The new requirements of fixed gas detection system for adjacent spaces of cargo oil tanks was proposed by IMO MSC 82/21/12. And, the IMO EP Sub-Committee will establish the new requirements by technical approaches and discussion. Therefore, one of the technical approaches, effectiveness of fixed hydrocarbon gas detection system in double hull spaces and double bottom spaces of tanker had been analyzed by computational fluid dynamics.

In this paper, a results of CFD analysis for estimation of water mist diameter is introduced. The water mist fire extinguishing system is suggested one of alternative means of halon fire extinguishing system and many efforts are made to improve fire extinguishing capability of the system. In the viewpoint of fire extinguishing capability of the system, the diameter of water mist is most important parameter. In this paper, the diameter of water mists is calculated by CFD and the results of CFD analysis is similar to mearsuring results.

Yucca Extract 의 첨가가 사료와 축분의 In vitro 발효성상 및 젖소의 유생산성에 미치는 영향

This study was conducted to investigate the effects of addition of Yucca extracts to the concentrate- and roughage-based feeds on the ruminal and fecal fermentation characteristics in vitro, and on the milk yields in lactating cows. A hatch culture system was used for the studies of the ruminal and the fecal fermentation in anaerobic and aerobic conditions. Eighteen lactating cows were used to measure milk yield. The results of these studies were summarized as follows. 1. The addition of Yucca extracts(125ppm) to the concentrate-based feed for lactating cow decreased the NF₃-N concentration and pH during in vitro ruminal fermentation(P$lt;0.05). 2. The addition of Yucca extracts(125ppm) to roughage-based feed, did not affect the concentrations of NH₃-N, volatile fatty acids(VFA), and pH in the ruminal fluid. 3. When the feces collected from lactating cows fed total mixed ration(TMR) were anaerobically fermented at 25℃, addition of Yucca extracts(125ppmj into the TMR did not affect on the concentrations of NH₃-N and VFA. However, the concentrations of NH₃-N and VFA in feces tended to increase by the addition of Yucca extracts(125 ppm) under the condition of aerobic fermentation(P$lt;0.05). 4. The addition of Yucca extracts(125ppm) to the swine wastes did not affect the concentrations of NH₃-N and VFA during the anaerobic fermentation, but decreased pH(P$lt;0.05). 5. The addition of Yucca extracts(125ppm) to (he feed increased milk yield(P$lt;0.05).
