Urquijo, P.,Barberio, E.,Adachi, I.,Aihara, H.,Arinstein, K.,Bakich, A. M.,Belous, K.,Bhardwaj, V.,Bischofberger, M.,Bozek, A.,Brad,ko, M.,Browder, T. E.,Chao, Y.,Chen, A.,Cheon, B. G.,Chistov, R American Physical Society 2010 Physical review letters Vol.104 No.2
<P>We present the partial branching fraction for inclusive charmless semileptonic B decays and the corresponding value of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix element vertical bar V-ub vertical bar, using a multivariate analysis method to access similar to 90% of the B -> X(u)l nu phase space. This approach dramatically reduces the theoretical uncertainties from the b-quark mass and nonperturbative QCD compared to all previous inclusive measurements. The results are based on a sample of 657 X 10(6) B (B) over bar pairs collected with the Belle detector. We find that Delta B(B -> X(u)l nu; p(l)*(B) > 1.0 GeV/c) = 1.963X(1 +/- 0.088(stat) +/- 0.081(syst)) X 10(-3). Corresponding values of vertical bar V-ub vertical bar are extracted using several theoretical calculations.</P>

<P><B>Abstract</B></P><P>We have studied hadronic <I>τ</I> decay modes involving an <I>η</I> meson using 490 fb−1 of data collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e− collider. The following branching fractions have been measured: B(τ−→K−ηντ)=(1.58±0.05±0.09)×10−4, B(τ−→K−π0ηντ)=(4.6±1.1±0.4)×10−5, B(τ−→π−π0ηντ)=(1.35±0.03±0.07)×10−3, B(τ−→π−KS0ηντ)=(4.4±0.7±0.2)×10−5, and B(τ−→K∗−ηντ)=(1.34±0.12±0.09)×10−4. <P>Using a 492 fb{-1} data sample collected near the Upsilon(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e{+}e{-} collider, we observe the decay B{0}-->ppK*0 with a branching fraction of (1.18{-0.25}{+0.29}(stat)+/-0.11(syst))x10{-6}. We study the decay dynamics of B{0}-->ppK*0 and compare with B{+}-->ppK*+. The K*0 meson is found to be almost 100% polarized (with a fraction of (101+/-13+/-3)% in the helicity zero state), while the K*+ meson has a (32+/-17+/-9)% fraction in the helicity zero state. The direct CP asymmetries for B{0}-->ppK*0 and B{+}-->ppK*+ are measured to be -0.08+/-0.20+/-0.02 and -0.01+/-0.19+/-0.02, respectively. In addition, we report improved measurements of the branching fractions B(B{+}-->ppK*+)=(3.38{-0.60}{+0.73}+/-0.39)x10{-6} and B(B{0}-->ppK{0})=(2.51{-0.29}{+0.35}+/-0.21)x10{-6}, which supersede our previous measurements.</P>

<P>We search for the charmless B-o decay with final state particles p (Lambda) over bar pi(-)gamma using the full data sample that contains 772 x 10(6)B (B) over bar pairs collected at the Upsilon(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e(+)e(-) collider. This decay is predicted to proceed predominantly via the b -> s gamma radiative penguin process with a high energy photon. No significant signal is found. We set an upper limit of 6.5 x 10(-7) for the branching fraction of B-o -> p (Lambda) over bar pi(-)gamma at the 90% confidence level.</P>

<P><B>Abstract</B></P><P>We report the observation of B0 decays to the K+π−π0 final state using a data sample of 78 fb−1 collected by the Belle detector at the KEKB e+e− collider. With no assumptions about intermediate states in the decay, the branching fraction is measured to be (36.6−4.3+4.2±3.0)×10−6. We also search for <I>B</I> decays to intermediate two-body states with the same K+π−π0 final state. Significant <I>B</I> signals are observed in the ρ(770)−K+ and K*(892)+π− channels, with branching fractions of (15.1−3.3−1.5−2.1+3.4+1.4+2.0)×10−6 and (14.8−4.4−1.0−0.9+4.6+1.5+2.4)×10−6, respectively. The first error is statistical, the second is systematic and the third is due to the largest possible interference. Contributions from other possible two-body states will be discussed. No <I>CP</I> asymmetry is found in the inclusive K+π−π0 or ρ−K+ modes, and we set 90% confidence level bounds on the asymmetry of −0.12<ACP<0.26 and −0.18<ACP<0.64, respectively.</P>

<P>We report the first observation of a b-->u type charmless baryonic B decay, B+-->pppi(+), as well as b-->s type B0-->ppK0 and B+-->ppK(*+) decays. The analysis is based on a 78 fb(-1) data sample recorded on the Upsilon(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at KEKB. We find B(B+-->pppi(+))=(3.06(+0.73)(-0.62)+/-0.37)x10(-6), B(B0-->ppK0)=(1.88(+0.77)(-0.60)+/-0.23)x10(-6), and B(B+-->ppK(*+))=(10.3(+3.6+1.3)(-2.8-1.7))x10(-6). We also update B(B+-->ppK+)=(5.66(+0.67)(-0.57)+/-0.62)x10(-6) and present an upper limit on B(B0-->ppK(*0)) at the 90% confidence level. A common feature of the observed decay modes is threshold peaking in baryon pair invariant mass.</P>

<P>We present a search for a non-Standard-Model invisible particle X-0 in the mass range 0.1-1.8 GeV/c(2) in B+ -> e(+)X(0) and B+ -> mu X-+(0) decays. The results are obtained from a 711 fb(-1) data sample that corresponds to 772 x 10(6) B (B) over bar pairs, collected at the Upsilon(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB e(+)e(-) collider. One B meson is fully reconstructed in a hadronic mode to determine the momentum of the lepton of the signal decay in the rest frame of the recoiling partner B meson. We find no evidence of a signal and set upper limits on the order of 10(-6).</P>

<P>The branching fractions of the Upsilon(1S) inclusive decays into final states with a J/psi or psi(2S) are measured with improved precision to be B Upsilon(1S) -> J/psi + anything = (5.25 +/- 0.13(stat) +/- 0.25(syst) x 10(-4) and B Upsilon(1S) -> psi(2S) + anything = (1.23 +/- 0.17(stat) +/- 0.11(syst)) x 10(-4). The first search for Upsilon(1S) decays into XYZ states that decay into a J/psi or a psi(2S) plus one or two charged tracks yields no significant signals for XYZ states in any of the examined decay modes, and upper limits on their production rates in Upsilon(1S) inclusive decays are determined.</P>
