The impact of rainfall events on the sanitary indicator bacteria density of the shellfish-growing waters in Geoje Bay and Jaran Bay in Korea was investigated. The shellfish-growing area in Geoje Bay, which is a nearly closed basin, was not affected significantly, except near the stream mouth after 11.5 mm of rainfall in 1 day. However, most of the shellfish-growing water in the bay was polluted by fecal coliform bacteria after rain as heavy as 43.0 mm, and the levels of fecal indicator bacteria in some of the sea near the coast did not recover completely until 24 hours after the rainfall. By contrast, in Jaran Bay, which has no significant pollution source in the drainage area, although 9.3–490 MPN/100 mL of fecal coliform bacteria were detected near the stream mouth after rainfall of 33.5 and 81.0 mm, a very low level of the indicator bacteria was detected in the designated shellfish-growing area. During the investigation, the correlations between the sanitary indicator bacteria density and physical parameters, such as salinity and turbidity, were evaluated. Both the total coliform and fecal coliform densities were inversely correlated with salinity. Turbidity was positively correlated with the indicator bacteria density. The survey results suggest that for more efficient management of the shellfish-growing areas located in coastal areas, such as shellfish harvesting after rainfall, a detailed investigation of the effects of rainfall on the bacterial water quality in each growing area is needed.

PDA를 이용한 무선교량유지관리(MBMS) Application 개발

The accumulated BMS data have made it easy to make reasonable decision-making for bride maintenance and repair work. In the developing period of BMS, the bridge management was not easy due to the lack of understanding of BMS and low credibility of the data. In recent years, it has been possible to enhance the credibility of the data and to expand the application scopes of BMS with the efforts of Local Road Construction Offices. The reasonable decision making for bridge management can improve the performance of bridges under the practical constraints such as limited budget. It can then result in the reduction of bridge maintenance budget. This study provides the methodology for the application of mobile internet-based KOBMS for bridge management. The data flow for BMS is the most important factor for decision-making on budget allocation, and this study establishes the basic scheme of the data flow for BMS. The implementation of PDA for BMS may suggest a new paradigm of “Mobile” in the field of construction management.

Background : With its research and analysis on the actual condition of the oriental medical treatment and the oriental physical therapy and With its research on the physical therapists' awareness of the oriental physical therapy, Providing the basic information for the physical therapy development and the national heath improvement in the future. Methods : This research had performed random sampling survey of 200 physical therapists in Busan city and had excluded 4 with insincere answers or some ommission of survey contents. Result : The first most frequent disease type of the oriental medical center inpatients is paralytic sequela, the second is lumbago, the next is apoplexy in order. The first most frequent disease type of the outpatients is lumbago, the second is stiffness in the shoulder, the next is the sprain in order. And, it came out that most of frequent disease are required the physical therapy. Conclusion : This research results show high demands as well as the necessity of the oriental physical therapy. It seems physical therapy association needs very serious examination on the oriental physical therapy execution.

컴퓨터 마우스 보조기구 사용이 근활성도에 미치는 영향

Purpose : This study is to know the effect on muscle activity when people use mouse aid or not in computer working environment. Method : 11 people of both sex in their twentieth were tested. As a independent variable, the condition without mouse aid and the condition with movable mouse aid were selected, and as a dependent variable, MVC(%) on four muscles and inconvenience degree(RPE scale) on three body part(wrist, forearm, shoulder) were measured. Result : Analyzing the research, MVC(%) of extensor muscle of finger had notably higher muscle activity than other muscles, and there wasn't notable difference in muscle activity before and after using mouse aid. In case of using mouse aid, we tested by giving RPE questionnaire which segmentalized mental fatigue degree into hand, forearm, and shoulder, and resultingly, there wasn't notable differences perspectively. However, people felt less tiredness subjectively after they use the mouse aid. Conclusion : The usage of mouse aid seems to give comfort to computer users.

양식 넙치(Paralichthys olivaceus)에 대한 Erythromycin 휴약기간 설정

The withdrawal time of erythromycin in cultured olive flounder was investigated to ensure the food safety of the fish treated with erythromycin. The oral administration of erythromycin was carried out using the experimental diet containing erythromycin(200mg/kg) daily dose of 40 mg/kg body weight. The 45 day experimental period was broken into 7 days of habituation, 8 days of medication and 30 days of additional feeding without antibiotics. The erythromycin concentration in the flounder muscle had been increased gradually with medication. After 5 days of medication, the concentration increased to its maximum level of 6.05mg/kg. After discontinuing the antibiotic, the erythromycin concentration decreased drastically and day 9 was below 0.1mg/kg. The erythromycin concentration had slowly declined from the 6th to the 20th day after medication and disappeared completely after 25 days. From these results, the time needed to reduce the erythromycin level to the 0.2mg/kg limit adopted by the EU and Japan was suspected to be 4-6 days. Therefore, a reasonable withdrawal time following EU and Japanese regulatory guidelines for erythromycin in the cultured flounder could be estimated to be 10 days.

엉덩관절 가동범위에 따른 중간볼기근의 근활성도 비교

Background : The purpose of this study was to investigate the electromyographic(EMG) amplitude of the gluteus medius muscle bilaterally at various hip angles and motions(flexion, extension and abduction). Methods : Thirty young with a mean(SD) age of 21.03(1.69) years performed hip motions(flexion, extension and abduction) while the surface EMG activity of the gluteus medius muscles was recorded bilaterally. Subjects were instructed to use the right lower limb during moving 3 different direction. Differences in EMG amplitudes in according with movement direction and angle were assessed by use of paired t-test analyses of variance for the right and left lower extremities. The alpha level was set at .05. Results : Gluteus medius muscle EMG activities in the both side were significantly greater for abduction at angles of 30 degrees than those for other motions at other angles. Conclusion : Hip abduction at angles of 30 degrees on the standing position may be effective in activating the gluteus medius muscle.
