Red, green, blue (RGB) selective zinc oxide (ZnO) phototransistors with multi-photoactive quantum-dot (QD) channels have been fabricated by a charge-assisted layer-by-layer (LbL) patterning process. QDs were patterned as RGB pixels in multi-photoactive QD channels through the LbL process. The solution-processed ZnO film, which acts as an active-channel layer of the ZnO TFTs, is patterned via a photoinduced surface engineering method to reduce the leakage current of the ZnO TFTs. The average off-current of the patterned ZnO TFTs reduced from 10−10 to 10−11 A. QDs absorb visible light and generate photoelectrons, which are then transferred to the ZnO to produce photocurrents. The device shows photoresponsivity of 9.4 mA/W, 12.5, and 137 A/ W to the illumination of 638, 520, and 405 nm wavelength light. Our results suggest a promising way to develop an RGB selective phototransistor that uses QDs as a visible light absorption layer and ZnO as an active channel semiconductor.
탐구형 소프트웨어를 활용한 고등학교 해석 기하 교육에 관한 사례 연구

The purpose of the study was to investigate the effectiveness of dynamic software in solving high school analytic geometry problems compared with traditional algebraic approach. Three high school students who have revealed high performance in mathematics were involved in this study. It was considered that they mastered the basic concepts of equations of plane figure and curves of secondary degree. The research questions for the study were the followings: 1) In what degree students understand relationship between geometric approach and algebraic approach in solving geometry problems? 2) What are the difficulties students encounter in the process of using the dynamic software? 3) In what degree the constructions of geometric figures help students to understand the mathematical concepts? 4) What are the effects of dynamic software in constructing analytic geometry concepts? 5) In what degree students have developed the images of algebraic concepts? According to the results of the study, it was revealed that mathematical connections between geometric approach and algebraic approach was complementary. And the students revealed more rely on the algebraic expression over geometric figures in the process of solving geometry problems. The conceptual images of algebraic expression were not developed fully, and they blamed it upon the current college entrance examination system.
Colloidal Quantum Dot Photodiodes with Ligand-dependable and Photolithographic Patterning Technique

We patterned a quantum dot (QD) layer via photolithography and fabricated a QD photodiode using an inverted QD-light emitting diode (LED) structure. It shows behavior similar to normal photodiodes in terms of photoresponse. However, the dark current was reduced by 1/10 and the photocurrent increased 10 times in comparison with unpatterned QD photodiodes. This study is beneficial for creating multicolor QD sensors and simultaneously integrating LEDs and photosensors on the same structure. It means that the sensor works while blinking time of LED and it could be applied to advanced display technique.
