Objectives: The aim of this study was to evaluate denture delivery program for older people of the public health centers in Korea. Methods: The assessment tool developed in the study consists of the following three domains-`Construction,` `Process`, and `Outcome`. For the individual evaluation of denture delivery program, authors designed 6 question items on `Construction` domain, 5 question items on `Process` domain and 6 question items on `Outcome` domain. Validity test of all questionnaires were carried out by preliminary survey (Cronbach`s Alpha=0.753). Program self evaluation sheets were distributed to nationwide 242 public health center, and 103 centers replied. Mean evaluation score(full mark) and correlation between question items were produced from evaluation replies. Results: 1. Total self-evaluated score was relatively low as 64.15(100), so it needed the overall reappraise the program. 2. Construction indices were revealed as 21.94 (30), and administrative guidance should be suggested. 3. It revealed so low remarks on the process appraisal, estimated as 20.23 that we should consider for proper setting of dental workforces. 4. It was calculated as low score 21.98 (40) in the results indices, so organised systems should focus on the denture delivery program can make promotion of patients oral health. 5. The results indices score explained 20.9% of evaluation model(p<0.001) by the linear regression model analysis. Strategic plan, physical resources, program management were statistically significant variables effect on result score(p<0.05), but human power and organizational structure were not. Conclusions: Denture delivery program for older people need overall complement consideration about work process and more reliable evaluation system to be effectively performed.

Objectives. The study was undertaken to identify factors affecting tooth scaling with the aim of enhancing the procedure in korean adolescent. Methods. The subjects of the study were 74,698 subjects who answered to the 2007 korea Youth Risk Behavior Web-based survey. The responses of 73,836 subjects were used for the final analysis. Analyses conducted using SPSS version 12.0 included Chi-square test to identify tooth scaling rate according to subject characteristics and a multivariate logistic regression analysis to determined independent significance. Results. Of the respondents, 10,060 (25.6%) had received tooth scaling. School Grade municipality of residence and economic level were significantly associations with scaling. The practice of scaling displayed significant point, related difference depending on general characteristics and oral health. Multiple logistics regression analysis revealed significant independent variables were school grade, city of residence undiminished healthy, tobacco smoking, bleeding gums, sealant experience and previous fluoridation. Conclusions. Public policy is needed to prevent economic constraints from worsening oral health. The importance of oral health should be communicated.
