Chromatin Structural Rearrangement during Dedifferentiation of Protoplasts of Cucumis sativus L.
Vladan Ondřej,Miloslav Kitner,Ivana Doležalová,Petr Nádvorník,Božena Navrátilová,Aleš Lebeda 한국분자세포생물학회 2009 Molecules and cells Vol.27 No.4
This paper reports on the structural rearrangement of satellite DNA type I repeats and heterochromatin during the dedifferentiation and cell cycling of mesophyll protoplasts of cucumber (Cucumis sativus). These repeats were localized in the telomeric heterochromatin of cucumber chromosomes and in the chromocenters of interphase nuclei. The dramatic reduction of heterochromatin involves decondensation of subtelomeric repeats in freshly isolated protoplasts; however, there are not a great many remarkable changes in the expression profile. In spite of that, reformation of the chromocenters, occurring 48 h after protoplast isolation, is accompanied by recondensation of satellite DNA type I; however, only partial reassembly of these repeats was revealed. In this study, FISH and a flow cytometry assay show a correlation between the partial chromocenter and the repeats reassembly, and with the re-entry of cultivated protoplasts into the cell cycle and first cell division. After that, divided cells displayed a higher variability in the expression profile than did leaves’ mesophyll cells and protoplasts.
CloudEVBench – Virtualization Technology Efficiency Testing Tool for the Distributed Infrastructures
Jan Fesl,Jiří Cehák,Marie Doležalová,Jan Janeček 보안공학연구지원센터 2016 International Journal of Grid and Distributed Comp Vol.9 No.8
The virtualized systems are today a very popular topic and their using plays the great role in current datacenters. The virtualization efficiency is a very important aspect in the real system deployment. Some studies have been published about this topic [1], mainly are based on various benchmarking techniques and are integrated into the specialized testing tools. Such a benchmark tool, which is able to simulate the behavior of a real computing system under the stress of different virtualization configurations, can e.g. well answer the question how many virtual machines could be simultaneously executed on it and how big the virtualization overhead is [2]. We developed and applied a new benchmark tool, which is able to measure the virtualization efficiency and overhead in the virtualization environment.
New Approach for Virtual Machines Consolidation In Heterogeneous Computing Systems
Jan Fesl,Jiří Cehák,Marie Doležalová,Jan Janeček 보안공학연구지원센터 2016 International Journal of Hybrid Information Techno Vol.9 No.12
The energy consumption is one of the most important factors in the virtual machines deployment in the current data centres. Various studies proved that the energy aware management of the virtual machines can reduce the total energy consumption about tens of percents. We developed the new approach, based on the distributed algorithm, which is able to consolidate the virtual machines between various virtualization nodes without the central coordinator. The input data for this algorithm is collected online from the electronic wattmeters, which are placed before the energy input of each virtualization node.

Objectives: This study investigated associations between ethnicity and malaria awareness in East Nusa Tenggara Province (ENTP), Indonesia. Methods: A community-based cross-sectional study was conducted upon 1503 adults recruited by multi-stage cluster random sampling. A malaria awareness questionnaire was used to collect data, according to which participants were classified as aware or unaware of malaria. Logistic regression was applied to quantify the strength of associations of factors with malaria awareness. Results: The participation rate in this study was high (99.5%). The participants were distributed relatively evenly among the Manggarai, Atoni, and Sumba ethnicities (33.0, 32.3, and 30.2%, respectively). Malaria awareness was significantly different amongst these groups; it was most common in the Manggarai ethnicity (65.1%; 95% confidence interval [CI], 59.9 to 70.3) and least common in the Sumba ethnicity (35.0%; 95% CI, 27.6 to 42.4). The most prominent factor influencing the malaria awareness in the Sumba and Manggarai ethnicities was education level, whilst it was socioeconomic status (SES) in the Atoni ethnicity. The likelihood of malaria awareness was significantly higher in adults with an education level of diploma or above (adjusted odds ratio [aOR], 21.4; 95% CI, 3.59 to 127.7 for Manggarai; aOR, 6.94; 95% CI, 1.81 to 26.6 for Sumba). Malaria awareness was significantly more common amongst high-SES adults in the Atoni group (aOR, 24.48; 95% CI, 8.79 to 68.21). Conclusions: Low education levels and low SES were prominent contributors to lower levels of malaria awareness in rural ENTP. Interventions should focus on improving malaria awareness to these groups to support the Indonesian government’s national commitment to achieve a malaria elimination zone by 2030.

Mn substituted ZnO nanoparticles with compositional formula Zn_(1-x)Mn_xO where x = 0.00, 0.04 and 0.08were synthesized by sol-gel route. All the samples sintered at 650 ℃ for 12 h in a furnace followed by furnace cooling up to room temperature. X-ray diffraction (XRD) studies shows the presence of hexagonal crystal structure as same as parent compound (ZnO) in all samples. The lattice parameters ‘a’ and ‘c’were determined from XRD data and found that they increase linearly with the Mn content, which suggests that doped Mn ions go to Zn sites. Grain size, X-ray density and Atomic packing fraction (APF)were evaluated using XRD data and found that grain size increases while X-ray density and Atomic packing fraction (APF) decreases with dopant concentration increases. The functional groups and chemical interactions of Mn substituted Zinc oxide samples were also determined at various peaks using FTIR data and observed the presence of function groups in the samples. Results of such an investigation presented in this paper.
