        LncRNA H19/miR-29b-3p/PGRN Axis Promoted Epithelial-Mesenchymal Transition of Colorectal Cancer Cells by Acting on Wnt Signaling

        This investigation was aimed at working out the combined role of lncRNA H19, miR-29b and Wnt signaling in the development of colorectal cancer (CRC). In the aggregate, 185 CRC tissues and corresponding para-carcinoma tissues were gathered. The human CRC cell lines (i.e. HT29, HCT116, SW480 and SW620) and normal colorectal mucosa cell line (NCM460) were also purchased. Si-H19, si-NC, miR-29b-3p mimics, miR-29b-3p inhibitor, si-PGRN and negative control (NC) were, respectively, transfected into the CRC cells. Luciferase reporter plasmids were prepared to evaluate the transduction activity of Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway, and dual-luciferase reporter gene assay was arranged to confirm the targeted relationship between H19 and miR-29b-3p, as well as between miR-29b-3p and PGRN. Finally, the proliferative and invasive capacities of CRC cells were appraised through transwell, MTT and scratch assays. As a result, overexpressed H19 and down-expressed miR-29b-3p displayed close associations with the CRC patients’ poor prognosis ( P < 0.05). Besides, transfection with si-H19, miR-29b-3p mimic or si-PGRN were correlated with elevated E-cadherin expression, decreased snail and vimentin expressions, as well as lessmotivated cell proliferation and cell metastasis ( P < 0.05). Moreover, H19 was verified to directly target miR-29b-3p based on the luciferase reporter gene assay ( P < 0.05), and miR-29b-3p also bound to PGRN in a direct manner ( P < 0.05). Finally, addition of LiCl (Wnt/β-catenin pathway activator) or XAV93920 (Wnt/β-catenin pathway inhibitor) would cause remarkably altered E-cadherin, c-Myc, vimentin and snail expressions, as well as significantly changed transcriptional activity of β-catenin/Tcf reporter plasmid ( P < 0.05). In conclusion, the lncRNA H19/miR-29b-3p/PGRN/Wnt axis counted a great deal for seeking appropriate diagnostic biomarkers and treatment targets for CRC.

      • A Crystalline Plasticity Finite Element Method for Simulation of the Plastic Deformation of AZ31 Magnesium Alloys

        In this paper, a constitutive framework based on a crystalline plasticity model is employed to simulate the plastic deformation of AZ31 magnesium alloy, which posses the hexagonal close packed (HCP) crystal structure. Dislocation slip and mechanical twinning are taken into account in the model. The successive integration method is used to determine the active slip systems, and the contribution of twinning to the grain reorientation is treated by the PTR method. The FE model is introduced into ABAQUS/Explicit through a user material subroutine (VUMAT). Three deformation processes of AZ31 magnesium alloy, including tension, compression and a stamping process, are simulated with the present method. The simulation results are compared with experiment and those presented in the literature.

        Experimental Studies on Shear Behavior of Sand-Suction Caisson Wall Interface under Variable Normal Load and Penetration Rate

        Shear characteristics of the interface between sand and the suction caisson wall play animportant role in determining the friction resistance along the suction caisson wall. In thisstudy, a variable normal load (VNL) reflecting the effects of the penetration depth andinstallation rate of a suction caisson is applied using the torsional interface shear apparatus toexamine the interface shear behavior. Results show that the interface friction coefficientdecreases with the increase of the normal stress and shearing rate until reaching a criticalvalue. When the friction coefficient reaches the critical value, the friction coefficient changeslittle with the increase of normal stress. The variation of the friction coefficient caused by theseepage flow and penetration rate should be considered for calculating the frictional forcealong the caisson wall. Given the same shearing rate, the normalized efficiency parameter ofthe interface under the VNL is higher than that obtained under the CNL. The suctioncalculated based on the test results of this study is in good agreement with that from the Tenbyproject, indicating that our findings are reliable and beneficial to analyze the installationprocess of the suction caisson.

        Application of Neural Network Based on Real-Time Recursive Learning and Kalman Filter in Flight Data Identification

        The process of obtaining flight data from flight test is complex and costly, which makes it difficult to identify aerodynamic parameters. Therefore, Cessna172 flight simulator was used for flight data extraction, which ensures the convenience, efficiency and economy of the test. To obtain aerodynamic model, based on the idea of machine learning, a recurrent neural network was used to process multi-dimensional nonlinear flight test data, and a real-time recursive learning algorithm was proved to be suitable for dynamic training. Due to the large amount of state parameter data generated by aircraft, which will cause the real-time recursive learning algorithm to train slowly. So, Kalman filter algorithm was introduced for system identification. Considering validity analysis, the comparative verification method was used to verify system identification model. Results show that the aircraft aerodynamic and aerodynamic moment models have good applicability and can be popularized and applied.

