Statistical Characterization of a 3-D Propagation Model for V2V Channels in Rectangular Tunnels
Avazov, Nurilla,Islam, S. M. Riazul,Park, Daeyoung,Kwak, Kyung Sup IEEE 2017 IEEE antennas and wireless propagation letters Vol.16 No.-
<P>In this letter, we investigate the statistical characterization of a 3-D propagation model for multiple-input–multiple-output vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communications inside a rectangular tunnel under nonisotropic scattering conditions. The proposed model captures the spatial, temporal, and the frequency statistical distributions of the received multipath signals. A generalized analytical expression is derived for the space–time–frequency correlation function and thoroughly investigated. We analyze the impact of various model parameters, including antenna element spacing and tunnel width, on the V2V channel statistics.</P>
Multi-Cell MIMO Cooperation for OFDM-Based Broadcast Services and Its Outage Probability
AVAZOV, Nurilla,KIM, Yun Hee,SONG, Iickho The Institute of Electronics, Information and Comm 2009 IEICE TRANSACTIONS ON COMMUNICATIONS - Vol.92 No.3
<P>In this letter, we propose a multi-cell cooperation method for broadcast packet transmission in the OFDM-based cellular system with multiple transmit antennas. In the proposed method, to transmit two streams of spatially demultiplexed or transmit diversity coded symbols, we divide a coded packet into subparts to each of which different cell group and antenna pairs are assigned. It is shown that the proposed method reduces the outage probability with only negligible increase in channel estimation.</P>
Inter-cell Cyclic Delay and Transmit Diversity for MIMOOFDM Broadcasting in Cellular Environments
Nurilla Avazov,Jin-soo Wang,Yun Hee Kim 대한전자공학회 2008 ICEIC:International Conference on Electronics, Inf Vol.1 No.1
Future mobile communications require to support broadcast services for efficient transmission of multimedia data. For the services, OFDM transmission using cyclic delay diversity (CDD) among the base stations has been proposed to improve the diversity performance at the cell boundary. In this paper, we combine CDD with transmit diversity (TD) code to improve both the symbol-level diversity and code-level diversity at the cell boundaries. In the method, cyclic delays are applied not only among the neighboring base stations but also among the transmit antennas transmitting the same TD symbols for four transmit antenna case. The diversity performance is investigated with the probability of the capacity in outage under different multipath intensity profiles. It is shown that the proposed method provides a steeper slope of outage probability than the method applying cyclic delays without TD coding.

In this paper, we propose a new methodology for accurately removing shadows on modern buildings in the presence of a moving object in the scene. There has been a keen interest in utilizing shadow detection in many computer vision fields such as object recognition and tracking. Geometry features of the shadow removal system are used to detect the candidate shadow pixels of the proposed method. Our framework is able to achieve good performance in addressing multiple shadow problems, by reducing background surface similarity and ghost artifacts. Experimental results are derived from a widely used dataset of shadow removal performance. Analyses demonstrate that our technique effectively recognizes and evacuates shadowed pixels in items following smart city environments, for example, as in smart houses, conference halls or several indoor video surveillance systems.
Moments-Based Performance Analysis of Multihop Communications with Sequential Relay Selection
Kamol Almuradov,Nurilla Avazov,Seong Ro Lee,Yun Hee Kim 대한전자공학회 2009 ITC-CSCC :International Technical Conference on Ci Vol.2009 No.7
In this paper, we analyze the performance of a multihop system in which a relay is selected sequentially among multiple non-regenerative relays in each hop. We employ multiple antennas at the destination to remove the bottleneck at the last hop caused by the sequential relay selection proposed. By deriving the moments of an upper-bound on the end-to-end signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) using order statistics, we provide a bound on the average symbol error probability of MPSK which can be applied for arbitrary numbers of relays and hops.
