        고등학생 대상 맞춤의학 체험 프로그램 개발 및 적용

        5 Instruction modules of personalized medicine experience program for high school students were developed and applied on school science programs. The program focused on gene analysis was composed of serial molecular biology experiments which are DNA extraction from oral cavity epidermal cells, duplication of target DNA by PCR, and Gel electrophoresis for confirmation of genomic DNA and ACE polymorphism respectively and a computer search activity for ACE using NCBI site. Program applied on 7 classes of 126 high school students and analyzed students′ responses with questionnaire. 88.9% Students accomplished total program successfully and they diagnosed the possibility of hereditary high blood pressure. Students’ most interesting activity is Agarose gel electrophoresis, Duplication of DNA by PCR, DNA extraction, and NCBI searching in order. Students’ worst difficulty is Loading DNA specimen on agarose gel, Making PCR specimen, Using micropipette, DNA extraction, and Making agarose gel orderly. 39.1% of newly learned science knowledge were from PCR activity among 4. They have positively experienced molecular biology experiments, future career, personalized medicine, bioinformatics and etc. From the results, developed program was helpful to experience personalized medicine for high school students.

        李楨 追崇과 <龜巖集> 간행으로 본 泗川 지역의 퇴계학맥 계승

        This paper reveals that the Confucian scholars of Sacheon have made a position as a scholar representing Toegye school in the West Gyeongsang area by publishing the Guam collection. Lee Jung's junior scholars established Gugye Seowon(구계서원) to guide him, and Gusan Sabi(구산사비) to make it clear that Lee Jeong inherited the line of descent from Sacheon. Hong Ga-shin, who wrote the ancestral rites of the Spring and Autumn Period of GuAm Seowon(구암서원), and Heo Mok, who wrote Gusan Sabi, are all the Yeongnam Sarim who connected the Toegye school. In the 19th century, Lee Ga-sin, the descendant of the Toegye, called him the most prominent disciple of Lee Hwang, when he asked for the memorial service. At the end of the year, the Confucian scholars of Sacheon succeeded the spirit of studying in the Toegye school by creating the “Daegwan daeyegye”(대관대유계) and devoting itself to Lee Jeong by building the Daegwandae(대관대). Then, in 1641, the Confucian scholars of Sacheon gathered the texts of the teachers and published the original texts of the GuAm. At this time, the introduction was write by Jo Gyeong and the epilogue was write by Heo Mog, and these were the Yeongnam Sarim who succeeded in the academic context of the decadence. Since then, descendants have published a collection of GuAm in 1749 and a collection of GuAm in 1902. At that time, descendants of Toegye and Yeongnam Sarim participated in literary publications, including writing introduction and epilogue. At the end of the year, Sacheon was ranked as an important area in the western Gyeongsangnam-do region that succeeded the Toegye school. 본고는 泗川 지역 儒林이 李楨을 추숭하고 『구암집』을 간행함으로써 이정을 서부경남지역 퇴계학맥을 대표하는 학자로 위상을 세워갔음을 밝힌 것이다. 이정의 후학들은 龜溪書院을 세워서 그를 배향하고, 龜山祠碑를 세워 이정이 사천에서 퇴계의 학통을 계승하였음을 분명히 하였다. 龜巖書院 春秋 享告文을 쓴 洪可臣, 龜山祠碑를 쓴 許穆은 모두 퇴계 학맥을 잇는 영남 사림들이다. 19세기에는 퇴계의 후손 李家淳이 이정의 諡號를 청하면서 이정을 이황의 으뜸가는 제자로 평하였다. 그리고 한말에 사천의 유림은 ‘대관대유계’를 만들고 대관대를 중건하여 이정을 배향함으로써, 퇴계학맥의 儒風을 계승하였다. 1 한편, 사천의 유림은 1641년에 선생의 遺文들을 모아 <구암집> 原集을 刊行하였다. 이때 서문은 趙絅이 짓고 跋文은 許穆이 지었는데, 이들은 퇴계의 학맥을 계승한 영남사림이다. 이후 1749년에는 <구암집> 속집을, 1902년에는 <구암집>을 중간하였다. 이때에도 퇴계의 후손과 영남사림이 서문과 발문을 쓰는 등 문집 간행에 주도적으로 참여하였다. 이로써 한말에 사천은 서부경남지역에서 퇴계학맥을 계승한 중요한 지역으로 위상을 차지하였다.

