        갑상선 일엽절제시 수술방법에 따른 임상적 비교 고찰

        Purpose: The conventional surgical treatment for thyroid disease requires long skin incision with skin flap that can result in prominent scar, parethesia, hypesthesia in the neck. With recent developement in surgical techniques for thyroid tumors, several apporaches have been applied to neck surgery. We performed thyroid operations with 3 different methods and evaluated the role of respective operation method. Methods: Three different surgical methods; conventional, minimally invasive open, and endoscopic thyroidectomy with axillary approach, were performed on 60 patients who were admitted to Ajou medical center from June to December 2003. All patients were diagnosed as having a benighn mass in unilateral lobe of thyroid gland preoperatively by ultrasonography and fine needle aspiration cytology. We compared the clinical results of respective 3 operation methods each other. Results: Hospital stay and the operation time for minimal invasive open thyroidectomy was significantly shorter than those for endoscopic thyroidectomy (P<0.000). Amounts of post operative analgesics were the lowest in minimal invasive open thyroidectomy than other groups (P<0.019). The patients who was treated by using endoscopic procrdure were more satisfied with the cosmetic result. There was no significant complication in three groups. Conclusion: Minimally invasive open thyroidectomy and endoscopic thyroidectomy can be performed safely with cosmetic benefit, and then recommanded as a alternativeoperative method in selected patients.         신명나면 잘 통(通)하는가?: 축제의 신명체험이 커뮤니케이션 효능감에 미치는 영향 및 그 선행요인에 관한 연구

        신명나면 커뮤니케이션이 잘 이루어지고, 서로 잘 통하는가? 이 연구는 바로 이러한 소박한 질문에서 시작되었다. 이를 위해서 춘천마임축제 ``도깨비 난장``의 방문객을 대상으로, 한국인의 대표적인 긍정 정서인 신명의 체험현상 및 그 원인과 결과로 구성된 신명커뮤니케이션 모형을 검증해 보았다. 서베이를 통해 수집한 자료를 분석한 결과, 마임축제에서 강렬하게 신명을 체험한 방문객일수록 말하기, 듣기와 이해, 대화 등의 영역에서 커뮤니케이션 효능감이 고양됐다. 또한 그러한 신명체험은 축제에 대한 방문객의 태도나 활력충전의 참여동기 같은 심리적 요인, 그리고 축제 프로그램 자체의 상황적 요인에 의해서 영향을 받는 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 축제의 상황적 측면에 대한 평가는 응답자의 심리적 요인에 의해서도 달라졌다. 이러한 연구결과가 갖는 이론적 의의를 긍정심리학 및 축제커뮤니케이션 연구의 관점에서 논의하고, 축제현장의 커뮤니케이션 실무자에게 시사하는 전략적 함의를 짚어보았다. Does shinmyoung (i.e., exhilaration, excitement, etc.) make people feel that they are good at communicating with others? In an attempt to answer this simple question, the current study conducts a survey among visitors of an international mime festival and examines the shinmyoung communication model which consists of antecedents, phenomenon, and consequences of shinmyoung experiences. The survey data indicate that the visitors experiencing stronger shinmyoung are more likely to feel strong competence in communication such as speaking, listening and understanding, and conversation. Shinmyoung experiences are influenced by psychological factors (e.g., visitors` intention and motivation) as well as situational factors (e.g., program quality, interaction between players and audiences). In addition, psychological factors are found to change the audiences` perception of situational factors. The theoretical and strategic implications are discussed in light of positive psychology and de-Westernizing communication research.

