was increased by a nonspecific HDAC inhibitor. The enzymatic activity of Hdac2 was positively correlated with its acetylation status. p300/CBP-associated factor bound to Hdac2 and induced acetylation. The HDAC2 K75 residue was responsible for hypertrophic stress–induced acetylation. The acetylation-resistant Hdac2 K75R showed a significant decrease in phosphorylation on S394, which led to the loss of intrinsic activity. Hdac5, one of class IIa HDACs, directly deacetylated Hdac2. Acetylation of Hdac2 was increased in Hdac5-null mice. When an acetylation-mimicking mutant of Hdac2 was infected into cardiomyocytes, the antihypertrophic effect of either nuclear tethering of Hdac5 with leptomycin B or Hdac5 overexpression was reduced.</P><P><B><U>Conclusions:</U></B></P><P>Taken together, our results suggest a novel mechanism by which the balance of HDAC2 acetylation is regulated by p300/CBP-associated factor and HDAC5 in the development of cardiac hypertrophy.</P>

      • Spectral domain optical coherence tomography with balanced detection using single line-scan camera and optical delay line.

        <P>We propose a spectral domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT) system that uses a single line-scan detection scheme for balanced detection. Two phase-opposed spectra, generated by two optical fiber couplers, were detected by using a spectrometer with fast optical switching. A 2.69 km optical fiber was introduced to provide a proper time delay to prevent phase errors caused by the difference in measurement time between the two opposing spectra and unstable output voltages for controlling the galvano-scanner. Hence, a phase difference of ?? was obtained between the spectra over the sample depth without a phase error, which improved sensitivity by approximately 6 dB compared to that of conventional SD-OCT. We directly showed and compared the OCT images before and after applying the proposed balanced detection method in a phantom and in vivo sample.</P>

      • 만성 골수성 백혈병의 가속기에서의 동종 골수이식

        목적: CML 환자들을 대상으로 실시한 동종 골수이식의 후향적 분석을 통해서 만성기, 가속기, 급성기에 따른 생존 기간의 차이와 가속기에 시행한 이식에서 장기 생존과 관련된 요인들을 분석하고 특히 이중에서 진단 후 이식까지의 기간에 따른 생존 기간의 차이와 전처지 방법에 따른 생존 기간의 차이를 알아보고자 하였다. 대상: 1986년 9월부터 1997년 12월까지 성모병원 가톨릭 조혈모세포이식센터에 입원하여 조직적합성 항원(HLA)이 일치하는 형제로부터 동종 골수 이식을 시행 받은 94명의 성인 환자를 대상으로 하였다. 의무 기록을 후향적으로 분석하여 만성기, 가속기, 급성기에 골수 이식을 시행 받은 환자의 생존 기간을 분석하고, 24예의 가속기 환자에서의 진단 후 이식까지의 기간과 전처치 방법에 따라 생존에 차이가 있는가를 분석하였다. 관찰 기간은 1-144개월(중앙값 21개월)이었고 최소 추적 관찰 기간은 9개월이었다. 결과: 전체 환자 94예 중 만성기에 이식을 받은 환자의 5년 무병 생존율은 48%이고, 가속기에 받은 환자는 36%, 그리고 급성기는 14%였으며 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 보였다(p=0.0015). 