        退溪 李滉과 그의 門徒들의 서적 간행과 書院의 기능

        This study has inquired into the method of the books publications and the use of Seowon(書院) by Yi Hwang(李滉) and his disciples. In the period of King Myeongjong(明宗代), many xylographic books(木板本) were published in the districts. Local officers carried out these fulfillments with intention. In such a case local officer inquired for his master, Yi Hwang about all process of books publications. It was based on the friendship of disciples and his master which xylographic books had been published vigorously in the 16th century. Yi Hwang set up Seowon and collected xylographic books which could be used by Sarim(士林) in the districts. In case of Baekwoondong-Seowon(白雲洞書院) a collection of books has trebled after 50 years of its establishment. The collection lists were registered the books which King had bestowed and the books which local officers had donated separately. The latter was four times more than the former in kinds. That is the evidence that books publication by local officers had been increased remarkably in the 16th century. The books which had been published most vigorously in those days were the books of Ju-Ja(朱子) and those of Jeong-Ho(程顥) and Jeong-Yi(程頤), both were the masters of Ju-Ja. Besides books were published which had been written by scholars of Sung Confucianism of Ju-Ja from Song dynasty(宋代) to Myeong dynasty(明代). In this way Yi Hwang and his disciples prepared to lay the groundwork of books culture which could comprehend Sung Confucianism of Ju-Ja in Chosun. After that in Chosun the schools of Sung Confucianism of Ju-ja built up centering around Seowon.

        Effects of Grammar Instruction in Context with Writing Practice on Students' Manuscript Writing in an EAP Course

Korean Journal of English Language and Linguistics 15-2, 149-180. The purpose of this study is to examine whether grammar instruction in context and genre-based writing practice have positive influences on writing a final presentation manuscript in an EAP (English for Academic Purposes) course. Also, in order to suggest a more practical English program which combines writing and presentation in EFL contexts, the participants’ responses toward the course were also reviewed. A total of 94 Korean university students majoring in engineering participated in the study, and the findings are as follows. First, grammar instruction in context was effective on improving the students' grammatical accuracy on the final manuscript writings in the experimental group except for 'subject-verb agreement' and 'articles,' which seem to be correlated to the negative influence of the students' L1. Second, two thirds or more of the students were satisfied with genre-based writing practice. Especially, they preferred the types of controlled writing and recombination to free writing and paraphrasing. Third, 26.6 percent of the students had difficulty following the course, which could be due to their little writing experience. Lastly, about a third of the students requested for more interactive discussion in English during manuscript writing. Based on the findings, this study provides some pedagogical suggestions for both instructors and EFL students in EAP courses.

        【연구논문】 『眉巖日記』를 통해 본 柳希春의 서적교류와 地方板本의 유통

        The research treated the publication and distribution of the local editions in the first half of SunCho(the King of the Joseon Dynasty), analyzing and investigating the 『MiAm diary』 of Yoo Hee chwun. When sees the record of book circulation in his diary, we can observes that the total 184 papers, the local editions and books published in kyoSeoGuan(printing office), was circulating. Among them, the local editions was about 111 papers and the book published in KyoSeoGuan was about 73, this shows that the former was more about 40 species of papers than the latter. That is, the local editions in the middle of the 16th century was more proportion for publishing and distributing of paper than the book published in KyoSeoGuan. The following are the recent distributing tendency of the book. The whole book was given a great deal of weight of the book of GyeongBu(經部), furthermore the local editions and the book published in KyoSeoGuan was about 30 species and 24 species respectively, the two were not significantly different. The Joseon Dynasty had a base of the Neo-Confucianism and the politics on Sarim was formed in the first half of SunCho, so the book of GyeongHak(經學) was recognized importantly on the region and the center alike. The book of SaBu(史部) was 7 sorts of the local editions, by contrast the book published in KyoSeoGuan was 14 sorts, twice the number of Sabu book. The book of GiaBu(子部) was 34 kinds of the local editions, by contrast the book published in KyoSeoGuan was 19 kinds. The local editions were twice. The book of Confucianism(儒家) in the GiaBu serves to show Yoo Hee chwun's scholastic tendency well, he has tried to sort out natural sciences(理學) focused on JuJa's Neo-Confucianism. 『HakBuTongByun(學蔀通辨)』 which was regarded as a heresy beyond JuJa’s Neo-Confucianism, published in both the locals and KyoSeoGuan. Also, 『SongKeiWonMyungLeeHakTongRok(宋季元明理學通錄)』 which was organized JuJa's Neo-Confucianism from JuJa in the NamSong(南宋) into the Ming, was published in the local. He arranged the typical write of Neo-Confucianism scholar in the Joseon, and then published the book, 『KukJoUSeangRok(國朝儒先錄)』. And he published 『SongJoSokMyungSinUnHangRok(宋朝續名臣言行錄)』, this book was updated 『MyungSinUnhangrok(名臣言行錄)』 which had human nature and natural laws the successive Neo-Confucianism scholar in the China. The collection of works of SimHak(心學) in the Ming like a HoGeoIn(胡居仁), LaHunSun(羅欽順), WangSuIn(王守仁) and so on was not distributed in the book ByulJib(別集), the result stands that Yoo Hee chwun published the book focused on GiuJa's Neo-Confucianism. After all, this shows that he played an important role in GiuJa's Neo-Confucianism focused on Neo-Confucianism in the first half of SunCho.

