      • The Emerging of Seiyu : Concerning the Relationship between Character Creation and Voice Artist in Japanese Animation

Annu Shimizu 한국디자인학회 2010 한국디자인학회 학술발표대회 논문집 Vol.2010 No.10

This research is aimed for understanding the relationship between character creation process in Japanese animation and voice artists (seiyu), as well as the development of animation culture. Japan is used as the place to conduct this study because of its prosperous animation industry and the prominent role of animation voice artist. Japanese voice artist originated from those who worked in radio drama industry. After the animation boom period in 1960s, the role of voice artists has become more and more important until they extend their roles in other form of media as well. For example, radio drama, music, acting, dubbing, modeling, etc. Some successful voice artists even become idols. This situation shows the tendency that voice artist's status is changing from being a part of animation character to an individual product themselves. The purposes of this paper are as follow: To study voice artist's status in animation industry by comparing with other departments in animation creating process. To compare the importance of visual aspect and audio aspect in animation. To study the process of voice dubbing when Japanese animation is broadcasted in foreign country. To study the influence of modern society on voice acting business. This paper is meant to present the general idea concerning voice artist's status in Japan first. After collecting more data, a new paper concerning research method and data analyzing method will follow.

Elucidation of relationship between clothing silhouette and motifs with Indian Mughal architecture

Annu Kumari 한국의류학회 2019 Fashion and Textiles Vol.6 No.1

also not left out from the eye of designers. Fashion designers used to take their inspiration from architectural buildings normally to create new clothing silhouettes. But what is important to understand here is the nature of relationship between these two disciplines which made them to do so. Keeping this fact in mind, researcher tried to find the connection between ‘Fashion’ and ‘Architecture,’ which can serve as fashion element for designers. Clothing Silhouette and motif were the two criteria on which the relationship was investigated. Indian Mughal architectural monuments were selected, since Mughals were considered as the most influential rulers on Indian sub-continent, having unique heritage in terms of religion, arts, music and other ornamental techniques which are in vogue even in the modern era. The outcomes show that similar kind of motifs was used to ornament both textiles as well as walls of architectural monuments at same time frame. Clothing silhouettes of that time were also inspired from the outer shape of the monument. Further, while investigating, a functional aspect—one of the common causes of relationship in terms of comfort in both the disciplines was also found.

Assessment of Pharmacokinetic Interaction of Spirulina with Glitazone in a Type 2 Diabetes Rat Model

        Annu Gupta,Bandar E. Al-Dhubiab,Ipshita Chattopadhyaya,Anroop Nair,Rachna Kumria,Sumeet Gupta 한국식품영양과학회 2013 Journal of medicinal food Vol.16 No.12

The objective of the current study was to assess the possible pharmacokinetic interactions of spirulina with glitazones in an insulin resistance rat model. Wistar male albino rats were equally divided into five groups: insulin resistant rats+spirulina (500 mg/kg)+pioglitazone (10 mg/kg), insulin resistant rats+pioglitazone (10 mg/kg), insulin resistant rats+spirulina (500 mg/kg)+rosiglitazone (10 mg/kg), insulin resistant rats+rosiglitazone (10 mg/kg), and insulin resistant rats + spirulina (500 mg/kg). Described doses of pioglitazone, rosiglitazone, or spirulina were per orally administered and the plasma drug concentrations were determined. The pharmacokinetic parameters such as Tmax, Cmax, AUC0-a, t1/2, and Kel were determined by plotting the drug concentration as a function of time. The data observed in this acute study indicated that there was no statistically significant difference in any of the pharmacokinetic parameters (Tmax, Cmax, AUC0-a, t1/2, and Kel) of glitazones (pioglitazone, rosiglitazone) or spirulina, when they were coadministered. Given the promising results, this study concludes that the coadministration of spirulina does not influence the pharmacokinetics of glitazones in a type 2 diabetes rat model. Further chronic in vivo studies are recommended to assess the real time effect.