만성기에 이식을 받은 환자의 5년 전체 생존율은 62%이고, 가속기에 받은 환자는 53%, 그리고 급성기는 14%였다(p=0.0119). 가속기 환자 24예 중 진단 후 이식까지의 기간이 1년 미만인 경우(n=9)의 5년 생존율은 65%, 1년 이상인 경우(n=15)는 48%였으며, 진단부터 이식까지의 기간이 짧을수록 생존 기간이 증가되는 경향을 보였다(p=0.0734). 전처치 방법에 따른 생존 기간의 차이는 TBI를 포함한 군(n=18)과 Bu+Cy 군(n=6)에서 차이가 없었다(p=0.6829). 가속기에서 이식 받은 환자 24예 중 재발은 10예에서 나타났으며 이 중 3명은 공여자 림프구 투여 혹은 인터폐론 치료로 재관해가 유도되어 생존하고 있다. 급성 및 만성 GVHD가 있었던 경우재발률은 31%(5/16)인 반면, GVHD가 나타나지 않았던 경우는 62%(5/8)의 재발률을 보였다. 3예에서 이식과 관련된 합병증으로 사망하였으며 각각 뇌막염, 급성 GVHD와 동반된 간질성 폐렴, 그리고 생착 부전이 1예씩이었다. 결론: 가속기에서 골수이식을 시행하는 경우 장기생존율 53%의 성적은 고무적인 것으로 적극적으로 이식을 권장할만 하다. 또한 가속기에서 이식을 할 경우 가급적 진단부터 1년 이내의 조기에 이식을 실시하는 것이 생존율을 증가시킬 것으로 사료되며,이식 후 재발의 예방을 위한 면역 치료에 대한 지침을 개발 하는 것이 중요하리라 생각된다. Background: Allogeneic bone marrow transplantation (BMT) remains the gold standard therapy for chronic myelogenous leukemia (CML). The best results are obtained when patients receive the transplant during the chronic phase (CP) of the disease. However, some patients may progress to accelerated phase (AP) or blastic phase (BP) before transplantation. Methods: Between 1986 and 1997 we performed allogeneic BMT for 94 patients with CML from HLA-matched sibling donors. We reviewed records of 24 patients receiving transplants during the AP of CML. The median age of patients was 29(17~38), and median interval from diagnosis to transplants was 14.5 months(3~46). TBI-containing regimen(n=18) and BuCy(n=6) were used as conditioning regimen. GVHD prophylaxis consisted of CsA+MTX(n=20) and CsA(n=4). Median mononuclear cell dose infused was 1.2×10^(8)/kg(1.04~2). Results: 5-year probabilities of overall survival and disease-free survival were 53% and 36%, respectively. Early transplanted patients within 1 year after diagnosis had a trend toward to better survival, but there was no statistical significance(65% vs 48%; p=0.07). Among 10 relapsed patients, 3 are alive in remission after donor lymphocyte infusion and/or interferon therapy. Three patients died of transplantation-related mortality including meningitis(n=1), interstitial pneumonia with acute GVHD(n=1), and graft failure(n=1). Conclusion: Because the results of allogeneic BMT for patients in AP are promising, we suggest that BMT should be actively recommended even in AP as early as possible for better outcome. The high probability of relapse in AP patients will be required the intensified conditioning regimen or posttransplant immunotherapy. Relapse can be treated with interferon or with infusion of donor lymphocytes. The adoptive immunotherapy will improve the survival for patients receiving transplants in AP CML.