        대학생의 미디어이용 및 신명감정과 진로만족 모형의 통합

        이 연구는 한국인의 대표적인 긍정 정서인 신명과 미디어 요인이 진로결정 자기효능감, 진로만족 및 삶의 만족과 어떤 관계가 있는가를 규명하고자 했다. 대학생의 서베이 데이터를 분석한 결과, 진로결정에 대한 자기효능감이 높을수록 진로만족도도 높았다. 또 진로결정 자기효능감과 진로만족도가 높을수록 신명을 많이 느꼈고, 신명을 많이 느낄수록 삶에 만족했다. 진로결정 자기효능감과 진로만족도는 삶의 만족도에 직접 영향을 미치기도 했다. 미디어의 역할을 보면, 진로내용을 다룬 인쇄매체와 방송매체에 주목할수록 진로결정 자기효능감이 높았지만, 인터넷 매체에 대한 주목은 신명감정에 부정적 영향을 미쳤다. 이러한 분석결과를 바탕으로, 신명나는 대학생활을 위해서는 미디어교육의 진로지도가 중요함을 역설했다. The purpose of the current study is to investigate how college students` media use and their shinmyoung emotions interacted with career decision-making self-efficacy, career satisfaction and life satisfaction. The analysis of survey data showed that re-spondents` career decision-making self-efficacy influenced their career satisfaction. Both career decision-making self-efficacy and career satisfaction influenced shinmyoung emotion, which, in turn, influenced life satisfaction. In addition, respondents` career decision-making self-efficacy as well as career satisfaction directly influenced their life satisfaction. Regarding the roles of mass me-dia use, print and broadcasting media were positively associated with career decision-making self-efficacy whereas internet media was negatively associated with shinmyoung emotion. The im-portance of vocational guidance was emphasized in media educa-tion for colleges students` life satisfaction.

        신명나는 일터는 어떻게 만드는가? -춘천마임축제 자원봉사자의 사례를 통해 본 신명감정 관리모형 탐색

        Workplace of shinmyoung is a rhetorical phrase that can be commonly heard these days. Then what is needed to inspire shinmyoung in a workplace? The current study sought to answer this question with a perspective of emotion management in the Public Relations filed. A combination of the shinmyoung management cycle in the business administration field and research findings from fields such as psychology and communication leads to a hypothetical model of shinmyoung emotion management. Survey data, which were conducted among the volunteers in Chuncheon International Mime Festival (CIMF), supported the proposed model. In accordance with the model, the management cycle of shinmyoung could be well worked by promoting community-driven discipline, encouraging organizational communication, inspiring autonomy and creativity of employees, and fairly rewarding results. This well- worked management cycle generated shinmyoung emotion-consisted of primary pleasure, secondary pleasure, and sympathy-which was ulti-mately followed by an intention to volunteer again. Community-driven discipline and inspiration of autonomy/ creativity were especially important in that they had a direct impact upon intentions to volunteer again. Practical and theoretical implications of these study results were discussed in lights of emotion management.

        "신명의 매체서사학"에 대한 탐색적 고찰

        신명에 기초한 한국 매체서사학의 가능성을 탐색해 보고자, 이 글에서는 서사학일반에 대해서 간략히 살펴본 후, 매체내용 및 매체의 생산/수용 경험을 통합적으로 규명할 수 있는 매체서사학을 제안하면서 그 단초를 신명에서 찾을 수 있음을 주장했다. 이를 위해서 신명을 통해서 매체내용 및 매체경험이 접목되는 근거를 논증한 후, 한국문화에 나타난 신명의 서사에 대해 살펴보았다. 또 신명의 서사학을 확장하고 심화할 수 있는 통시적 공시적 접근법을 제안하고, 특히 디지털시대 신명의 서사가 보여주는 가능성을 탐색했다. 이어서 하나의 적용사례로 광고 제작물 및 제작경험에 나타난 신명의 서사에 대해서 분석하였다. 마지막으로 신명을 보편성과 특수성이 결합된 문화유전자(meme)로 보고, 문화유전자 전쟁에서 신명의 서사가 갖는 의의를 논의했다. In an attempt to explore the concept of shinmyoung underlying Korean media narratology, this paper reviewed a basic fundamental tenet of narratology and proposed the theoretical framework of media narratology that could synthetically investigate both contents and experiences (of production and consumption) in the media. After arguing that shinmyoung could integrate both contents and experiences in media narratology, this paper provided an overview of shinmyoung narrative in the Korean culture and history, suggested diachronic and synchronic approaches to the shinmyoung narratology, and explored the potentialities of shinmyoung narrative in the digital era. In addition, this paper presented an exploratory case study analyzing shinmyoung narrative in the advertisement and creative experiences of advertising. The implications of shinmyoung as a meme (i.e., cultural gene) were discussed in the lights of cultural wars in the media landscape.

