Background/Aims: Motilin is an intestinal peptide that stimulates the contraction of gut smooth muscle. A discrepancy exists between the in vivo (neurally mediated) and in vitro (direct action on a smooth muscle receptor) mechanisms of motilin action in many species. We investigated in vitro mechanisms of motilin action on human gastric smooth muscle. Methods: Antral cirular muscle strips of the surgical tissue obtained during gastrectomy, were used to measure contractile force and electrical activity. Dispersed muscle cells were used to measure L-type Ca2+ current and electrical activity. Results: Motilin of 1-100nM contracted smooth muscle in a concentration-dependent manner. Motilin-induced contractions were unaffected by tetrodotoxin or atropine treatment. Nifedipine or Ca2+-free bath solution blocked motilin (10nM)-induced contractions. Low concentration of motilin (1nM) resulted in an increase in acetylcholine (0.1~100M)-induced contractions. By patch clamp recording technique, motilin (1 or 10nM) did not modify the L-type Ca2+ current, but motilin-induced membrane depolarization was detected. Erythromycin also contracted smooth muscle with membrane depolarization but verapamil inhibited the contraction. Conclusions: These results suggest that motilin contracts smooth muscle through a direct action on smooth muscle receptor and Ca2+ influx through the L-type Ca2+ channel, which is due to membrane depolarization, also mediates motilin-induced contractions. 다이어볼릭 큐브(Diabolical Cube)를 활용한 영재교육 자료 개발에 대한 연구

본 연구는 영재를 위한 교육 자료 개발을 위해 다이어볼릭 큐브의 특징에 대해 탐구하고, 영재들에게 제공할 수 있는 문제 상황에 따른 다이어볼릭 큐브 활용의 구체적인 예를 제시하였다. 다이어볼릭 큐브는 모든 조각이 평편한 조각으로 구성되어 있어 평면구성 활동과 입체구성 활동이 모두 가능하다. 조각의 선택에서는 사용가능한 조각들의 조합을 모두 찾은 후 포함-배제 방법을 사용하여 시행착오를 줄이는 분석적인 접근으로, 1개 이상의 답이 있는 문제에서 모든 답을 찾을 수 있고, 가장 많은 답을 갖는 모양 찾기와 개방형 문제를 해결할 수 있다. 본 연구에서 제시한 활동의 예를 이용하여 영재들에게 제공할 수 있는 학습 자료와 교사의 발문, 그리고 학생에게 제기할 수 있는 문제 등을 조직할 수 있고, 이를 바탕으로 학생들의 수준이나 요구, 수업의 목표나 목적 등에 따라 단계적으로 계획을 수립하여 수업에 활용할 수 있다. The purpose of this article is to study characteristics of diabolical cube in geometric point of view, and to present educational materials and direction for efficient diabolical cube activities in gifted education upon systematical analysis of methods of finding solutions. We can apply inclusion-exclusion Method to find all possible combination of solutions in diabolical cube activities not as trial-and-error method but as analytical method. Through teacher`s questions and problem posing in activities using diabolical cube, we systematically came up with most solution and case of all possible combinations be solution in classifying properties of pieces and combining selected pieces.
중등 초임수학교사들의 컴퓨터 관련 지식의 형성과 활용에 대한 연구

This study conducted a survey to examine the knowledge formation and utilization of computer among beginning teachers of secondary school mathematics. We found that beginning teachers who had more experiences of taking computer utilization classes at teacher education institutes showed more interest in computer and saw the necessity and effectiveness of computer usage for teaching students. Teachers chose GSP the most among computer utilization knowledge learned in pre-service teachers program, and GSP is used the most in mathematics classes. However, they answered that computer is not so much available in class due to lack of hours and the relevant resources. Lastly, beginning teachers answered that the computer knowledge learned in in-service teacher program was more useful than that in pre-service, Thus, the professional development in utilizing computer should be improved through diversifying teacher training contents for beginning teachers as well as for pre-service teachers in teacher education institutes.

N/A The leiomyoblastoma of the stomach is an unusual smooth muscle tumor, which was first described by Martin and others in 1960. The gastric leiomyoblastoma is similar to the smooth muscle tumor of leiomyosarcoma in gross and composed of round or polygonal cells instead of spindle cells microscopically. Most of these tumors are benign but some tumors behave in malignant manner. The leiomyoblastoma has better prognosis than other smooth muscle tumors. Recently we experenced a case of leiomyoblastoma of the stomach and report with brief review of literatures.
