      • 2-Dehydroemetine hydrochloride(Ro 1-9334)에 依한 肺吸蟲症 臨床治療 成績

        44 cases of paragonimiasis were admitted in 121 Army Hospital for the clinical trial with the drug, dehydroemetine hydrochloride. Dehydroenietine hydrochloride was administered to 19 cases with the doses of 1 mg/kg of body weight/day for 10 days, and second course of 13 day administration was followed after 12 day rest. The remain of cases were applied as control group for emetine-HCI, astiban, and 5% glucose solution. The result of the trial are summarized as follows; 1) 15 out of 19 cases showed decrease of E.P.D. (egg per day) after the second course. 3 converted. to egg negative and 5 showed complete disappearance of blood sputum. 2) Three cases showed radiological improvement in X-ray picture. 3) Blood pressure, red cell sedimentation rate, and white blood cell count became worse at the beginning of the administration of the drug in several cases with short duration, then continued to be with in the normal range of their values until after the second course. 4) Electrocardiographic changes were very slight in several cases, but recovered to normal in 1-'2 weeks after the administration of the second course. 5) Systemic side effects were practically absent. 6) No improvement of symptoms was observed in 2 cases administered with astiban, 3 cases with emetine-HCI, and 20 cases with 5% glucose as control.

        Effect of changes in ambient conditions on the homogeneous combustion characteristics and flammability limits of biodiesel fuel combustion using surrogate fuel coupled with a combustion mechanism

        The purpose of this study was to analyze numerically the homogeneous combustion characteristics of biodiesel and diesel fuels and to investigate the effect of changes in ambient conditions on the homogeneous combustion and flammability limits of biodiesel and diesel using a surrogate species coupled with a combustion mechanism. The ignition delay characteristics of biodiesel and diesel were shown to be below 2 ms when the ambient temperature was less than 1000 K, and at the same time, the ambient pressure was above 20-25 atm. The combustion temperature, combustion pressure, and NO X emissions increased because the chemical reaction rate was influenced by the acceleration of the overall oxidation rate during combustion until the peak point of calculated analysis data among the whole ranges of equivalence ratio conditions. The CO emissions increased as the equivalence ratio rose. Thus, changes in the effect of ambient conditions on the homogeneous combustion characteristics of biodiesel and diesel fuels suggest that formation/oxidation related to the fuel combustion and emission reactions are limited to the thermo-chemical factors.

      • 만성기관지염 환자에서 중복유문 소견을 보인 위궤양 1예

        The double pylorus is a fistulous communication between gastric antrum and duodenal bulb. It appears to be an acquired lesion in the majority of cases. Upon routine endoscopic procedures, it is frequently seem to occur in males who are either alcoholics, diabetics, those with chronic renal failure, chronic lung disease. If it is no developing complications such as septal rupture, double pylorus is well response to medical treatment. A 51-year-old man who had been taking medication over a long period for the chronic bronchitis was admitted to this hospital because of epigastric soreness and indigestion for 1 month. Endosopic findings showed two large openings of the pyloric channel and gastric ulcer in the channel. We thought that this case was an acquired lesion reasult of repeated gastric ulcer. We report a case of double pylrous with the brief review of literatures. (Korean J Gastrointest Endosc 2002;25:89-91) 중복유문은 원위전정부와 십이지장을 연결하는 유문륜이 두 개로 이루어진 드문 위장관 기형으로 주로 위 소만과 십이지장 구부의 상부에서 발생한다. 중복유문의 발생은 궤양에 의한 이차적인 경우와 발생학적으로 게실이나 낭종에 의해 생길 수 있다. 검진 내시경에서 남자에게 빈발하고 알코올 중독, 당뇨, 만성 신부전, 만성 폐질환 등의 기저질환을 동반한 경우가 흔하다. 대부분의 환자에서 궤양의 병력이 있으나 중복유문의 증상은 경미하며, 격막 파열과 같은 합병증이 없다면 유문의 변형에도 불구하고 내과적 치료에 잘 반응한다. 저자들은 만성 기관지염으로 장기간 약물 복용을 하던 51세 남자 환자의 내시경 검사에서 위궤양에 동반된 중복유문 소견을 보인 1예를 경험하였으며, Helicobactoer pylori 제균과 궤양치료로 소화장애 증상이 완화되었다. 환자는 만성 기관지염에 대한 약물치료를 계속하면서 중복유문에 의한 합병증 및 궤양 재발에 대해 경과 관찰 중이다.

