Due to the variety of household electric devices and different power consumption habits of consumers at present, general home energy management (HEM) systems suffer from the lack of dynamic identification of various household appliances and a unidirectional information display. This study presented a set of intelligent interconnection network systems for electric appliances, which can measure the power consumption of household appliances through a current sensing device based on OSGi platform. The system establishes the characteristics and categories of related electric appliances, and searches the corresponding cluster data and eliminates noise for recognition functionality and error detection mechanism of electric appliances by applying the clustering algorithm. The system also integrates household appliance control network services so as to control them according to users` power consumption plans or through mobile devices, thus realizing a bidirectional monitoring service. When the system detects an abnormal operating state, it can automatically shut off electric appliances to avoid accidents. In practical tests, the system reached a recognition rate of 95%, and could successfully control general household appliances through the ZigBee network.

Eriophyoid mites inhabit Yushan canes at elevations from 1650 to 3400 m in Taiwan. A total of 1491 eriophyoidmite specimens collected between 2001 and 2008 from18 sites in Taiwan belonging to 10 genera and 15 specieswere examined and recorded to evaluate the relationships between species composition and environmentalfactors. The environmental factors assessed consisted of climate data, cane leaf length, and vegetation type. Among the 15 species, Abacarus panatics Kefier, 1977 and Tetra yushania Huang, K.W., 2001. Eriophyoid mitesof Taiwan: description of eighty-six species from the Tengchih area. Bull. Natl. Mus. Nat. Sci. 14, 1–84 occur atall 18 survey sites. Canonical correspondence analysis was used to analyze the relationships among sites,eriophyoid mite occurrences, and environmental variables. Eriophyoid mite species composition and plantcommunity types were analyzed using non-metric multidimensional scaling (MDS). Canonical correspondenceanalysis (CCA) indicated that temperature and leaf length were major factors that influenced changes ineriophyoid mite assemblages. MDS results showed that eriophyoid mite species composition is unrelated toplant community types. The distribution patterns of the 15 eriophyoid mites is hypothesized to be randomizedby forest fires initially and subsequently influenced by temperature and leaf length.
Resource Management in 5G Mobile Networks: Survey and Challenges

With the rapid growth of network traffic, a large number of connected devices, and higher application services, the traditional network is facing several challenges. In addition to improving the current network architecture and hardware specifications, effective resource management means the development trend of 5G. Althoughmany existing potential technologies have been proposed to solve the some of 5G challenges, such as multipleinput multipleoutput (MIMO), softwaredefined networking (SDN), network functions virtualization (NFV), edge computing, millimeterwave, etc., research studies in 5G continue to enrich its function and move toward B5G mobile networks. In this paper, focusing on the resource allocation issues of 5G core networks and radio access networks, we address the latest technological developments and discuss the current challenges for resource management in 5G.

Objective: Patients with opioid use disorder (OUD) have impaired attention, inhibition control, and memory function. The aldehyde dehydrogenase 2 (ALDH2 ) gene has been associated with OUD and ALDH2 gene polymorphisms may affect aldehyde metabolism and cognitive function in other substance use disorder. Therefore, we aimed to investigate whether ALDH2 genotypes have significant effects on neuropsychological functions in OUD patients undergoing methadone maintenance therapy (MMT). Methods: OUD patients undergoing MMT were investigated and followed-up for 12 weeks. ALDH2 gene polymorphisms were genotyped. Connors’ Continuous Performance Test (CPT) and the Wechsler Memory Scale-Revised (WMS-R) were administered at baseline and after 12 weeks of MMT. Multivariate linear regressions and generalized estimating equations (GEEs) were used to examine the correlation between the ALDH2 genotypes and performance on the CPTs and WMS-R. Results: We enrolled 86 patients at baseline; 61 patients completed the end-of-study assessments. The GEE analysis showed that, after the 12 weeks of MMT, OUD patients with the ALDH2 *1/*2+*2/*2 (ALDH2 inactive) genotypes had significantly higher commission error T-scores (p = 0.03), significantly lower hit reaction time T-scores (p = 0.04), and significantly lower WMS-R visual memory index scores (p = 0.03) than did patients with the ALDH2 1 */*1 (ALDH2 active) genotype. Conclusion: OUD patients with the ALDH2 inactive genotypes performed worse in cognitive domains of attention, impulse control, and memory than did those with the ALDH2 active genotype. We conclude that the ALDH2 gene is important in OUD and is associated with neuropsychological performance after MMT.
A Novel Single-Phase Soft-Switching Unipolar PWM Inverter

