        Chlorella Protein의 營養價에 관한 硏究 (Ⅱ)

        It was reported that the digestion ratio of chlorella was low because it had a low metabolic rate in body.<br/> Generally, the thickness of a cell membrane of it is 200-250 Å, the weight of it is approximatly 13% of the total weight of a dry cell. And it is composed of protein, lipid, hemicellulose and ash etc.<br/> So, in order to elevate the digestion ratio of chlorella in body, we experimented the crude treatment methods of chlorella.<br/> The results obtained in this experiment are summarized as follows :<br/> 1. The digestion ratios calculated from ordinary N- balance method were 83.05% for 10% chl. (b) plus diastase group ; 81.25% for 10% chl. (b) plus amylase group, and 79.23% for 10% chl. (b), 58.55% for 10% chl. (a).<br/> 2. Biological values from this method were 80.25% for 10% chl. (b) plus diastase group, and 60% for 10% for chlorella(a).

        Chlorella의 營養價에 關한 硏究 (Ⅰ)

        Though many papers have reported the nutrition value of Chlorella their results are all different because of the differences in processing method. To investigate its processing and nutrition value we provided the white rats with the Chlorella that were treated with boiling methanol. The results obtained in this investigation are summarized as follows:<br/> Two groups. which were fed with 20% Chlorella protein and 10% Chlorella plus 0.37% DL-methionine gained less weight than the 10% egg protein group but equaled the 20% egg protein group in weight gain.<br/> The digestion rates calculated from ordinary N-balance method were 83.6% for 20% Chlorella, 81.7% for 10% Chlorella, and 84.9% for 10% Chlorella plus methionine group. This value is lower than 20% Egg (93.8%) and 10% Egg group (89.6%)<br/> Biological values from this method were 78.3% for 20% Chlorella and 79.1% for 10% Chlorella group, being lower than 20% Egg (85.2%), 10% Egg (93.2%). But the biological value of 10% Chlorella group was markedly enhanced to 92.2%, a value comparable to that of 10% Egg group, by adding methionine.

        한의학에 있어서 소갈병(당뇨병)에 대한 식이요볍의 고찰

        A dietary treatment of Chinese medicine for diabetes mellitus was extensively studied and compared with that of western medicine. The main results are as follows: Chinese medicine is based on the following empirical dietetics. First, likeness helps likeness. When an internal organ of mankind is not functioning properly, the food or drug from the same organ of an animal will be helpful to cure it. Second, take good foods for health properly and never take any foods against body. Third, building up one's body by taking tonics is not quite the same as building up one's body through proper eating. On the other hand, western medicine is based on the experimental and scientific methods which are modernized in accordance with the development of science and technology. It emphasizes upon finding the cause of a disease. Then this disease can be cured by doing a necessary medical treatment which sometime uses a surgical operation or chemical and radiological method or both. Although there are many ways in treating a diabetic in Western Medicine, here the diabetics is supposed to be the best. The same is true for Chinese Medicine. Therefore one can easily conclude that the dietetics is the most important and effective of all irrespective of Western and Chinese Medicine as far as diabetesis concerned. In Western Medicine, a diabetic is recommened to have the minimum calories necessary for life and not to have goods containing glucide beyond a certain quantity, while in Chinese medicine a diabetic is not allowed to have foods containing more than 10% of glucide. These two facts suggest that a diabetic should pay careful attention to foods containing lots of glucide. Finally a systematic cooperation between western and Chinese medicine will cure not only diabetes but also other disease more effectively than a traditionally unilateral method.

        For the utilization of atomic energy, radioactive mineral survey was projected in Jeonbuk District of the north of 3°50′ N. L. and 127°00 E-127°45′ E. Consequently, Mt. Yongwha, Mt. Chonho and Bibong areas were chemically and physically selected as the most prospective ones, and these areas, which have the radioactivities more than 28 cpm, were assumed to have the radioactive minerals related with black slates of Ockchon System.

      • Studies on the Nutritional Evaluation of Chlorell Protein(Ⅰ)

        Protein 含量이 豊當한 Chlorella를 이용해서 우리나라의 食量不足의 因難을 解消하고저 著者들은 Chlorella의 營養價, 培養法, 處理加工法 等을 硏究中이고, 우선 營養價에 대해서 調査하였다. Chlorella ellipsoidea를 同調培養法으로 培養시켜 이것을 Methanol로 處理하고 試料로 하였다. 이것을 흰쥐에 授與하여 Chlorella의 營養價를 調査한 結果 다음과 같다. 1. Methanol로 處理한 Chlorella Protein 20% 授與 gorup과 Chlorella protein 10%에다 DL-Methionine 0.37%를 添加한 Group은 體重增加에 있어서 10% Egg group 보다 적었으나 20% Egg group과는 거의 같았다. 2. N-balance method로 測定한 消化率은 20% Chlorella group이 83.6%, 10% Chlorella group이 81.7%이었고 10% Chlorella group에 Methionine을 添加한 것은 84.9%로 20% Egg group 93.8%, 10%Egg group 89.6% 보다 낮았고 生物價는 20% 및 10% Chlorella group이 各各 78.3%, 79.1%로써 20% Egg group 85.2% 10% Egg group 93.2% 보다 낮았으나 10% Chlorella group에 DL-Methionine 0.37%를 添加한 것은 92.2%로써 10% Egg group과 비슷하였다.

      • Studies on the uptake of exogenous nitrogen into the chlorella ellipsoidea

        蛋白質의 營養價를 評定하는 在來의 生物學的 方法에는 豫備飼育 動物體重內因性窒素代謝 等 誤差를 초래하는 여러 要因이 있다. 이들 要因은 標識된 蛋白質으로서 避할수 있다고 생각됨으로 本硏究에 있어서는 著者는 KN^15O_3를 培養液에 添加하여 chlorella 蛋白質을 N^15 標識할 수 있는지의 與否와 chlorella 蛋白質이 어느 成長段階에서 가장 잘 標識되는가를 알고져 하였다. 培養液中의 (NH_4)_2SO_4 濃度를 增加시키면 chlorella로의 Nitrogen incorporation이 增大하였으나, 그 吸收率은 3g/l의 濃液에서 最大이었고 그 以上의 濃度에서는 오히려 低下하였다. 窒素源으로서는 (NH_4)_2SO_4가 KNO_3보다 좋았고 細胞分裂은 明暗에 關係없이 일어났으나 그 反面에 Nitrogen incorporation과 Packed cell volume의 增加는 어둠속에서는 일어나지 않았다. 그리고 N^15는 總窒素와 平行하여 chlorella 蛋白質에 Incorporate 되었으며 N^15 標識 蛋白質을 쉽게 얻을 수 있었다. Ordinary biological methods of evaluating protein quality are subjected to various sources of error, such as preliminary feeding, body weight of the animals, length of feeding period, endogenous nitrogen metabolism, etc.^1) wide variations in the reported data may be partly due to this fact. The author postulated that by applying labelled protein these shortcomings may be avoided and that a balance study using nitrogen-15 would give most reliable data, uninfluenced by other factors which are unavoidable in ordinary balance studies using unlabelled nitrogen.,^2) However, the most important prerequisite for testing this assumption is to obtain labelled protein. As it has been known long since that chlorella conteins a large amount of protein and can be easily cultured in quantity ^3,4), it was thought that labelled protein might be obtained by adding N^15 into the culture media. In this study it has been tried to find out, therefore, whether it is possible to obtain labelled protein by incorporating KN^15O_3 into the culture fluid and at what stage of growth the incorporation of the label into chlorella occurs.
