        한국 성인에서 치과용 방사선사진에 의한 연령감정

        Aim of this study is to examine correlation between size of the coronal pulp cavity and chronological age in adult. Total 716 teeth (218 mandibular canines, 230 first premolars, 268 second premolars) free from pathologies and dental restorations were selected from 276 patients (111 males, 165 females), ranging from 20-69 years. Using periapical X-ray, the height (mm) of the crown (CH=coronal height) and the height (mm) of the coronal pulp cavity (CPCH=coronal pulp cavity height) of the teeth were measured. The tooth-coronal index (TCI) after Ikeda et al (Jpn. J. For. Med. 1985;39:244-250) was computed for each tooth and regressed on real age. With increasing age, the TCI was relatively decreased, indicating the reduction of length of the pulp chamber. Even reduction of the TCI with aging was found in combined group rather than in each sex and type of tooth separately. The most definite reduction was in canine of combined group. The correlation coefficient was strongest when measurement from canines of females (r2=0.247).

        첩포시험을 이용한 치과용 재료의 알러지 평가

        Both immune reaction and hypersensitivity reaction are occurred by the same mechanism, the antigen and antibody reaction. The favorable result of this reaction towards a host is called clinically an immune reaction and the opposite results is called an hypersensitivity reaction. Type IV hypersensitivity reaction is a delayed type which is related to the cellular immune reaction and a contact hypersensitivity is included in this type. Various dental materials such as metal (mercury, nickel, chrome, cobalt), resin and eugenol are etiologic substances. Patch test kit is composed of test substance with a controlled concentration which respond only to a susceptible patient and an aluminum chamber, and etiologic substances for hypersensitivity can be easily and comfortably found just by applying the kit to the patient's skin. In this case report, the patch test was performed to a patients with oral lichen planus and the allergen, restorative material was found. After removal of the matching restoration from the patient's mouth, the symptom was improved.

        구강점막 병소 환자의 치과재료에 대한 과민반응 평가

        This study was to find dental materials causing hypersensitivity reactions by carrying out patch tests in the patients with oral mucosal lesions to investigate the possibility of hypersensitivity reactions in etiology of oral mucosal lesions. 31 patients (female 26, male 5, age range 24-72 years) with oral mucosal lesions were classified as patient group, and 41 volunteers (female 24, male 17, age range 23-40 years) without oral mucosal lesion, systemic disease and history of allergy as control group. The obtained results were as follows: 1. There were various dental restorations in most of patient group and control group, 29(94%) in 31 patient group, 35(85%) in 41 control group. 2. Among sites of oral mucosal lesions, buccal mucosa was the most common site with 60%, followed by gingiva with 24%, tongue with 16%. Lesions in contact with restorations were highly 90% in tongue and 89% in buccal mucosa, but comparatively lower 53% in gingiva. 3. The ratio of positive reactions to the patch test in patient group was significantly higher than the control group (p<0.05). 4. Dental materials causing positive reactions to the patch test were mainly mercury(19%), potassium dichromate(16%), cobalt chloride(16%) in patient group, cobalt chloride(17%) in control group. 5. In 20 patients with lichen planus, 8 patients(40%) showed positive reactions to the patch test.

      • 고객불량행동이 종사원의 감정부조화, 일탈행동에 미치는 영향

        Purpose: In this study, we analyzed how customer misbehavior affects employees' emotional dissonance and deviant behavior in complex resorts. Method: A survey was conducted on the employees of the resort complex, and an empirical analysis was conducted on 300 questionnaires using the SPSS 22.0 program. Results: In poor customer behavior, rude behavior, neglect attitude, and sexual harassment were found to have a significant positive (+) effect on emotional dissonance, and emotional dissonance was analyzed to have a positive (+) effect on deviant behavior toward organizations and deviant behavior toward people. Conclusion: In order to reduce the emotional dissonance and deviant behavior of the employees from the bad behavior of the customers, it was confirmed that more active and concrete action plan and corporate and social support were needed. Interdisciplinary Research Implications: This study is a study of complex resort companies in the tourism industry, and if interdisciplinary research on customer bad behavior in the leisure field is conducted in connection with the aspect of physical education in the future, it is expected to spread to applied research.

        Forensic odontology can be defined in many ways. One of definitions is simply that forensic odontology represents the overlap between the dental and the legal professions. The most important function of forensic odontology to determine of human identity from dental character. We had found 7 unidentified human bodies in Busan metro politan city, 2007 and we have identified 5 bodies among them.

        The Department of Clinical Pathology, Ajou University Hospital has participated in CAP survey for the quality control of hematology and coagulation in 1995. External quality assessment is the objective evaluation by an outside agency of performance by a number of laboratories for standardization which is reduced specially on a regional or national basis. Three trials have been performed a year for many hematology tests, which are different at each trial. A commonly used evaluation criterion has been the comparison of proficiency test results with those of peer groups, considering all values that exceed ± 2 SD to be "unacceptable". CAP`s evaluation reports of our laboratory shown relatively satisfactory results except for fibrinogen. As the fibrinogen test produce various results, the stability of specimens provided to participants was an important consideration. From our experience, it was essential that specimens could be safely transported, without deterioration. Finally, the external quality assessment has contributed significantly towards an improvement in the quality of laboratory tests.

