Chronic kidney disease (CKD) can be progressive, and its prognosis is worse because of increased mortality when it is associated with diabetes and cardiac disease. The outcomes of diabetic kidney disease (DKD) need to be improved, despite multifactorial interventions including glucose and blood pressure (BP) control, and the use of renin-angiotensin system (RAS) inhibitors, statins, and aspirin. Recent clinical trials suggest that sodium-glucose cotransporter-2 (SGLT2) inhibitors offer additional cardiorenal protection in DKD and non-diabetic CKD on top of RAS inhibition. The action of SGLT2 inhibitors is derived from the proximal tubule of the kidney, but their systemic effects beyond glucose-lowering involve hemodynamic and non-hemodynamic mechanisms. First, SGLT2 inhibitors restore tubuloglomerular feedback and relieve glomerular hypertension and albuminuria. Second, natriuresis and renal glycosuria lead to fluid and weight loss, resulting in BP lowering and prevention of heart failure. Third, SGLT2 inhibitors have anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidative actions that can reduce renal and cardiac inflammation and fibrosis, probably via adenosine monophosphate-activated protein kinase and sirtuin-1 activation. Finally, the proximal tubular workload is relieved, accompanied by increased erythropoiesis. Hypoxia-inducible factor 1 may be stimulated by renal outer medullary hypoxia when tubular sodium transport shifts from the proximal convoluted tubule to the proximal straight tubule and thick ascending limb, due to SGLT2 inhibition. These effects may also be beneficial in non-diabetic CKD, and we anticipate that SGLT2 inhibitors will prove effective for albuminuria reduction and preservation of kidney function in primary kidney diseases, including glomerulonephritis. PCI는 피부근염에서 발생할 수 있는 드문 합병증으로 증례가 매우 적어 정확한 원인 및 위험인자에 대해 잘 알려지지 않았다. 본 증례 및 이전 논문의 증례를 토대로 볼 때 일반적으로 PCI에서의 위험 요소로 고려되는 코르티코스테로이드 및 면역 억제제를 피부근염에서의 PCI 위험인자로 단정하기는 어려울 것으로 보인다. 다만 전체 PCI 중 피부근염에서 발생하는 PCI가 여성에서 발병되는 비율이 높은 것으로 관찰되어 이를 위험인자로 고려할 수 있다. 피부근염 환자에서 발생하는 PCI를 조기에 진단하고 치료하여 환자의 생존율을 높일 수 있도록 이러한 성별 및 추가적인 위험인자에 대해 다기관 및 전향적인 연구가 시행되어야 할 것으로 생각된다. Pneumatosis cystoides intestinalis (PCI) is a rare disease with intramural gas formation in the gastrointestinal tract. The causes of PCI are various, and are commonly associated with collagen vascular disease. We present a case of a 48-year-old female with dermatomyositis (DM) who also developed PCI. Her risk of PCI may have been increased by multiple factors such as gender, DM itself, and medications including corticosteroids, methotrexate, and azathioprine. While the cause of, and risk factors for PCI in DM patients are not well known on a global scale, outcomes range from benign to life threatening. Therefore, we present a case study and review the literature to identify candidate risk factors for PCI.

Electrooptic characteristics of Xe-type flat fluorescent lamps (FFL) have been investigated by using a Q-V Lissajous method. It was found that the luminance of the MgO-coated FFL became more than doubled compared to normal FFLs operated at the same driving voltage, indicating the possibility of the efficacy improvement in the MgO-coated FFLs. Change in the driving condition, in particular, the duty ratio had effects on the electrooptic properties, and it was found that the duty ratio of 50% was the optimum condition from the viewpoints of the efficacy and the lamp voltage.

본 논문에서는 4G 이동통신 시스템 기반 기술인 MIMO (Multi-Input Multi-Output) 시스템에서, 채널 정보를 이용할 때, 결합 송수신 최적화 형태를 유도 하였다. Lagrange Multiplier Method를 이용하여 일반적인 SINR(Signal to interference and noise ratio)의 극대값을 유도하는 과정에서, 결합 송수신 형태를 수식적으로 유도하였고, 이를 ITU-R M.1225 채널 모델에 적용하여 시뮬레이션 하였다 또한 채널에 대한 정보가 없을때, 시공간 다이버시티를 얻을 수 있는 STBC(Space time Block Coding)의 MIMO 시스템과 비교하였다.
