      • 노화 촉진 마우스의 월령에 따른 Transketolase mRNA 발현

        노화의 메카니즘을 규명하기 위해서는 여러 가지 접근 방법이 이용되어져 왔으나, 근래에 이르러 노화촉진마우스의 이용이 가능하게 되어 노화의 연구에 유용한 수단으로 제공되고 있다(18). 그러므로 본 연구에서는 이 노화촉진마우스를 이용하여, 뇌 신경계와 관련된 질환에서 변화를 보일 뿐만 아니라, 노화의 진행에 따른 효소 활성과 단백질량의 변화를 나타내는 transketolas의 이러한 효소적 변화가 transketolas의 합성 단계 중의 어떤 과정의 변화로 인한 것인지 규명하기 위해 mRNA수준을 양적으로 비교하였다. 노화가 진행됨에 따라 transketolas의 mRNA수준은 간과 뇌에서 다른 양상으로 나타나, 간에서는 6개월령에서 정점을 보이고 그 후 감소한데 반해, 뇌에서는 3개월령에서 가장 높았고 이후 점차로 저하되었다. SAMRI계는 노화촉진마우스인 SAMP8계에 비해 전체적으로 높은 수준을 보였으나, 가령에 따른 변화경향은 비슷한 것으로 나타났다. To study the participation of transketolase in the process of aging, we examined the mRNA content using senescence accelerated mouse(SAMP8) and control mouse(SAMR1). The brain and liver of 3, 6 and 9 month-old male mice were used. With advancing aging, the transketolase mRNA content in the brain and the liver showed different pattern. The transketolase mRNA content in the liver was increased in both SAMR1 and SAMP8 until 6 months, followed by decrease at 9 months, while transketolase mRNA level in the brain was maximum at 3 months and then decreased gradually.

        한국산 팥꽃나무과 잎과 엽병의 해부 및 분류학적인 검토

        한국산 팥꽃나무과에 속하는 5속 9종(팥꽃나무속: 4종, 아마풀속: 1종, 삼지닥나무속: 1종, 피뿌리풀속: 1종, 산닥나무속: 2종)의 잎의 해부학적인 두 가지 형질(중륵 횡단면, 엽병 횡단면)을 광학현미경과 전자주사현미경으로 연구하였다. 잎의 중륵의 외형은 3개의 유형 즉, 주맥부의 돌출 양상에 따라 상측이 '평평한 유형', '함몰된 유형', 혹은 '돌출된 유형'으로 구분되었다. 엽병횡당면의 윤곽은 대부분은 반달형이거나 원형으로 분류군마다 다소 차이가 있었고, 날개가 뚜렷하거나 미약하게 발달한 유형, 혹은 날개가 없는 유형으로 구별되었다. 유관속조직, 표피상납질, 결정체, 탄닌 등, 추가적인 해부학적 형질에 대해 상세히 기재하였다. 끝으로 조사된 잎의 해부학적 형질이 한국산 팥꽃나무과 분류군의 동정에 유용한가에 대하여 검토하였다. Two anatomical features of leaves, transverse section of midribs and petioles, were examined for nine species of five genera of Thymelaeaceae, Daphne L. -4 spp., Diarthron Turcz. -1 sp., Edgeworthia Meisn. -1 sp., Stellera L. -1 sp., Wikstroemia Endl. -2 sp., using light microscopy and scanning electron microscopy. In terms of shape of upper side, three types were observed, i.e., flattened, depressed, and raised. Outline of petioles is mostly semi-circular or circular in transverse section, with two distinct wings/weakly developed wings or without wings. Other characters besides anatomical features of leaves such as vascular bundle tissues, crystal, tannin are also described in details. Finally, we briefly discussed the systematic significance of the anatomical features of leaves for identification of Korean Thymelaeaceae.