Comparative evaluation of photobiomodulation therapy at 660 and 810 nm wavelengths on the soft tissue local anesthesia reversal in pediatric dentistry: an in-vivo study

        Ankita Annu,Sujatha Paranna,Anil T. Patil,Sandhyarani B.,Adhithi Prakash,Renuka Rajesh Bhurke 대한치과마취과학회 2023 Journal of Dental Anesthesia and Pain Medicine Vol.23 No.4

Background: Local anesthesia has been reliably used to control pain during dental procedures and is important in pediatric dentistry. However, children occasionally complain of prolonged numbness after dental treatment, leading to several problems. Studies conducted to reverse the effect of local anesthesia using phentolamine mesylate and photobiomodulation therapy (PBM) are encouraging but limited. PBM is a type of light therapy that utilizes visible and near-infrared non-ionizing electromagnetic spectral light sources. Hence, this study used this modality to compare the reversal of local anesthesia at two different wavelengths. This study compared the effect of PBM at 660 and 810 nm wavelengths on the reversal of soft tissue local anesthesia using a diode LASER in pediatric dentistry. Method: Informed consent and assent were obtained, and the participants were then divided randomly into three groups of 20 children each: control group-without LASER irradiation, LASER irradiation at 660 nm, and LASER irradiation at 810 nm. Sixty children aged 4–8 years with deciduous mandibular molars indicated for pulp therapy were administered an inferior alveolar nerve block. After 45 min of injection, a duration that was similar to the approximate duration of treatment, they were exposed to 660- and 810-nm LASER irradiation according to their groups until reversal of local anesthesia was achieved. The control group did not undergo LASER irradiation. The reversal of the soft tissue local anesthetic effect was evaluated using palpation and pin prick tests every 15 min, and the LASER irradiation cycle continued until reversal of the soft tissue local anesthesia was achieved. Results: A significant reduction of 55.5 min (27.6%) in the mean soft tissue local anesthesia reversal time was observed after the application of 810 nm wavelength PBM and 69 min (34.7%) after 660 nm wavelength LASER irradiation. Conclusion: PBM with a 660 nm wavelength was more effective in reducing the mean soft tissue local anesthesia reversal duration, and thus can be used as a reversal agent for soft tissue local anesthesia in pediatric dentistry.

Mukul Gupta,Javed Sheikh,Annu,Ankit Singh 한국공업화학회 2021 Journal of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Vol.97 No.-

The study aims to develop a multifunctionalfinished linen fabric by using an environment-benign, greenand sustainable route. The cellulose-based linen fabric has been functionally modified by aminopolysaccharide (chitosan, CS), zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnO NPs), andflower extract of medicinal plant,Bombax ceiba. The NPs were stabilized by the extract on chitosan polymeric layer, which was bound onthe fabric through citric acid. Thus, developedfinished fabric, at three different pH values, was examinedfor bending length, tensile strength, crease recovery, UV-protection, antibacterial, and antioxidantactivity. The embedded ZnO NPs have been confirmed through FT-IR, Energy dispersive X-Rayspectroscopy (EDX), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The results showed effective crease recovery angle (CRA) and hiked UV protection factor (UPR) withsplendid percent antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus (>90%) and highfree radical scavenging ability (80–90%) for the modified fabrics. The durability of the multifunctionalproperties has also been determined by several launderings.

Graphene Based Electrochemical DNA Biosensor for Detection of False Smut of Rice (Ustilaginoidea virens)

        Kritika Rana,Jagjiwan Mittal,Jagriti Narang,Annu Mishra,Ramesh Namdeo Pudake 한국식물병리학회 2021 Plant Pathology Journal Vol.37 No.3

False smut caused by Ustilaginoidea virens is an impor- tant rice fungal disease that significantly decreases its production. In the recent past, conventional methods have been developed for its detection that is time-consuming and need high-cost equipments. The research and development in nanotechnology have made it possible to assemble efficient recognition interfaces in biosensors. In this study, we present a simple, sensitive, and selective oxidized graphene-based geno-biosensor for the detection of rice false smut. The biosensor has been developed using a probe DNA as a biological recognition element on paper electrodes, and oxidized graphene to enhance the limit of detection and sensitivity of the sensor. Probe single-stranded DNA (ssDNA) and target ssDNA hybridization on the interface surface has been quantitatively measured with the electrochemical analysis tools namely, cyclic voltammetry, and linear sweep voltammetry. To confirm the selectivity of the device, probe hybridization with non-complementary ssDNA target has been studied. In our study, the developed sensor was able to detect up to 10 fM of target ssDNA. The paper electrodes were employed to pro- duce an effective and cost-effective platform for the immobilization of the DNA and can be extended to design low-cost biosensors for the detection of the other plant pathogens.

