20대 성인의 체성분이 보행능력 · 가변성에 미치는 영향

본 연구는 체성분 중 20대 성인의 보행능력·가변성(Variability)에 영향을 미치는 변인을 평가하기 위한 예비연구이다. 총 33명의 젊은 성인은 생체전기저항법을 이용한 인바디(Inbody 520) 장비를 통해 체성분을 측정하였고 보행능력·가변성 평가를 위해 양 발에 7D IMU센서(GaitUp Physiology5)를 착용하고 실험실이 아닌 실제 400m운동장 트랙에서 스스로 선택한 속도로 보행하였다. 일차적으로 체성분과 보행능력, 가변성 간의 상관관계를 분석한 후, 이차적으로 체성분과 관련된 보행능력·가변성의 예측 변수를 밝히기 위해 체성분뿐만 아니라 성별, 연령, 키, 몸무게와 같은 신체적 특성과 보행속도를 표준화하기 위해 회귀모델에 조절변수로 적용하여 다중회귀분석(multiple linear regression analysis)을 실시하였다. 연구결과, 체성분 중 비만도를 나타내는 변인인 체지방량, 체지방률, 허리 엉덩이 둘레 비(WHR)와 하체 근육량이 보행능력의 예측변수로, 체지방 변인은 보행가변성의 예측변수로 나타났다(p<.05). 체성분과 관련하여 비만도를 나타내는 변인과 하체근육량이 보행능력과 가변성에 중요요인임을 밝힐 수 있었다. 결론적으로, 본 연구는 인체의 체성분의 특성에 따라 젊은 성인들일지라도 보행패턴이 변화한다는 것을 암시하고 있다. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the variables affecting the gait performance and the variability of young age adults (20-25years). Methods: A total of 33 young adults measured body composition using the Inbody 520 instrument using bioelectrical impedance method. A 7-D IMU sensor (GaitUP Physiology5) was worn on both feet to measure gait performance and variability. They walked at the speed of self-selected pace at the actual 400m track. First, after analyzing the correlation between body composition, gait performance, and variability, secondly, in order to identify predictive variables of gait performance and variability related to body composition, multiple linear regression analysis was conducted adjusting sex, height, body weight, gait speed, age. Results: Body mass index, body fat percentage, waist hip circumference ratio (WHR) and lower body mass were predictive variables of gait performance, and body fat was predictive variable of gait variability (p<.05). Conclusion: In terms of body composition, we could reveal that the variable indicating the degree of obesity and the lower muscle mass were important factors in gait performance and variability. In conclusion, this study suggests that the gait pattern changes even in young adults depending on the body composition of the human body.
습성 나이관련황반변성으로 진단된 90세 이상 초고령 환자의 특성

Purpose: To evaluate the characteristics of patients aged ≥ 90 years who were diagnosed with neovascular age-related macular degeneration (AMD). Methods: A retrospective review of medical records was performed for 44 patients aged ≥ 90 years diagnosed with neovascular AMD. History of cerebrovascular or cardiovascular disorder and visual acuity at diagnosis were assessed. Fellow eye visual acuity data were also collected. When the fellow eye visual acuity was worse than 0.5, the primary reason for the visual deterioration was identified. Results: The mean patient age was 91.5 ± 1.5 years (range: 90–95 years). Ten (22.7%) patients had histories of cerebrovascular or cardiovascular disorders. The mean logarithm of the minimal angle of resolution (logMAR) of visual acuity was 1.11 ± 0.51 and the visual acuity was worse than 0.1 in 20 eyes (45.5%). The fellow eye visual acuity was worse than 0.5 in 26 eyes (59.1%). The primary reason was neovascular or atrophic AMD in 23 eyes (88.5%). Conclusions: The incidence of cerebrovascular or cardiovascular disorders was relatively high in patients aged ≥ 90 years. Patients also had poor visual acuity at diagnosis and a high incidence of fellow eye visual deterioration. These systemic conditions should be considered when treating these patients.
