Triboelectric nanogenerator as self-powered impact force sensor for falling object

        Aminullah,Ajab Khan Kasi,Jafar Khan Kasi,Moiz Uddin,Muzamil Bokhari 한국물리학회 2020 Current Applied Physics Vol.20 No.1

In this research, a simple and an innovative design of triboelectric nanogenerator (TENG) is reported that converts impact response in electrical signal. The two contacts of vertical separation mode TENG consist of Al and nanostructured PDMS with integral spacer of 1.5 mm. The feature size of 80 nm PDMS domes was achieved by replicating nanostructured aluminum. The performance of the device was measured by applying the mechanical pulses of 4 kgf at frequency of 3 Hz. The fabricated TENG demonstrated 0.73mW output power at load resistance of 107 Ω. The nanostructured PDMS TENG was successfully used as self-powered impact sensor by falling small objects on it. The impact force of 1 g metallic ball from different height was calculated directly from the output voltage of TENG which showed an outstanding correlation with impact force calculated from workenergy theorem.

Aminullah Erman 기술경영경제학회 2020 ASIAN JOURNAL OF TECHNOLOGY INNOVATION Vol.28 No.2

This paper is a system analysis of STI policy and R&D governance for the attainment of SDGs. The objective was to articulate a holistic model of STI policies and R&D governance for meeting the SDGs’ agenda 2030’s. It was analysed by using the model of STI policy and R&D governance to attain SDGs. The model dealt with: i) STI policy direction by the function of STI policy council, which sets STI policy directions and resources allocation for national goals, ii) the instrument of STI policy by the function of integrating body for R&D governance, which executes the coordinated and synergized national R&D program and projects involving across sectoral ministries/institutions. The model implementation would contribute to: i) STI-based economy in the long run, where STI-based industrialization should be pursued by the application of industrial policy to promote innovative industries driven by R&D in strategic area focus; and ii) meeting the SDGs’ targets through STI, where STI policy, organizational coordination and R&D governance for economic prosperity should shift towards transformative innovation policy, which is inspired by social ecology and environmental protection. The leverage factor for effective STI policy and productive R&D governance in Indonesia is the availability of highly qualified researchers.

Preliminary Study on Development of 3D Free-Form Surface Reconstruction System Using a Webcam Imaging Technique

Nur Ilham Aminullah Abdulqawi,Mohd Salman Abu Mansor 한국정밀공학회 2020 International Journal of Precision Engineering and Vol.21 No.3

Reverse engineering faces challenges when it comes to data extraction using indirect contact method. There are 3D scanners capable of extracting data from distance more than a few meters away without contacting the objects but yet limited to same space range only. Although synchronizing the 3D scanners from another place can enable long distance data extraction, synchronizing devices over long distance can lead to other issues such as lagging. Moreover, the uses of 3D scanners usually involve quite long consumption time regardless of same space range or long distance range application. To overcome these issues, this study introduces a 3D surface reconstruction system by including a webcam imaging technique to produce a 3D point cloud, which is the same as that produced by a 3D scanner, and thus, eliminate the use of a 3D scanner. Through webcam imaging, image data can be transferred over the Internet and can be shared instantly even in different locations. Hence, webcam imaging is an alternative to using a 3D scanner. This system will continuously generate 3D free-form surfaces to resemble the surface profile of physical objects. Acquiring data until the surface fitting process will take less time compared with using a combination of 3D scanner and CAD software. In addition, results produced from the webcam imaging technique are compared with conventional results from a 3D scanner.

      • A Review of Risk Volatility Measurement on Conventional Stock Market and Islamic Stock Market

Mustika Rahmi,Nurul Azma,Aminullah Achmad Muttaqin,Thuba Jazil,Mahfuzur Rahman 한국유통과학회 2016 KODISA ICBE (International Conference on Business Vol.2016 No.-

The purpose of this paper is to investigate the volatility of both Islamic and conventional stock market in Indonesia with the aim of identifying the most appropriate model for risk management practice. The study considers GARCH as a genre of model to measure the volatility of stock market movement. The results support the view that each model shows specific volatility from both Islamic and conventional stock market in Indonesia. In Islamic stock market, volatility is affected by exchange rate and money supply (M1) but not interest rate as interest is prohibited in Islam. However, interest rateis found as principal factor that affect volatility of conventional stock market. The outcomes of this paper are of particular significance to policy makers, as it provides guidelines to maintain economic health. Further, the findings may assist practitioners to understand the consequences of macroeconomic factors such as exchange rate, money supply and interest rate, which arevery crucial for the market stability of Indonesian stock market. The paper enhances the understanding of stock market volatility and propose guidelines risk management practices.

      • Towards a Distributed Wireless VoIP Infrastructure

Yuebin Bai,Syed Aminullah,Chao Li 보안공학연구지원센터 2007 International Journal of Multimedia and Ubiquitous Vol.2 No.2

It is the requirement of the next generation communication systems that devices should provide all existing and future communication services in integral way. A novel distributed wireless VoIP infrastructure based on SIP protocol, WiFi, and smart devices is proposed in this paper. The proposed architecture of the infrastructure is simple, manageable, stable, and extendable. The prototype test bed is an Infrastructure of distributed wireless VoIP Server based SIP, which provides text, voice and video communication to both wired and wireless devices. One of the main characteristic of this model is roaming and mobility. User authentication is centralized, and SIP server uses remote centralized AAA server for user authentication . Thus mobile users don’t need to worry about roaming and changing the Server. The whole architecture is modular, and the reason for isolating the core modules from the extended modules is flexibility and extendibility. At the end of the paper, detailed test approaches ,test results and result analysis of the prototype system are presented. Test results show that the prototype system reach the design goal of this research work..
