목적 : MRI를 촬영하면서 동시에 측정한 뇌전도 신호에 가장 크게 영향을 미치는 것은 경사자계 유발 잡음이다. MRI와 동시에 측정한 뇌전도 신호에서 전류원 국지화를 수행할 때, 경사자계 유발 잡음이 미치는 영향을 분석하고자 한다. 대상 및 방법 : 사람의 머리와 유사하게 만든 뇌전도 팬텀과 MR compatible 뇌전도 측정시스템, 그리고 3.0 Tesla MRI 시스템을 실험에 사용하였다. 3.0 Tesla MRI 시스템 안에 전류원이 설치되어 있는 뇌전도 팬텀을 놓고, EPI 촬영을 하는 동안 뇌전도 신호를 측정하였다. 경사자계의 세기와 전류원의 위치를 조절하면서 뇌전도 신호 측정을 하였고, 측정된 뇌전도 신호에 대하여 전류원 국지화를 수행할 때 나타나는 국지화 오차를 평가하였다. 결과 : 경사자계 유발잡음에 의한 국지화 오차는 경사자계의 세기와 전류원의 위치에 따라 변화하는 것을 관찰하였다. 또한 경사자계 유발잡음이 Gaussian 잡음보다 전류원 국지화에 미치는 영향이 큰 것을 관찰하였으며, 경사자계 유발 잡음의 전력이 뇌전도 신호 전력의 $10\%$ 이하일 때는 전류원 국지화에 미치는 영향이 미미함을 관찰하였다. 결론 : 경사자계 유발 잡음 전력을 뇌전도 신호 전력의 $10\%$ 이하로 줄인다면 MRI를 하면서 동시에 측정한 뇌전도 신호로도 전류원 국지화를 할 수 있음을 알 수 있었다. Purpose : To evaluate the effect of the gradient switching noise on the ECD source localization with the EEG data recorded during the MRI scan. Materials and Methods : We have fabricated a spherical EEG phantom that emulates a human head on which multiple electrodes are attached. Inside the phantom, electric current dipole(ECD) sources are located to evaluate the source localization error. The EEG phantom was placed in the center of the whole-body 3.0 Tesla MRI magnet, and a sinusoidal current was fed to the ECD sources. With an MRI-compatible EEG measurement system, we recorded the multi channel electric potential signals during gradient echo single-shot EPI scans. To evaluate the effect of the gradient switching noise on the ECD source localization, we controlled the gradient noise level by changing the FOV of the EPI scan. With the measured potential signals, we have performed the ECD source localization. Results : The source localization error depends on the gradient switching noise level and the ECD source position. The gradient switching noise has much bigger negative effects on the source localization than the Gaussian noise. We have found that the ECD source localization works reasonably when the gradient switching noise power is smaller than $10\%$ of the EEG signal power. Conclusion : We think that the results of the present study can be used as a guideline to determine the degree of gradient switching noise suppression in EEG when the EEG data are to be used to enhance the performance of fMRI.

This study was conducted to analyze genetic characteristics and to detect the specific marker for HANWOO (Korean Cattle) using RAPD (Random Amplified polymorphic DNAs). We collected blood samples from HANWOO, Angus, Charolais, Hereford and Holstein and obtained genomic DNA from the blood of 10 individuals randomly selected within the breeds. One hundred fifty primers were chosen randomly and were examined for polymorphism and 10 kinds of primer showed polymorphic RAPD band pattern between and among the breeds. Arbitrary primer #4 showed dimorphic band pattern. HANWOO specific bands were observed from the primer #5, #8, #9 and #18 analysis. Primer #14 showed the Charolais specific band pattern in the genetic analysis between Charolais and Holstein. Primer #13 created many bands from RAPD products and showed wide range of polymorphism within brew, resulting that RAPD amplification using primer #13 was suitable for paternity test of family having pedigree and unrelated binds different from those of parent might be a evidence for exclusion from pedigree of family. A total of 66 polymorphic RAPD bands from ten different primers were used to analyze the genetic relationship of HANWOO with other 4 breeds. Genetic similarities among breeds were estimated using these 66 RAPD markers. The genetic similarity coefficient between HANWOO and Holstein was 0.737 and was higher than those of any other pair of breeds.

Milk protein genes and growth hormone gene have been targeted as modulator genes in growth and carcass traits. With the objectives to detect some correlation or genotypic effect of three known functional genes on economic performance, 19 sires and their 139 progenies of Hanwoo population were genotyped for κ-casein, β-lactoglobulin and growth hormone(GH) loci by polymerase chain reaction(PCR)-restriction fragment length polymorphism(RFLP) analysis. The growth traits, such as Body Weight and Average Daily Gain, and carcass traits of this population were analysed for possible association with three genetic loci. The frequency of B allele for κ-casein was 0.37 in Hanwoo and 0.23 for β-lactoglobulin. Among the analysed loci, κ-casein gene was found most significantly associated with the growth traits of economic importance. However, the ,β-lactoglobulin and GH did not show significant effects in Hanwoo. For carcass traits, effects of κ-casein were significant in EMA. Therefore, genotyping the candidate animals for κ-casein in Hanwoo can be of great benefit in selection programs.

This study was carried out to establish the optimal RAPD condition using, short oligonucleotide primers and then to compare the genetic characteristics of Korean Native Ogol Chicken with other breed of chicken, including WL, RIR, CN and KNBC. Each 5 individuals per breed were bled and DNA was extracted from collected blood. The primers used in this study were composed of 10 oligonucleotides of 50∼80% G+C content. The optimization on the primer annealing temperature, concentration of Mg ion, amount of template DNA was conducted. From initial 400 primers, 50 polymorphic primers between individuals of same or different breeds were selected. And finally, 10 primers showing highly polymorphic and reproducible pattern were selected and 49 polymorphic markers were counted for Band Sharing Coefficient estimation. Both KNOC and KNBC showed a high genetic homogeneity (0.862, 0.858) and RIR showed most homogeneous genetic composition {0.891). In the case of interbreed comparisons, both KNOC and KNBC showed the highest genetic similarity with CN (0.810, 0.835) and the least with WL (0.772, 0.782) than any other breeds. Effect of Maternal Passive Autoimmunization against Myostatin on Growth Performance in Chickens

Myostatin is a negative regulator of skeletal muscle growth and a loss of functional myostatin protein increases muscle hypertrophy and hyperplasia in cattle. The present study was conducted to investigate whether maternal passive immunization against myostatin would improve growth performance in chickens. A complete broiler myostatin cDNA was cloned and it was expressed into two transcripts as 1,128 bp and 985 bp by alternative splicing. A conjugated mature myostatin (350 bp) was used to induce autoimmunization and maternal passively immunized chickens was used for the experiment. It was confirmed that there was a maternal passive immunization against myostatin at zero weeks of age, but its effect was reduced by 6 weeks of age. The auto-immunized groups showed smaller body weights than those of control group during the growing period and the difference was getting bigger with time until 6 weeks of age. These results suggest that passive autoimmunization against myostatin used in this study is not potent enough to stimulate growth performance in chickens.