A novel single-phase soft-switching unipolar PWM inverter (SSUPI) using a simple auxiliary resonant unit is proposed. All main switches of high-frequency arm operate at zero-voltage-switching (ZVS) turn-on, while the auxiliary switches operate at zero-current-switching (ZCS) turn-off. All main switches of low-frequency arm operate at 60 ㎐ to greatly reduce switching losses. As a result, commutations of the main power devices occur with low losses. Consequently, higher efficiency is achieved. Moreover, a unipolar PWM scheme is used to reduce the output voltage harmonics. Some experimental results of the proposed SSUPI, rated 500 W and operated at 40 ㎑, are presented for demonstration.

This study describes a novel algorithm for optimizing the quality yield of silicon wafer slicing. 12 inch wafer slicing is the most difficult in terms of semiconductor manufacturing yield. As silicon wafer slicing directly impacts production costs, semiconductor manufacturers are especially concerned with increasing and maintaining the yield, as well as identifying why yields decline. The criteria for establishing the proposed algorithm are derived from a literature review and interviews with a group of experts in semiconductor manufacturing. The modified Delphi method is then adopted to analyze those results. The proposed algorithm also incorporates the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) to determine the weights of evaluation. Additionally, the proposed algorithm can select the evaluation outcomes to identify the worst machine of precision. Finally, results of the exponential weighted moving average (EWMA) control chart demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed AHP-based algorithm in effectively selecting the evaluation outcomes and evaluating the precision of the worst performing machines. So, through collect data (the quality and quantity) to judge the result by AHP, it is the key to help the engineer can find out the manufacturing process yield quickly effectively.

Background/Aims: The aim of this study was to investigate whether genetic variations at positions -1082, -819, and 592 in the interleukin (IL)-10 promoter affect IL-10 production in children with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). Methods: Ninety-four children with IBS and 102 children as healthy controls (HCs) were enrolled. Genomic DNA was extracted, and IL-10 -1082, -819, and -592 polymorphisms were detected by direct sequencing from all participants. Peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) from 46 IBS children and 38 HCs were isolated and cultured with and without 5 ng/mL Escherichia coli lipopolysaccharide (LPS). IL-10 levels in the culture supernatants were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Results: There were no significant differences in the distribution of IL-10 -1082, -819, and -592 polymorphisms or in the allele and haplotype frequencies between IBS children and HCs. PBMCs from children with IBS had significantly lower IL-10 levels after LPS stimulation than PBMCs from HCs (p=0.011); however, LPS-induced IL-10 levels in PBMCs with different genotypes of -819 and 592 polymorphisms were not significantly different between IBS patients and HCs. Conclusions: Although significantly lower LPS-induced IL-10 production by PBMCs was noted, it is unlikely that IL-10 production was fully genetically determined in our IBS children. The single factor that lies at the core of Taiwan's remarkable economic growth is sustained export growth. During the past twenty-five years, the balance of trade between the U.S. and Taiwan has its share of volatility. Taking variables from different theories, we employ the instrument variable and the VAR model to dissect the problem. It ought to be pointed out that the private sector interest rate instead of the official rate plays a key role in the model. The substantial investment in mainland China from Taiwan has distorted the trade balance picture.

This paper presents a very interesting result: through applying the modified R/S technique (statistically robust) recently developed by Lo (1991) and using fifteen-minute interval data, it is found that both NYSE and NASDAQ stock returns exhibit the phenomenon of long term memory during different time intervals. Hence, an abnormal profit is quite possible for certain time intervals during a trading day.
