The purpose of this paper was to find the present situation of primary English education in Korea and its problems and to search some desirable approaches for our current primary English education. The research questions posed in this study were (1) Is the English education important? (2) Why is the English important? (3) Is the English Class interesting? The result showed that English is important, interesting and necessary for children. Three recommendations for implementation were (1) Improving teacher'`s hearing capability, (2) developing more practical teaching ways, and (3) making out more effective teaching aids and facilities. Further, it is recommended that Increasing classhours a week is very important for the students.

헤밍웨이와 피츠제럴드 작품 속 주인공 연구

This paper aims to identify the characters in Hemingway`s and Fitzgerald`s works. Their novels have often been treated as the love affairs and the fall or decline of the American Dream in the 1920s~1940s. Though they have led to some stimulating plots, it seems to be a little bad. They reduced their novels to a variety of simplified on. Therefore, this thesis shows that they also offer a strong moral sense against material society of l920s~1940s. Nick tried to take moral sense opposed to the dominant values of materialism. Although the terminal of these novels is ambiguous, I read Nick`s leaving the reality for the Rich and the True as a moral gesture in The Great Gatsby and In Our Time. His return to the Truth shows us that Fitzgerald criticized the corrupted materialism embodied in The Great Gatsby. In Conclusion, I claim that though Nick Adams and Nick Carraway does not propose an alternative to materialistic society, they showed a struggling will against real world

자살위험 병사의 생명존중 집단상담 프로그램 효과성 연구

본 연구의 목적은 생명존중 집단상담 프로그램이 자살위험 병사의 사회적지지, 자아정체감, 및 대인관계에 미치는 효과를 검증하는데 있다. 효과 검증을 위해 프로그램 실시 전 실험집단, 비교집단, 통제집단의 동질성 검증을 위해 일원분산분석(ANOVA)을 실시하였고, 효과 여부와 지속성을 확인하기 위해 사전점수를 공변인으로 하고, 사후검사를 종속변인으로 공변량(ANCOVA)분석을 실시하였다. 참가신청자 30명을 실험집단(10명), 비교집단(10명), 통제집단(10명)에 각각 무선 배정하여, 사전․사후검사를 실시하였으며. 연구 분석결과, 집단상담 프로그램에 참여한 실험집단은 비교집단과 통제집단에 비해 사회적지지, 자아정체성, 대인관계가 긍정적인 효과로 나타났다. 이것은 여러 가지 급변하는 어려운 한계 속에서 병사의 갈등과 정서적, 심리적 부분을 다루는 관련 군 사회복지 실천 현장에서 군 생활 만족감과 군 생활을 적응하는데 있어서 활용가능성을 제시하는 데에 의의와 큰 성과라 할 수 있다. The purpose of this study is to verify the effects of collective counseling programs on the social support, self-identity, and interpersonal relationships of soldiers at risk of suicide. To verify the effects, a one-way variance analysis (ANOVA) was performed to verify homogeneity of the experimental group, comparative group, and control group, and a covariate (ANCOVA) analysis was performed as a dependent variable to check the effects and continuity of the post-test. Thirty participants were allocated wirelessly to the experimental group (10), the comparative group (10) and the control group (10) respectively. Research analysis showed that the group involved in group counseling had a positive effect compared to the comparative group and the control group. This can be said to be a significant achievement in demonstrating the satisfaction of military life and the availability of military life in adapting to military life at the relevant military rehabilitation practice site, which deals with soldier conflicts, emotional and psychological aspects amid various rapidly changing limitations.

Hawthorne``s Characters`` Inner Conflicts in The Scarlet Letter are characterized by his memorable themes about fate and the human free will. His fate consists of Calvinistic Providence, and Predestination. His perspectives on the human free will appear to stem form different sources: partly from Calvinism, and partly from Transcendentalism and Arminianism. When his characters`` inner conflicts are intertwined with fatalistic forces by free will and sins, he is troubled by the good. In The Scarlet Letter Hester has strong irresistible free will and resists fate, but the one is devastated by the other. Her husband Chillingworth has also the proud free will which includes evil intention to sin against Holy Spirit. That is, he lacks love and reverence for the human soul, whose evil is called “unpardonable”. He accentuates intellectual arrogance more than soul and finally he collapses, being unable to recover the Providence. In addition, he takes a posture with an inner conflicts on human relations, too.

To understand Hemingway’s literature, we must analyze his works with an intensive investigation into main characters. An analysis of main characters cannot be made separately and Hemingway’s characters consist of heroes and heroines. However, Hemingway’s intentions are revealed only through heroes. Thus, this work will analyze heroes only. In Hemingway’s works, Nick Adams awakes to the realities of life and social surroundings by going though violence, death, evil and pain. In many different works, the young Nick Adams opens his eyes to see violence and hardships. Jake Barns in The Sun Also Rises and Frederick Henry in A Farewell to Arms are not only very important characters, but they share unmistakable similarities with Hemingway. Hemingway believed that through True at First Light he came to a most important turning point in his literature. Nick Adams enriches his experience, sees life differently and develops onto undefeated heroes.