        Determination of Maximum Penetration Depth of Suction Caissons in Sand

        The suction caisson is a large top-closed cylindrical steel structure in diameter, short in length and much thinner in skirt wallthickness. The total resistance of the suction caisson during installation consists of the tip resistance and the skirt wall friction. However, since the thickness of the skirt wall is very small, the skirt wall friction may produce additional vertical stress and shearstress in soil at the skirt tip level, and this additional vertical stress and shear stress will contribute to the increase in the skirt tipresistance. At the same time, seepage induced by suction also causes the tip resistance to reduce significantly. A modified slip-linefield is proposed in this study estimating the tip resistance in terms of the slip-line theory. The expression obtaining the minimumsuction to install the suction caisson is also proposed in terms of the force equilibrium. In addition, the critical suction is determinedbased on the mechanism of sand piping. Thus, the maximum penetration depth of the suction caisson can be reached when the criticalsuction equals the minimum suction. Results from calculations of the minimum suction and the maximum penetration depth havebeen proved to be in a good agreement with the measured data.

        A 1,3-bis[(3,3-dimethylindolin-2-ylidene)methyl]squaraine (ISQ) dye sensitized ZnO nanocompo-sites via two di®erent preparation methods including hydrothermal and ultrasonic sensitizationprocesses are discussed in this paper. The as-prepared composites were characterized by the X-raydi®raction (XRD), UV-Vis di®use re°ectance spectroscopy (DRS), Raman spectroscopy, andtransmission electron microscopy (TEM). Based on the XRD patterns and TEM images, the ISQ/ZnO nanocomposites still kept the characteristic peaks and the basic morphology of ZnO and ISQdye. The photocatalytic activity of ISQ/ZnO nanocomposites was investigated by degradingmethylene blue (MB) under visible-light illumination. Compared with the MB self-degradation rate,the photocatalytic activity of the ISQ/ZnO composites was enhanced remarkably. The ISQ/ZnOnanocomposites fabricated by ultrasonic sensitization method exhibited excellent photocatalyticdegradation rate, approximately 20% higher than that of the hydrothermal sensitization one.

      • Crystal plasticity modeling and neutron diffraction measurements of a magnesium AZ31B plate: Effects of plastic anisotropy and surrounding grains

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>This study used <I>in-situ</I> neutron diffraction measurements and Elastic ViscoPlastic Self-Consistent polycrystal plasticity model, which incorporates a Twinning and DeTwinning scheme (denoted by EVPSC-TDT), to examine the macro-and micro-mechanical behaviors of a rolled AZ31B plate subjected to uniaxial tension. Three specimens were specifically designed for minimum, maximum and intermediate twinning: (1) loading along the rolling direction, (2) loading along the plate normal, and (3) loading along the direction 45° with respect to the plate normal. Apart from the macroscopic stress strain response, the measured diffraction intensities and internal elastic strains were obtained to examine the activities of the deformation modes at the grain level. The diffraction intensity evolution signaled the volume fraction change of twinning, while the internal elastic strain evolution designated the stress partitioning among the grain orientations. The effect of the surrounding grains on the development of the internal elastic strain was investigated by identifying the corresponding deformation mechanisms. Notably, the corresponding modeling work revealed that the EVPSC-TDT model permitted the prediction of the strain hardening and anisotropic behavior along the directions with minimum, maximum and intermediate twinning at the macroscale, and the evolution of the diffraction intensities and internal strains at the microscale. The results provide a physical understanding of the effects of the load direction, texture and surrounding grains on the role of the deformation modes in hexagonal close-packed polycrystalline materials.</P>

      • Infrared Image Edge Detection Based on Morphology-Canny Fusion Algorithm

        Effectively extracting the contour edge of the defect in the infrared image can realize the recognition of the geometrical features of the defect. In view of the traditional Canny edge detection algorithm in the Gauss filter variance and high and low threshold selection need artificial intervention, does not have the adaptive ability, and its defects in the gradient calculation, proposed a method based on the improved Canny operator and image morphological fusion edge detection method. Using the improved Canny operator and image morphology to edge detection, the simulation results show that the algorithm has good anti noise ability, effectively improve the accuracy and integrity of the edge detection in the infrared image, and achieve a better extraction of geometric features of the edge of the defect.