        Preparation and anticancer effect of pegylated-chlorambucil prodrug nanoparticle for enhanced therapeutic efficiency

        Chlorambucil (CLB), which is well known as a therapeutic agent of leukemia and Hodgkin’s disease, has been reported to have anticancer effects against various cancer cells. However, hydrophobic CLB has many problems, including being inefficient and producing side effects because of its low solubility in water. For these reasons, we developed a pegylated-CLB (PCLB and mPCLB) prodrug nanoparticle, which demonstrated excellent dispersibility, high anticancer activity and superior intracellular uptake. These results suggest that PCLB and mPCLB prodrug can use as anticancer agents against various cancer cells.

        Chlorambucil (CLB), used as therapeutic agent for leukemia, was recently demonstrated to anticancer effect against various cancer cells. However, its utilization has been limited due to MDR effect, high toxicity and low solubility against water. To overcome these obstacles, we synthesized pegylated-CLB by using coupling agents. Their chemical structure was analyzed by <sup>1</sup>H-NMR and UV-vis spectrophotometer. To demonstrate a dispersity of them against water, transmittance was measured by using UV-vis spectrophotometer. Their particle size and morphology were analyzed by DLS and TEM. Moreover, cytotoxicity and anticancer effect were evaluated by using MTT assay. In addition, their cellular uptake against cancer cell lines was observed by using fluorescence microscopy and flow cytometry. <sup>**</sup> These results suggest that they can use as anticancer agent.         일개 대학병원 간호사의 근골격계 부담작업 분석

        Severities of musculoskeletal diseases (MSDs) have been recognized at the regular work such as manufacturing but incidence of MSDs are increasing also at the atypical work. The examples of those are health medical workers, office workers and service workers etc. Nurses among health medical workers are accomplishing to manage and recover the patients' health in the first place. Therefore, they are exposed to very stressful work conditions during caring the patients. This study was performed to analyze the musculoskeletal burdened work among nurses at a university hospital, in order to grasp the realities of the MSDs, analyze and prevent MSDs. We surveyed risk factors for ward, intensive care unit, delivery room, newborn room, operation room, function test room and central supply room at a university hospital in Seoul. It was executed for 2 months as the field study that was composed of simulation, real measurement, work motion assessment and subjective assessment. And the results were analyzed into ergonomics techniques. Works according to the criteria of musculoskeletal burdened work by the Ministry of Labor were scrub in operation room and heart ultrasonic function test. And a lot of works that need attention and management were also detected. So it should be required the education and systematic managements of MSDs for nurses.

        사파이어 기판에 펄스 레이저 증착법으로 성장된 AlN 박막의 특성

        AlN films with c-axis orientation and thermal conductivity characteristics were deposited by using Pulsed Laser Deposition and the films were characterized by changing the deposition conditions. In particular, we investigated the optimal conditions for the application of a heat sinking plane AlN thin film. Epitaxial AlN films were deposited on sapphire ($c-Al_2O_3$) single crystals by pulsed laser deposition (PLD) with an AlN target. AlN films were deposited at a fixed pressure of $2{\times}10^{-5}$ Torr, while the substrate temperature was varied from 500 to $700^{\circ}C$. According to the experimental results of the growth temperature of the thin film, AlN thin films were confirmed with a highly c-axis orientation, maximum grain size, and high thermal conductivity at $650^{\circ}C$. The thermal conductivity of the AlN thin film was found to increase compared to bulk AlN near the band gap value of 6.2 eV.

        중학생의 흡연실태와 흡연에 따른 식습관 차이

        Adolescent smoking has been a great concern with respect to it’s causing more serious health problems than adult smoking. The smoking status and habits of middle school students were studied using anonymous questionnaires, and their dietary habits were compared. Ninety-two of 4l4 students (22.2%) had experienced smoking, and 62.0% of them began in primary school, mostly out of curiosity. The most plausible reasons for smoking were ‘boredom’ and/or ‘stress reduction’. Dietary habits were generally inadequate in the smoking group. Compared with the non-smoking group, the smoking group paid less attention to a balanced diet, more skipped breakfasts, more had irregular meal times and fewer snacked. There was no significant difference between the smoking and non-smoking groups in food intake frequency, except of sweet foods and caffeinated foods, which were more frequent consumed by the smoking group. These results suggest that more attention needs to be paid to nutrition and health education programs in elementary schools and also that proper support programs for smoking by themselves.