        소그룹쓰기활동을 통한 특수목적영어(ESP) 발표수업방안 모색

        The purpose of this study is to explore English for Specific Purposes (ESP) presentation instruction based on small group writing activities. For that purpose, the participants self-evaluated their presentation and evaluated the ESP course they took through the post questionnaire. It is to suggest the direction of ESP instruction by verifying both students’ self evaluation of their presentation and their attitudes toward the course in the long run. A total of 103 engineering students responded to the post questionnaire, and the main results are as follows. Firstly, feedback and Internet use during class resulted in students' high satisfaction in the areas of vocabulary & expressions and accuracy. Secondly, students showed the lowest satisfaction in fluency, gestures, eye contact, complexity, and pronunciation & intonation in descending order. Third, small group writing activities before presentation was satisfactory and improved students’ English proficiency. Fourth, about a third of the students required lowering the level of the course. Lastly, the teaching method applied to the course was satisfactory. Through the results of this study, it is recommended that a more appropriate model of ESP instruction suitable for EFL engineering students should be developed. 공학과 기술이 급속도로 발전하면서 특수목적영어 발표에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있고 소그룹쓰기활동 역시 학습현장에서 많이 활용되고 있지만, EFL학습자를 대상으로 하는 소그룹쓰기활동 기반의 특수목적영어 발표수업에 대한 국내 연구는 활발하지 못하다. 따라서 본 연구는 ‘공학도를 위한 실용영어’ 교양강좌 수강생 103명을 대상으로 하여, 첫째, 소그룹쓰기활동을 통한 발표 수업에 대해 사후 설문조사를 실시하여 자신의 발표를 스스로 평가하게 하였고, 둘째, 수업에 대한 수강생의 의견을 분석하여 이공계 대학생에게 필요한 특수목적영어 발표능력을 향상시킬 수 있는 수업안의 방향을 제시하고자 하였다. 본 연구의 주요한 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 수강생이 자신의 발표에 대해 만족한 영역의 순서는 ‘어휘와 표현’(73.8%), ‘열정’(68.9%), ‘시간관리’(64.1%), ‘정확성’(50.4%), ‘목소리와 속도’(40.8%)였다. 둘째, 만족도가 낮은 영역은 ‘유창성’(50.8%), ‘제스쳐’(27.2%), ‘눈맞춤’(27.2%), ‘복잡성’(24.3%), ‘발음과 억양’(20.4%)순으로 나타났다. 마지막으로, 수업에 대한 수강생의 전반적인 만족도는 매우 높았으며 개략적인 결과 분석은 다음과 같이 요약될 수 있다: 1) 수강생의 과반수(60.2%)는 발표 전 소그룹쓰기활동이 매우 적절하다고 하였고 대다수(92.2%)는 만족하였다; 2) 대다수(85.4%)는 본 강좌가 영어숙달도 향상에 도움이 되었다고 응답하였다; 3) 과반수(63.1%)가 수업의 난이도가 적절하다고 하였으나 상대적으로 36.9%의 수강생은 만족하지 못하였다; 4) 대다수(88.4%)가 교수법에 만족하였다.

        Teaching of writing through context-based explicit grammar instruction.

        오늘날 음식 만들기가 간편해졌다는 사실에는 의심의 여지가 없지만, 나는 이러한 변화가 우리의 삶을 향상시켰다고 생각하지 않는다. 인스턴트식품들은 우리의 건강에 심각한 문제를 가져왔고 엄청난 환경파괴를 초래하였다. 인스턴트식품들을 사용하여 절약한 시간이 편리한 생활을 가져왔는지는 모르지만, 인간 생활이나 자연 환경에 지금까지 끼쳐온 해와 비교를 해볼 때, 그 가치는 별 의미가 없다고 본다.Applicable levels: tertiary education, secondary education