      • Is the Tumor Infiltrating Natural Killer Cell (NK-TILs) Count in Infiltrating Ductal Carcinoma of Breast Prognostically Significant?

Rathore, Ankita Singh,Goel, Madhu Mati,Makker, Annu,Kumar, Sandeep,Srivastava, Anand Narain Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2014 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.15 No.8

Purpose: The aim of this study was to investigate the prognostic significance of the CD56+NK-TIL count in infiltrating ductal carcinoma (IDC) of breast. Material and Methods: Immunohistochemistry (IHC) was performed using antibodies specific for CD56 on formalin-fixed and paraffin-embedded tissue sections of 175 infiltrating ductal carcinomas (IDC) of breast. Distribution of intratumoral and stromal CD56+NK-TILs was assessed semi-quantitatively. Results: A low intratumoral CD56+count showed significant and inverse associations with tumor grade, stage, and lymph node status, whereas it had significant and direct association with response to treatment indicating good prognosis. These patients had better survival (${\chi}^2$=4.80, p<0.05) and 0.52 fold lower death rate (HR=0.52, 95% CI=0.28-0.93) as compared to patients with high CD56+ intratumoral count. The association of survival was insignificant with low CD56 stromal count as compared to high CD56 stromal count (${\chi}^2$=1.60, p>0.05). Conclusion: To conclude, although NK-TIL count appeared as a significant predictor of prognosis, it alone may not be sufficient for predicting the outcome considering the fact that there exists a crosstalk between NK-TILs and the other immune infiltrating TILs.

      • Expression of Human Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor (Her 2/neu) and Proliferative Marker Ki-67: Association with Clinicopathological Parameters in Gallbladder Carcinoma

Pujani, Mukta,Makker, Isha,Makker, Annu,Goel, Madhu Mati,Jetley, Sujata Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2016 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.17 No.8

Purpose: To evaluate the expression of Her2/neu and Ki-67 in benign and malignant gallbladder lesions, and to establish correlations with clinico-pathologic parameters. Materials and Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on formalin fixed paraffin embedded (FFPE) benign (n=25) and malignant gallbladder (n=25) tissue samples. Hematoxylin and eosin stained slides of each case were reviewed for: type of malignancy (whether adenocarcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, or any other type), grade (well, moderate, and poor), depth of invasion, pre-neoplastic changes in adjacent mucosal epithelium like metaplasia and dysplasia. Immunohistochemistry for Her 2 neu and Ki-67 was performed and data analysis was conducted using SPSS 17 software. Chi-square test was used to compare categorical/dichotomous variables. P value of ${\leq}0.05$ was considered significant. Results: The difference of Her 2 neu expression and Ki67 index between benign and malignant groups was found to be statistically significant. Her2/neu positivity did not have any significant correlation with various clinicopathological parameters other than liver involvement. 5 cases of gallbladder cancer showed both Her2/neu and Ki67 positivity. Ten cases were Ki67 positive but Her2/neu negative while one case was Her2/neu positive but Ki67 negative. Conclusions: The present study demonstrated overexpression of Her2/neu and Ki67 in gallbladder cancer. A trend of decreasing Her2/neu expression with increasing grade of tumor was observed. Furthermore, greater Ki67 positivity was found in cases with lymph node metastasis and distant metastasis. Future studies with a larger number of patients will be required to precisely define the correlation of Her2/neu expression and Ki67 positivity with clinicopathological parameters. The results however are encouraging and suggest evaluation of Her2/neu as a candidate for targeted therapy.