공포 감정을 라켓 감정으로 가진 부적응 병사의 심리적 특징에 대한 질적 내용분석 연구

본 연구는 공포 감정을 라켓 감정으로 가진 부적응 병사의 심리적 특징을 가족적 차원, 심리 · 정서적 차원, 사회적 차원, 교육적 차원으로 구분하여 다양하게 영향을 미치는 것을 확인하기 위한 질적 내용분석 연구이다. 연구결과, 가족적 차원에서는 부모에 대한 무서운 감정과 적개심, 공격성을 느끼고. 심리 · 정서적 차원에서는 ‘여기서 벗어나고 싶다,’ ‘더 이상 고통스럽게 살고 싶지 않다,’ 사회적 차원에서는 타인이 자신의 존재를 거부하고 있다고 생각했으며, 죽음에 대한 강한 공포를 경험하는 것으로 나타났다. 교육적 차원에서는 부정적인 견해로 실패의 삶이 공포로 나타났다. 공통적인 것은 어린 시절 가정폭력에 심하게 노출되어 신체적, 심리적으로 경험한 공포가 연구의 주요 핵심 결과이다. 이러한 결과는 지속적, 반복적으로 나타났으며, 어린 시절 형성된 공포 감정은 라켓 감정으로 인해 계속 고통을 경험하는 것으로 나타났다. This study uses a qualitative content analysis approach to confirm that the division of psychological characteristics such as family, psychological, emotional, social, and educational level helps understand how maladaptive soldiers with phobia feeling are affected in different levels by racket feeling. The results of this study are as follows. First, This analysis shows that psychological responses at the family level include fear, hatred, and aggressive feeling against their parents. Especially, the analysis of abuse experiences in early childhood reveals that they were exposed to severe violence and feeling of mothers` lethargic repetition due to fathers` physical violence against their children and wives through their alcoholism. At the psychological and emotional level, a feeling of fear that “I want to get out of here” or “I don`t want to live anymore and can`t bear any more pain” was the response to racket feeling, and the reaction in interpersonal relationships at the social level was thought to be the rejection of the self-existence of others, and it appears that they experienced a strong fear of death. On the educational level, the life of failure turned out to be a horror with negative view. These four cases demonstrated that the main factors of experiencing mental, psychological and physical sufferings were derived from childhood experience of severe domestic violence caused by parental conflict. This study shows that these experiences occur repeatedly and that the phobia racket feelings formed in childhood continue to affect.

바람직한 인터넷을 이용한 영어교육

The purpose of this study aims at considering the concepts, development, and features of the Internet which can be used in English education as a kind of CALL(Computer Assisted Language Learning). Cybers and computers have an influence on every aspect of our lives. Education must be changed with the current of the times. Frequently the internet has become one of desirable discussed topics nowadays. English education with the internet has excited English language students and teachers. English class with the Internet is different from an existing class. The one gives various materials to students and many opportunities to read. Students also think that the Internet is helpful to study English and have various learning opportunities through the Internet. Besides, the purpose of this study is to discuss how we teach English with the internet. The internet brings a lot of information into the classroom. So if instructors teach English with the internet, teachers and students have a feeling of satisfaction. The internet serves as a teaching instrument with which English teachers can develop a variety of teaching methods. Also, as students gain interests in the internet, they will improve their skills in English reading, listening, writing and speaking. Students were divided into two parts, which were low level students and high level students. Internet English was taught to each group of learners. The high level students achieved better marks than the low level students. But, the low students developed more interest in English. The internet can play an important play for English students, and it will be essential doubtly in facilitating the learning of foreign language. Finally, this study suggests teachers must take the plunge and approach the Internet as a learning experiences themselves to avoid facing the difficulties or problems associated with the use of the Internet in English classes in Korean secondary schools. The findings suggested that we need a unified curriculum based on educational principle or theory and a very a specific and in-depth goal for integrating the Internet into a language class.

호손과 헤밍웨이 작품 속의 상징성 비교 연구

This paper aims to study and analyze influence on America literature through a comparative study of symbolism, similarities, and differences in the works of Hawthorne and Hemingway. Hawthorne’s symbolic technique was an attempt to escape from the restraint’s that his predecessors built in their literature work and tried to show the conflict of the human condition through symbols such as the church, death, darkness, numbers, crucifixes, etc. We can also observe the way Hemingway did not proclaim that he was personally a Christian in public, however, his piety was ingrained from his parents, and portrayed Christianity acutely all of his works of literature, and especially to the main character, Santiago, in ‘The Old Man and the Sea’. We can observe the way Hawthorne used characters’ names and objects to symbolize ideas in the representative work ‘The Scarlet Letter’, the way Hemingway shows symbolism in all of his work. Readers of their work can easily and plainly find signs of Christian symbolism. (Jeonju University)
