We consider the influence of alumina (Al2O3) particles on mechanical and tribological properties of aluminum hybrid metal matrixcomposites (MMC). Various weight fraction of Al2O3 (5, 10 and 15%) and constant weight fraction of graphite (5%) were used to fabricatecomposites by stir casting method. The effect of Al2O3 content on hardness, density and specific wear rate is evaluated. A wear testwas performed using central composite design matrix on a pin-on disc apparatus at room temperature for constant sliding distance of1000 m. The sliding speed, load and weight fraction of Al2O3 were the process variables. The results show that the hardness and densityincrease with increase in Al2O3 content. From the analysis of variance (ANOVA), load is the dominant factor that affects the specificwear rate of hybrid composites followed by speed and weight fraction of Al2O3. Based on desirability approach, the improvement in thewear resistance of the composites became more prominent at high speed, high load and high weight fraction of Al2O3. The worn surfaceof the pin was examined using scanning electron microscope (SEM) which indicates that the wear mechanism of composites is mostlyabrasive wear followed by oxide wear.

Myasthenia gravis (MG) is a neuromuscular autoimmune disorder which clinically presents as muscular weakness and fatigue due to autoantibody formation against acetylcholine receptors (AChR), leading to their subsequent destruction. Due to the neuromuscular implications of MG, certain considerations must be taken into account when providing anesthesia to MG patients. In the following case report, we have outlined procedural considerations for the anesthetic management of a patient with MG undergoing deep sedation for an elective oral surgery in an outpatient setting, as well as a discussion of relevant literature.

Radicular cyst is the most common odontogenic cyst occurring in the jaws. The cyst is commonly found in relation to the maxillary anterior teeth in the third and fifth decade of life. Although multiple radicular cysts are not uncommon in the jaws, bilaterally symmetrical representation of these cysts is rare. Radiographs prior to extraction help in diagnosis of these cysts and thereby prevent further morbidities. We report a case of 16-year-old male patient who presented bilateral radicular cysts symmetrically in the mandible.

Regional cancer epidemiology is an important basis for determining the priorities for cancer control in different countries worldwide. There is no reliable information about the pattern of head and neck cancer in western Nepal and hence an attempt was here made to evaluate the situation based on hospital data, which provide the only source in the western region of Nepal. A clinicopathological analysis of head and neck cancers treated between 2003 and 2006 in Manipal Teaching Hospital affiliated to Manipal College of Medical Sciences, Pokhara, Western Development Region, Nepal was performed. A total of 105 head and neck cancer cases were identified with a male to female ratio of 1.8:1. The median ages of male and female patients were 62 and 64 years, respectively. Ninety-seven (92.4%) of the cancer patients were suffering from carcinoma, three (2.9%) had blastoma, three (2.9%) had sarcoma, and two (1.9%) had lymphoma. The majority (61.9%) of carcinoma cases were squamous cell carcinoma followed by anaplastic carcinoma (7.2%). Of the carcinoma cases, the most common site of primary lesion was larynx (19.6%), followed by the thyroid (14.4%), the tongue and hypopharynx with 10.3% cases each. Comparative analysis among males and females did not reveal any sex difference in type of head and neck cancers. The head and neck cancer pattern revealed by the present study provides valuable leads to cancer epidemiology in western Nepal and useful information for health planning and cancer control, and future research in western Nepal.

Value Engineering (VE) is a method for characterizing the developed requirements of a product, and it is concerned with the selection of less excessive conditions. VE can understand and improve the optimal outcome such as quantity, security, unwavering quality and convertibility of each managerial unit. It is an incredible solving tool that can diminish costs while preserving or improving performance and quality requirements. In this research work, VE is presented to calculate the heating cost and cooling cost of the air conditioner with the assistance of an Artificial Neural Network (ANN) with an optimization model. This ANN model effectively chooses the maximum number of sources obtainable and the source respective method with low functional cost and energy consumption. For improving the prediction accuracy of VE in the ANN model, we have incorporated some training algorithms and optimized the network hidden layer and hidden neuron by Opposition Genetic Algorithm (OGA). From the results, trained ANN with OGA predicts the output with 96.02% accuracy and also minimum errors compared with the existing GA process.

In this paper, we introduce the concept of fuzzy nano $M$ open and fuzzy nano $M$ closed mappings in fuzzy nano topological spaces. Also, we study about fuzzy nano $M$ Homeomorphism, almost fuzzy nano $M$ totally mappings, almost fuzzy nano $M$ totally continuous mappings and super fuzzy nano $M$ clopen continuous functions and their properties in fuzzy nano topological spaces. By using these mappings, we can able to extended the relation between normal spaces and regular spaces in fuzzy nano topological spaces.

This paper proposes the new technique for detecting symmetrical faults occurred during power swing. The proposed technique is simulated for the protection of two machine system, distribution system with distributed generation and WSCC 9-bus system in Matlab. Symmetrical fault detection during power swing is a critical issue. Hence, in this paper, modifi ed weighted wavelet packet entropy technique is proposed to detect symmetrical fault during power swing. This entropy criterion is applied to wavelet packet coeffi cients to enhance the energy of fault signals and to reduce the vector size of the wavelet packet transform coeffi cients. This technique provides better results irrespective of various fault locations, fault inception angle and power swing frequencies. This technique is compared with conventional scheme and the results are tabulated. Moreover, this technique is also able to detect asymmetrical faults with high impedance during power swing. Mathematical derivation support system performance through simulation.

In this article, effect of gamma irradiation on the structural and optical properties of 2-aminopyridinium 4- nitrophenolate 4-nitrophenol (2AP4N) has been reported. The grown crystals of 2AP4N were exposed to 60Co gamma rays with a dose of 50 kGy and 100 kGy. The radiation-induced effects were analyzed using X-ray diffraction, FT-IR, UV–visible, photoluminescence techniques. The refractive index was determined using a long arm spectrometer. The structural properties of the pristine and irradiated crystals were studied using powder XRD. The peak intensity decrease after irradiation may be attributed to the formation of point defects. The UV visible study reveals that the energy gap has decreased after irradiation and then has increased for the higher dose. The intensity variation in the PL spectra is due to colour center mechanism. The SHG efficiency of 2AP4N crystals was found to be unaffected by gamma irradiation.
