Multi-objective intelligent cooperative design for interference fit of the conical sleeve

        Ke Ning,Jianmei Wang,Pu Li,Dan Xiang,Dingbang Hou 대한기계학회 2021 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.35 No.8

This paper deals with the multi-objective intelligent cooperative optimization for interference fit of conical sleeve. The influence of various factors on contact pressure of conical sleeve was quantitatively analyzed, and the relationship among multi-objectives and multivariables was comprehensively built. Take the cone sleeve of oil film bearing as the research object, the key factors of the cone sleeve were determined with a combination of actual situations, and its sample data was obtained by central composite test design. Considering the multi-objective involving yield strength, torque and mass, the approximate model of the response surface based on the kriging algorithm was given. Then, a multi-objective intelligent cooperative design method for interference fit of the cone sleeve was established by solving the NSGA-II algorithm. Example analysis has shown that such a method makes up for the deficiency of theoretical design to ignore the stress concentration problem, and its accuracy is 32 times that of the BP neural network algorithm. Finally, the experiments verified the correctness of this method.

Effect of bridge lateral deformation on track geometry of high-speed railway

        Hongye Gou,Longcheng Yang,Dan Leng,Yi Bao,Qianhui Pu 국제구조공학회 2018 Steel and Composite Structures, An International J Vol.29 No.2

This paper presents an analytical model to analyze the mapping relationship between bridge lateral deformation and track geometry of high-speed railway. Based on the rail deformation mechanisms, the deformation of track slab and rail at the locations of fasteners are analyzed. Formulae of rail lateral deformation are derived and validated against a finite element model. Based on the analytical model, a rail deformation extension coefficient is presented, and effects of different lateral deformations on track geometry are evaluated. Parametric studies are conducted to evaluate the effects of the deformation amplitude, fastener stiffness and mortar layer stiffness on the rail deformation. The rail deformation increases with the deformation of the girder, and is dependent on the spacing of the fasteners, the elastic modulus of the rail's material, and the moment of inertia of the rail's section.

Bidirectional two-sample mendelian randomization analysis identifies causal associations between age at menarche and sarcopenia-related traits

        Fan Wei,Gu Peng,Pu Bin,Yue Dan,Xin Qiao,Zheng XiaoHui,Zeng ZhanPeng,Fan Shaoyong 한국유전학회 2023 Genes & Genomics Vol.45 No.8

Background Observational studies have shown that the age of menarche is associated with sarcopenia, but confounding factors make the causal relationship difficult to infer. Objective Therefore, we conducted a bidirectional two-sample Mendelian randomized (MR) analysis to evaluate the potential causal relationship between age at menarche and sarcopenia-related traits (hand grip strength, lean mass, walking pace). Methods We obtained the latest aggregate statistics from the Genome-wide association studies (GWAS) database on the age of menarche of 182,416 participants from ReproGen, the appendicular lean mass of 244,730 participants from EMBL’s European Bioinformatics Institute, the left-hand grip strength of 401,026 participants, the right-hand grip strength of 461,089 participants and the usual walking pace of 459,915 participants from the UK Biobank. The inverse variance weighting (IVW) method and other MR methods were used to evaluate the bidirectional causal relationship between the age of menarche and sarcopenia. Results The forward MR results showed that the age of menarche predicted by the gene was positively correlated with left-hand grip strength (IVWβ=0.041, P = 2.00 × 10−10), right-hand grip strength (IVWβ=0.053, P = 1.97 × 10−18), appendicular lean mass (IVWβ=0.012, P = 4.38 × 10−13) and usual walking pace (IVWβ=0.033, P = 1.62 × 10−8).In the reverse MR analysis, we also found that the usual walking pace was positively correlated with the age of menarche predicted by genes (IVWβ=0.532, P = 1.65 × 10−4). Still, there was no causal relationship between grip strength and appendicular lean mass and the age at menarche. Conclusion Our results show that earlier menarche will increase the risk of sarcopenia. In addition, people with higher muscle function tend to have menarche later. These findings may provide a reference for prevention strategies and interventions for menarche in advance and sarcopenia.

Resource Allocation and Offloading Decisions of D2D Collaborative UAV-assisted MEC Systems

Jie Lu,Wenjiang Feng,Dan Pu 한국인터넷정보학회 2024 KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Syst Vol.18 No.1

In this paper, we consider the resource allocation and offloading decisions of device-to-device (D2D) cooperative UAV-assisted mobile edge computing (MEC) system, where the device with task request is served by unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) equipped with MEC server and D2D device with idle resources. On the one hand, to ensure the fairness of time-delay sensitive devices, when UAV computing resources are relatively sufficient, an optimization model is established to minimize the maximum delay of device computing tasks. The original non-convex objective problem is decomposed into two subproblems, and the suboptimal solution of the optimization problem is obtained by alternate iteration of two subproblems. On the other hand, when the device only needs to complete the task within a tolerable delay, we consider the offloading priorities of task to minimize UAV computing resources. Then we build the model of joint offloading decision and power allocation optimization. Through theoretical analysis based on KKT conditions, we elicit the relationship between the amount of computing task data and the optimal resource allocation. The simulation results show that the D2D cooperation scheme proposed in this paper is effective in reducing the completion delay of computing tasks and saving UAV computing resources.