        Prediction of homogeneous combustion by modification of the fuel combustion mechanism in a DME fueled CI engine

        This study was performed to predict numerically the homogeneous combustion characteristics where the fuel combustion mechanism was modified in a DME fueled CI engine. To achieve this, detailed chemical kinetic reaction mechanisms were used for the prediction of homogeneous combustion of hydrocarbon fuels (diesel and DME). The results were compared in terms of cylinder pressure, heat release rate, and CO and NO X emissions. Calculations were performed using the detailed chemical kinetic mechanism, including 671 species and 2933 reactions for n-heptane (n-C 7 H 16 ) and 96 species and 453 reactions for dimethyl ether (CH 3 OCH 3 ). In addition, a modified NO Xmechanism was added to investigate the accumulated results of NO X production. The engine experiments were conducted using a single cylinder CI engine with a common-rail injection system. The fuel injection quantity was set to 8 mg, and the injection pressure was maintained at 50 MPa at 1500 RPM. In this study, DME and diesel fuels were injected for inducing the homogeneous combustion at BTDC 60 and BTDC 40 degree. The modified mechanism hardly affected the overall chemical reactions, which was almost identical in comparison to the results of the conventional mechanism. In addition, the ignition delay was slightly faster in the calculation of the nheptane mechanism because it showed that a high reaction rate was involved in the fuel oxidation and reaction of the NTC region. The combustion and exhaust emission characteristics of the homogeneous combustion simulation were in good agreement with the engine experimental results at BTDC 60 degree of injection timing, but the CO emission was over predicted when the n-heptane mechanism was employed in the DME combustion simulation. The chemical reactions of the DME combustion process were dominated by the forward reaction, which were CH 3 OCH 3 +O→CH 3 OCH 2 +OH and CH 3 OCH 3 +OH→CH 3 OCH 2 +H 2 O reactions. Furthermore, this study confirmed that an increase of OH radicals promotes the fuel oxidation reaction, and it can influence the combustion temperature, which also affected the processes of NO X production and CO oxidation reactions.

        고온ㆍ고압 조건에서 바이오디젤의 가연한계 예측

        This numerical study was analyzed to predict the flammability limits of biodiesel and diesel fuels in the high temperature and pressure conditions. To achieve this, the biodiesel fuel was simulated with the chemical species of n-heptane (n-C7H16), methyl decanoate (C11H22O2), and methyl-9-decenoate (C11H20O2), and the diesel fuel was substituted the chemical species of n-heptane. The closed 0-D homogeneous reactor model which was employed the 1100 K of ambient temperature and 35 atm of ambient pressure was used for the simulation of constant volume combustion, and the equivalence ratio was changed from 0.3 to 2.5 conditions. In addition, a comparative analysis study was conducted with the results of HCCI engine simulation and flammability limits according to the changes of equivalence ratio. The results of combustion temperature, pressure, and ignition delay were increased when the equivalence ratio elevated from 0.3 to 1.3 conditions because the increase in fuel oxidation rate affects the chemical reaction of the overall combustion process. Furthermore, the CO and NOX production under the rich combustion conditions are considered to have a trade off relationship since the OH radicals and O2 chemical species are greatly affected the CO and NOX production and oxidation processes

        n-heptane 연료 혼합비에 따른 n-butanol 연료의 연소 특성

        This study was performed to provide the information of the combustion characteristics of n-butanol fuel in accordance with the n-heptane fuel mixing ratio. The closed homogeneous reactor model was used for the analysis. The analysis conditions were set to 800 K of the initial temperature, 20 atm of initial pressure and 1.0 of equivalence ratio. The results of analysis were compared in terms of combustion temperature, combus-tion pressure, CO, Soot and NOX emissions. The results of combustion and exhaust emission characteristics showed that ignition delay was decreased and the combustion temperature was increased as the n-heptane mixing ratio was increased. Also, the carbon monoxide(CO) was slightly decreased however, the soot and nitrogen oxides(NOX) increased a little in accordance with the n-heptane fuel mixing ratio. In addition, the pressure difference was almost the same in any conditions.