      • 조직적합항원 부분 일치 혈연간 동종 골수이식

        연구배경: 백혈병에서 동종 골수이식은 관해 후 치료요법 및 불응성 또는 재발성 질환에서 장기 무병생존을 기대할 수 있는 치료 방법이지만 HLA가 일치하는 공여자를 못 찾는 경우가 많다. 형제자매, 부모, 자식 등 혈연간 HLA 부분 일치 공여자는 거의 모든 환자에서 찾을 수 있기 때문에 이들을 조혈모세포 공여자로 이용하면 동종 골수이식의 기회를 많은 환자에게로 확대할수 있다. 저자들은 본 센터에서 시행한 혈연간 HLA 부분 일치 동종 골수이식의 성적을 알아보고 향후 해결해야할 문제점을 알아보고자 한다. 방법: 환자는 모두 9예로서 1예를 제외하고 불응성 또는 재발성 급성 백혈병(n=5) 이거나 만성 골수성 백혈병 급성기(n=3) 상태였다. 공여자는 아버지가 2예, 형제자매 4예, 그리고 딸 3예 이었다. 전처치는 9예중 7예에서 전신방사선 조사(total body irradiation, TBI) 가 포함 되었으며 2예에서는 TBI 없이 알킬화 제제를 병합하였고 5예에서 ATG를 사용하였다. 8예의 환자에서 rhG-CSF로 가동된 혈액 조혈모세포와 골수를 이용하여 평균 11.31(4.46-16.8)×106/kg의 CD34 양성 세포를 주입하였고, T 세포는 부분 제거를 하여 평균 5.05(0.9-5.9.66)×106/kg의 CD3 양성 세포를 주입하였다. 전 예에서 GvHD 예방 목적으로 면역억제제를 투여하였다. 결과: 한 환자에서 중성구가 500/uL 이상 회복한 후 다시 감소하여 거부반응을 보였으며 나머지 8예의 환자에서는 10일에서 22일 사이에 중성구가 500uL 이상 회복하였고 혈소판수가 20.000/ul 이상 회복한 환자는 4예였다. grade Ⅱ 이상의 급성 이식편대 숙주병은 3예에서 발생하였다. 9예 중 2예가 생존해 있으며 각각 이식 후 100일, 60일째 합병증 또는 재발 없이 생존해 있다. 7예에서 사망하였는데 1예는 급성 GvHD, 1예는 만성 GvHD로 사망하였다. 기타 사인으로는 재발, 거부반응, 혈전성 혈소판 감소성 자반증. 간질성 폐렴, 및 폐렴(원인균 미상)이 각각 1예씩 있었다. 결론: 혈연간 HLA 부분 일치 동종 골수 이식에서 이식편의 생착은 표준 동종 골수이식과 유사하며 GvHD 발생이 많지 않았고 강력한 전처치로 인한 심각한 골수 외 독성도 적어서 HLA가 일치하는 공여자가 없는 경우 선택할 수 있는 치료 방법으로 사료된다. Background: The application of allogeneic bone marrow transplantation (BMT) for the treatment of patients with hematological malignancies is hampered by the lack of availability of HLA-matched donors. By contrast, nearly all patients have HLA -haploidentical relatives who would serve as a donor. In this study we tried to achieve successful transplantation in adult patients with leukemia with hematopoietic stem cells from partially mismatched related donors. Methods: Nine patients, 17-44 years old, underwent the partially mismatched related donor-BMT. All patients but one were in advanced disease; five patients with acute myelogenous leukmia (n=4) and acute lymphoblastic leukemia (n=1) were in relapse or refractory state; three patients with chronic myelogenous leukemia were in lymphoid blastic crisis. GvHD prophylaxsis consisted of partial T cell depletion followed by the systemic immunosuppression. Results: All patients but one, whose graft was rejected, established sustained engraftment by a median day of 15. Severe regimen-related toxicity was not evident in the gastrointestinal of hepatic systems. Acute GvHD, grade≥Ⅱ occurred 3/9 patients and two patients are alive and disease-free for 100 and 60 days respectively Conclusion: The early mortality was high in this study in high risk patients. But the high engraftment rate, virtual elimination of acute GvHD greater than grad Ⅱ, and acceptable conditioning-related toxicity suggest that this approach should be applied in leukemia patients who do not have an HLA-matched donor.

      • Synthesis and characterizations of MnO2/multi-wall carbon nanotubes nanocomposites for lithium-air battery.

        <P>In this work, rechargeable lithium-air battery using MnO2/MWNTs nanocomposites as a catalyst was studied. MnO2/MWNTs nanocomposites were synthesized by a hydrothermal method, and their physical and chemical properties were investigated. X-ray diffraction (XRD) was used to examine crystallinity and morphology was investigated by transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Charge-discharge behavior and cell impedance with electrolyte replacement were investigated, and charge-discharge capacity decreased with cycles mainly due to the decomposition of carbonate-based electrolyte.</P>

      • The efficacy and safety of the WOMEN CARE(SJ global, bucheon) for washing the vagina: Randomized Controlled Study

        Objective: To analyze the efficacy and safety of the WOMEN CARE(SJ global, bucheon). Methods: This study is conducted by randomized controlled trial of 20 patients with Women care(Tap water) and 22 patients with control group(Dressing with Povidone iodine) from September 1, 2019 to Febrary 28, 2020 in Hanyang University Hospital. Each group patients were visited our center four times. At first visit(VISIT 1), patients were examed of STD 12 and cervical culture. About 7 days later(VISIT 2), they were visited and grouped by Women care or povidone iodine dressing by randomized selection. They were dressing by each method. After 2 days later(VISIT 3) from VISIT2, cervical culture was done. After 2 days later(VISIT4) from VISIT3, cervical culture was done finally. Results: There were no significant differences in demographic and clinical characteristics between the two groups. We compared the results of cervical culture gram positive bacteria at VISIT 1 and VISIT3. The quantitative decrease of bacteria was seen the 6 patients of 20 patients in WOMEN CARE group. In the control group, The quantitative decrease of gram positive bacteria was seen the 5 patients of 22 patients. Conclusion: By this study, there was no significant side effect of WOMEN CARE; Vaginal itching sensation, redness and burning sensation. We confirmed the safety and efficacy of the WOMEN CARE.
