In this paper, applying the concept of VS adaptive filter algorithm to the Burg algorithm which is commonly used to calculate the reflection coefficients in the adaptive lattice filter, a new VS adaptive lattice algorithm is proposed. As the results of theoretical analysis and computer simulations, it is proved that the convergence properties of the new VS adaptive lattice algorthm are relatively higher than those of the conventional Burg algorithm.
Lattice Filter를 사용한 Adaptive Noise Cancelling에 관한 연구

The performance characteristic of an adaptive noise canceller(ANC) designed with a lattice filter is discussed. Its convergence speed and noise elimination rate are remarkably increased in compariosn with ANC using the time-delay-line filter. Moreover its stability is considerably improved and the way which an optimal order of the filter can be determined is found.

For the poles close to z=1 on the z-plane the realizations of second-order subsections of narrow-band lowpass digital filters are very sensitive to the coefficients rounding and have large roundoff noise. In this paper the realization method of Bhuyan and Chatterji's structure is studied and the error analysis of the structure that has not been investigated is given. Results on the error analysis of the structure are compared with other realization methods and we concluded that this method has fairly good results.
Adaptive Noice Cancelling을 이용한 Adaptive Notch Filter에 관한 연구

An adaptive notch filter can be obtained if the sinusoidal wave is applied to the reference input of an adaptive noise canceller. The advantages of this from of notch filter are that it offers easy control of bandwidth, an infinite null, and the caperbility of adaptively tracking the exact frequency of reference. In this paper, these advantages are verified through the computer simulation.
適應 Lattice Filter의 收斂特性에 關한 硏究

The convergence properties of Burg algorithm, a typical algorithm by which the reflection coefficient of adaptive lattice filter would be obtained, are discussed. Applying the μ-algorithm to Burg algorithm, a lattice μ-algorithm for higher speed of convergence is proposed. As a result of theortical analysis and computer simulation, it is proved that the proposed algorithm has a remarkably high speed of convergence.

Applying the gradient search technique to the two-dimensional lattice filter which was proposed by Parker and Kayran, a new two-dimensional adaptive lattice algorithm by which the reflection coefficients are recursively obtained is derived, and convergnce properties of new algorithm are studied in this paper. As a result of computer simulation, it is proved that the convergence speed of two-dimensional adaptive lattice μ algorthm is relatively higher than that of two-dimensional adaptive lattice algorithm when the value of μ is small.

N/A Surgical porto-syitemic shurlt is usually performed in patients who have bled from esophageal varices, Patency of the shunt generally prevents further bleeding; whereas, thrombosis exposes the patients to the risk of renewed and often life-threetening hemorrhage. Asaessment of shunt patency is therefore imyortant in the follow up of these patiensts. We asseased patency of squgical parto-aystemic shunts in five patients using Doppler ultrasonography. Of the five, one patient received a side-to-side partacaval shunt operation, one an end-to-side portacval Shunt,one a graft-interpoaitioning mesocaval shunt and two patients received a distal spIenarenal (Warren) shunt operation. In all patients, flow signal through the shunt was detected by Doppler ultrasonography. Four of five patent shuts were directly seen. In three patients color Doppler ultrasonography was performed and color flow eignals were detected, In one patients, who received side-to-side portacaval shunt operation, and another, who received graft-interpositioning mesocaval shunt operation, the flow signal of the portal vein showed reve direction of flow and a phasic pattern influenced by cardiac pulsativn, which was similar with the flow signaI of inferior vena cava. We concluded that Doppler ultraeonogrephy is a simple, noninvasive and very useful procedure to assess the pitecy of photo-systemic shunt.