      • Rifampin 내성 결핵균의 조기진단을 위한 rpoB 유전자의 염기서열 분열

        The recent increase in new cases of Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection and rapid emergence of rifampin resistant and multidrug resistant strains have prompted new interest in tuberculosis worldwide. It has been reported that rifampin resistance can also be used as the surrogate marker for multidrug resistance. Therefore, rapid detection of rifampin resistant strain of M. tuberculosis is the key to control M. tuberculosis infection. Molecular biological methods based on rpoB gene sequencing and reverse hybridization line probe assay after polymerase chain reaction have a greater potential for early detection of rifampin resistance. This study was conducted to evaluate the clinical effectiveness of new rapid assays to detect rifampin resistance on the basis of molecular biological methods. The mutation pattern of rpoB gene in rifampin resistant strains isolated from sputum of patients in Korea was also studied. The results of rpoB gene sequencing and INNO-LiPA(INNO-LiPA Rif. TB Kit: Line Probe Assay, Innogenetics, Belgium) tests after polymerase chain reaction form clinical specimens were compared with that of conventional antimicrobial susceptibility tests. From February, 1995 through February, 1996 thirty rifampin resistant and thirty susceptible strains of M. tuberculosis were collected; and those were then subjected to rpoB gene sequencing and INNO-LiPA testing. The findings were as summarized below. Twenty eight patients(93.3%) out of thirty who had resistant strain showed multidrug resistance while two(6.7%) showed single drug resistance to rifampin. The rpoB gene sequencing revealed twenty eight(93.3%) sensitive strains agreed with results of conventional culture and susceptibility testing, but two(6.7%) strains disagreed with the conventional test results. Those two showed substitution of 526 histidine(CAC) by tyrosine(TAC) and asparagine(AAC). Twenty five(83.3%) of thirty resistant strains showed amino acid substitution within rpoB gene region. The patterns of this substitution by sequence were as following: ten(33.3%) strains of 531 serine(TCG) to leucine(TTG); seven(23.3%) of 516 aspartic acid(GAC) to valine(GTC), tyrosine and histidine ; seven(23.3%) of 526 histidine to arginine(CGC), tyrosine, aspartic acid, cystidine and serine ; and one(3.3%) of 533 leucine to proline(CCG). Of those the substitution of 526 histidine by serine has not been reported previously. INNO-LiPA test showed twenty eight(93.3%) of thirty sensitive strains agreed with conventional test results. Twenty seven(90.0%) of thirty resistant strains were agreeable with the INNO-LiPA results. The profiles of INNO-LiPA of resistant strains revealed absence of S5 band(43.4%), S4 band(23.3%), S2 band(13.3%), S1 band(10.0%) and S3 band(0%) in sequence. Of twenty seven strains showing absence of S bands, seventeen(63.3%) had confirmatory mutant R-probes. The retrospective review of patients' record showed 73.3% of patients who had resistant strains also had cavitary lesions of lungs(p<0.01). Twenty two(73.3%) of thirty resistant strains were isolated from patients having cavitary lesions of lungs. The most frequently observed mutation pattern of the resistant strains from the cavitary lesions was 531 substitution of serine by leucine(90.0% of serine -> leucine). Twenty seven(90.0%) of thirty sensitive strains and twenty four(80.0%) of thirty resistant strains were agreeable with both methods. Therefore, it is concluded that rpoB gene sequencing and INO-LiPA test after polymerase chain reaction are effective methods for rapid detection of rifampin resistant M. tuberculosis which is the surrogate marker for multidrug resistance. In particular, rpoB gene sequencing is the choice of method to discover a new mutant strain.

      • 증식성 질환에서 뇨중 유리형 L-fucose의 진단적 유용성 평가

        Background: L-fucose is a rare carbohydrate present at non-reducing ends of glycochains of glycoconjugate of plasma membrane. L-fucose is suggested to be related to some cancers and proliferative diseases. Thus this study has been conducted to elucidate the usefulness of urinary L-fucose as a marker for rapidly proliferating lesions. Methods: Total 81 random spot urine samples were collected once from randomely selected inpatients in Ajou University Hospital of the following disease categories and number of patients: hepatoma 11, liver cirrhosis 18, upper gastrointestinal bleeding 6, hepatitis 8, pancreatitis 6, other carcinomas 14, pulmonary tuberculosis 8 and diabetes mellitus 10. Additional 22 random spot urine samples collected from healthy adult were used as normal control. These urine specimens were subjected to measurement of L-fucose and creatinine levels. The results were expressed as L-fucose μ㏖/g of creatinine. The urinary L-fucose was determined using UFC test kit (TaKaRa, Japan) on Hitachi 7070 autoanalyzer. The principle of the measurement is enzymatic method using L-fucose dehydrogenase with NAD^(+). The Urinary creatinine was measured by Jaffe method on Hitachi 7070. Results: The mean± standard deviation of L-fucose in urine established from the control group was 164±38.8 umol/gCr. The L-fucose levels were significantly elevated in the following diseases: hepatoma 301±90.9, liver cirrhosis 351±90.9, hepatitis 201±58.8, diabetes mellitus 315±181.7, carcinomas 289±124.1 and pulmonary tuberculosis 350±125.9. The other disease groups did not show increase of urinary L-fucose. Conclusion: Urinary L-fucose level appears to be elevated in cases associated with malignancy and wound healings. Thus it is a potential candidate as a marker for rapidly proliferating lesions. But it does not discriminate malignancy from benign condition.