      • Association Between the Ku70-1310C/G Promoter Polymorphism and Cancer Risk: a Meta-analysis

        Xu, Lu,Ju, Xiao-Bing,Li, Pu,Wang, Jue,Shi, Zhu-Mei,Zheng, Ming-Jie,Xue, Dan-Dan,Xu, Yan-Jie,Yin, Yong-Mei,Wang, Shui,You, Yong-Ping Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2012 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.13 No.2

Ku70 plays an important role in DNA double-strand break repair. Studies revealing conflicting results on the role of the Ku70-1310C/G promoter polymorphism on cancer risk led us to perform a meta-analysis to investigate this relationship. Ten case-control studies with 2566 cases and 3058 controls were identified. Odds ratios (ORs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were used to assess the strength of associations. The overall results suggested no association between the Ku70-1310C/G promoter polymorphism and total cancer risk. However, on stratified analysis, significantly increased risks were observed among the Asian population (GG vs. CC: OR=1.50, 95%CI=1.10-2.06; GG vs. CC/CG: OR=1.47, 95%CI=1.07-2.01) and population-based case-control studies (GG vs. CC: OR=1.57, 95%CI=1.12-2.22; CG vs. CC: OR=1.35, 95%CI=1.11-1.64; CG/GG vs. CC: OR=1.37, 95%CI=1.14-1.65). Additionally, variant genotypes were associated with a significantly increased breast cancer risk (GG vs. CC: OR=1.80, 95%CI=1.26-2.56; GG vs. CC/CG: OR=1.40, 95%CI=1.01-1.95).

      • RASSF1A Gene Methylation is Associated with Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma Risk in Chinese

        Wu, Kun,Xu, Xiao-Ning,Chen, Yu,Pu, Xiao-Lin,Wang, Bo-Yuan,Tang, Xiao-Dan Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2015 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.16 No.6

In order to explore the association between RASSF1A methylation and nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) risk of Chinese, we carried out a meta-analysis with searches of PubMed, Web of Science, ProQest and Medline databases. Ultimately, 14 articles were identified and analysised using R Software (R version 3.1.2) including meta packages. Overall, we found a significant relationship between RASSF1A methylation and NPC risk (OR 30.7; 95 % CI, 16.71~56.23; z=11.0591; p<0.0001) in a fixed effects model and (OR 32.1; 95% CI, 14.27~72.01; z=8.3984; p<0.0001) in a random effects model pooled. In tissue and NP brushings groups, similar results were found. Hence, our study identified a strong association between RASSF1A methylation and NPC and highlighted a promising potential for RASSF1A methylation in NPC risk prediction of Chinese.

Thanks a lot Sir for your kind intimation! Dr. Pithwa

        Lunli Xie,Jun Zhu,Shunhong Luo,Yu Xie,Dan Pu 대한척추외과학회 2018 Asian Spine Journal Vol.12 No.1

We analyzed dose-dependent effects of vancomycin on wound infection bacteria and investigated the relationship between dose and microbial imbalances in patients treated with intrawound vancomycin powder during spine surgery. Numerous trials have confirmed that using intrawound vancomycin powder during spine surgery may decrease postoperative wound infection rates. However, potential risks include changes in wound infection bacteria, inhibition of bone fusion, and systemic toxicity. We searched PubMed for articles published since October 2016 with the following terms: “local vancomycin” or “intrawound vancomycin” or “intraoperative vancomycin” or “intrawound vancomycin” or “topical vancomycin” and “spinal surgery” or “spine surgery.” We also screened the reference lists of included articles for additional studies and extracted data related to dose, infecting bacteria, sample size, infection rate and types, location of spine surgery, and perioperative antibiotics used. Our review includes one prospective and nine retrospective studies. Overall, 1 or 2 g local vancomycin powder was used in 2,394 patients. Gram-negative bacteria were dominant in patients in whom 1 g vancomycin powder was used, whereas gram-positive bacteria were dominant in those in whom 2 g powder was used. The exact mechanism underlying this dose-dependent trend remains unclear, although it may be attributed to the pharmacological characteristics of vancomycin. The included studies showed that trends in infection bacteria may change after the use of topical vancomycin powder. In addition, the observed increase in gram-negative bacteria when intrawound vancomycin powder is used has generated considerable attention. The present results differ from previous results but do not provide additional information regarding vancomycin dose and microbial changes in infected wounds. Additional large randomized controlled trials are needed to determine the relationship between vancomycin dose and the types of wound infection bacteria in patients treated with intrawound vancomycin powder during spine surgery.