        텔레비전 시청이 육체이미지 혼란에 미치는 영향

        본 연구는 텔레비전 등 대중매체와 이용이 자기 몸에 대한 불만이나 섭취장애(eating disorders) 같은 육체이미지 혼란(body image disturbances)에 어떠한 영향을 주는가를 규명하고자 했다. 사회적 비교이론 및 선행연구를 바탕으로, 남녀 대학생 319명의 서베이 자료를 분석한 결과 확정된 연구모형에서, 수용자가 어떻게 대중매체 속의 육체이미지를 정보처리하는지가 육체이미지 혼란에 핵심적 역학을 한다는 것이 확인되었다. 대중매체 미용과 육체이미지 처리와의 관계는 수용자의 성별에 따라 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났으나 그 성별 차이의 양상은 일반적인 통념과는 달랐다. 남자 대학생의 경우 그들의 대중매체 이용이 육체이미지 처리를 통해 육체이미지 혼란에 간접적인 영향을 미쳤다. 하지만 여대생의 경우 대중매체의 이용은 그들의 육체이미지 혼란에 아무런 영향을 미치지 못했다. 분석결과가 내포하는 이론적, 실무적 함의를 보건 커뮤니이션의 관점에서 논의하였다. This study examines the links between types of television viewing, gender, people‘s perceptions of thin bodies in media, and disturbances they may have about their own bodies. Based on social comparision theory and previous research, we explore the moderating role of gender and mediating role of body image processing in the media influence on body image disturbances. Data from a Web-based survey of 319 Korean college students were analyzed with a structural equation model (SEM). The final structural models confirmed the importance of body image processing and gender in the impacts of media use on body image disturbances. Body image processing mediated the impacts of people′s self-monitoring tendency on body image disturbances. A striking gender difference was found in the relationships between media use and body image processing; but its direction was contrary to conventional thinking. For male audiences, media use influenced body image disturbances indirectly via body image processing; however, there was no linkage between females media use and their body image processing. Implications for researchers and practitioners in health communications are discussed.

        안티 사이트의 제3자 효과

        In an attempt to synthesize knowledge about others' reactions, agreement level, and third-person effects, this study examined how peoples perception of majority-minority status could influence their behavioral intentions directly and indirectly via third-person perceptions. A 3 (knowledge about others reactions: success, fail, and control conditions) X 3 (agreement level: disagreeing, agreeing, and neutral groups) experiment was conducted in the context of controversial websites that protest against mainstream conservative news media. Results revealed contingency effects of agreement level in the relationship between knowledge about others' reactions, third-person effects, and their behavioral intentions. For those who agreed with the claims in the controversial website, when they were told that the controversial websites successfully gained public support (i.e., perceived majority status), they were more likely to indicate intentions for online and offline actions and less likely to display reverse third-first perceptions about the controversial websites. However, this is not the case for those who disagreed with the websites. These implications were discussed.

        인터넷 웹사이트의 의제설정 효과

        As websites advocating controversial issues continue to grow in popularity, there are increasing research concerns as to whether these controversial websites can play significant roles in shaping public opinion and civic participation. Through the framework of agenda-setting theory, a survey of 580 Korean college students was conducted regarding anti-Chosun sites advocating the journalism reform issue against the leading conservative newspaper Chosun Ilbo in South Korea. Results demonstrated the first- and second level agenda-setting effects of the controversial web sites. After controlling other demographic and media use variables, the level of exposure to the websites advocating the controversial issue was positively associated with the perceived importance of the issue [issue agenda-setting] as well as the degree of agreement with the issue [attribute agenda-setting]. In addition, those who perceived the journalism reform issue as important and agreed with the issue were more likely to express behavioral intentions both online and offline. We discussed the theoretical and practical implications of these findings in terms of public opinion and civic participation on the Internet.

        여성의 날씬한 몸에 관한 미디어 담론 분석

        Media discourse about female thin bodies is dramatically increasing in the so-called body society where social and moral issues are centered around and embodied in human bodies. Looking at a controversy about Lee Young-Ja, a Korean female comedian who had dramatically lost weight in a suspicious manner, this study investigates how media discourse constructs the female thin body by using a method of semiotic analysis. The result of syntagmatic analysis suggested that a female thin body could be represented as heroine, villain, and victim according to media framing. Paradigmatic analysis found sets of binary oppositions between the thin body versus fat body, in which being thin equals autonomy or empowerment. A myth behind contemporary society was also revealed, namely that a thin body could be passed as an acceptable female body. Mass media need to play an educational role in demystifying the body myth in order to reveal that the thin body just makes a spectacle of autonomy instead of authentic autonomy.
