제주도 내 돼지 살모넬라증의 발생 양상 분석 및 병리학적 연구

Salmonella (S.) Typhimurium is highly contagious, and its infection may rapidly spread within pig populations of herd. According to the survey (1,191 pigs) from 2003 to 2012, 155 pigs (13.0%) were diagnosed as salmonellosis in Jeju. Major porcine salmonellosis cases (88.4%) were concentrated in 4- to 12-week-old weaned pigs, but 6 pigs (3.9%) under 4 weeks old were also diagnosed. Based on the histopathologic examinations, ulcerative enteritis (63.9%) in the large intestine and/or paratyphoid nodules formation (57.4%) in the liver were most prevalent lesions in porcine salmonellosis. Single infection of S. Typhimurium and mixed infection with more than 2 pathogens were detected in 38 (24.5%) and 117 (75.5%) in pigs, respectively. Co-infections of Porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus and Porcine circovirus type 2 were very common in porcine salmonellosis in Jeju and detected in 84 (54.2%) and 59 (38.1%) pigs, respectively. Based on the serotyping tests using 41 bacterial isolates, S. Typhimurium and S. Rissen were confirmed in 39 (95.1%) and 2 (4.9%) cases, respectively.

Total 160 head of porcine kidneys were examined for gross and histopathological lesions and polymerase chain reaction (PCR) for porcine circovirus type 2 (PCV-2), porcine parvovirus (PPV), Leptospira species and porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV). Grossly, 137 kidneys (85.6%) had lesions characterized by the presence of the scattered white foci. Microscopically, multifocal interstitial nephritis, which classified into 4 grades such as, no lesion (Score 0), mild lesion (Score 1), moderate lesion (Score 2) and severe chronic lesion (Score 3) with fibrosis, was observed in 159 cases (99.4%). The histopathologic mean score for multifocal interstitial nephritis was significantly different (P<0.05) between the cases of PCV-2 single infection and the cases of co-infection with PCV-2 and PPV. According to PCR evaluation, PCV-2 were detected in 73.8% (118 cases), PPV were in 66.9% (107 cases), however Leptospira spp. and PRRSV were negative in all kidneys. Both PCV-2 and PPV were detected in 52.5% (84 cases). In 84 cases co-infected with PCV-2 and PPV, the occurrence of lymphoid follicle and vasculitis were observed as 65.5% (55 cases) and 26.2% (22 cases), respectively. These results revealed that PCV-2 and PPV were major infectious agents for interstitial nephritis in slaughtered pigs, Jeju. And the histopathologic lesions of multifocal interstitial nephritis were more severe in the case co-infected with PCV-2 and PPV.

A 7-month-old brown pig with a discoid and pedunculate mass measuring $14.0{\times}12.5{\times}2.5cm$ on the skin of the right shoulder was noted at the slaughter house in Jeju. The surface of mass approximately $7{\times}4cm$ was interfaced with skin. The color of mass with firm consistency was mainly black and partially white on cut surface. Histopathologically, numerous unencapsulated endocrine-like cellular nodules of epithelioid cell type with abundant intracytoplasmic black pigment, melanin, were occupied in dermis and subcutis. Most of nodules in deep dermis were surrounded by lightly pigmented spindle cells and loose fibrous tissues. Mitotic figures were infrequently observed. The overlying epidermis was hyperplastic due to the down-growth of rete peg. Based on the gross and histopathologic findings, this case was diagnosed as cutaneous melanoma. In our best knowledge, this is the first case of swine cutaneous melanoma in Korea.
냉매 충전량의 조건 변화에 따른 냉동시스템의 성능 분석

This study is the performance variation analysis of refrigeration systems by changing the amount of refrigerant charging quantity according to adjusting the refrigerant charging 600gram, 800gram, and 1,000gram with vapor compressional refrigeration training equipment. At 600g refrigerant charging, the superheat, outlet temperature of compressor, refrigeration effect, coefficient of performance, refrigeration capacity were higher than 1,000gram refrigerant charging, while at 1,000gram refrigerant charging, evaporating and condensing pressure, compression work, were higher than 800gram refrigerant charging condition, Thus, we could see changes of the refrigeration system performance s factor the affect of amount of between resonable refrigerant charging and over charging conditions.

The KEPCO HTS power cable system of 100 m, 22.9 ㎸, 1.25 ㎄ has been installed and tested at the KEPCO's Gochang power testing center in Korea since 2006. A liquid nitrogen decompression cooling system with a cooling capacity of 3 ㎾ at 66 K and a closed-circulation system of subcooled liquid nitrogen were employed for this purpose. Several cooling characteristic tests for the system, such as cooling capacity, electrical loading, heat load, ac loss and temperature stability, were performed under several different operation conditions. In this paper, we discuss about cooling characteristics of the system.

A system for the 3-phase 100-m HTS power cable with 22.9㎸/1.25㎄ has been tested at the KEPCO뭩 Gochang power testing center since 2006. The cooling system consists of a liquid nitrogen decompression cooing system with a cooling capacity of 3㎾ at 66K and a closed circulation system of subcooled liquid nitrogen. Heat loads of the KEPCO HTS power cable system for several electrical loads were measured for investigating long-term operating performance such as cooling capacity, heat load, AC loss, temperature stability of the system.
돼지 써코바이러스 2형 및 돼지 생식기 호흡기 증후군 바이러스가 Salmonella Typhimurium 장염에 미치는 영향

Porcine circovirus type 2 (PCV2) and porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV) are known as significant immunosuppressive viruses in pigs. In this study, we investigated the correlation of PCV2 and PRRSV in enteric lesions of porcine salmonellosis. A total of 64 cases were classified into four pig groups as group A (24 cases, S. Typhimurium), group B (11 cases, S. Typhimurium+ PCV2), group C (16 cases, S. Typhimurium+PRRSV) and group D (13 cases, S. Typhimurium+ PCV2+PRRSV). Comparing with group A, ulcerative enteritis in large intestine was little more prevalent in the PCV2 infected pigs in group B and D. And lymphoid depletion in gut-associated lymphatic tissue (GALT) of large intestine was also detected in PCV2 positive group B (36.4%) and D (30.8%). According to the results of immunohistochemistry (IHC), PCV2 antigens (83.3%) were more prevalently distributed in the intestinal lesions of porcine salmonellosis than PRRSV antigens (10.3%). PCV2 were also detected in the lymphoid depleted GALT of the large intestine from 7 of the 8 pigs (87.5%), but PRRSV were not found in all cases. It may explain that PCV2 can play a certain immunological role to enhance secondary bacterial infection in porcine alimentary tracts.

We developed a space infrared cryogenic system (PSICS) for ground observation. The system is cooled down to below 80K by a stirling cryocooler in order to increase sensitivity and decrease background noise of IR sensor. From the previous thermal numerical analyses, we knew that the major heat leak is thermal radiation and the minimizing heat leak by radiation is the core technique in this system. The thermal design of the PSICS have been performed and presented at 2005 KSME conferences. In this paper, the results of the cooling test and thermal insulation effects of multi-layer insulation are discussed.
공냉식 증발기 팬의 동작 유·무에 대한 냉동시스템 성능분석

This study is that by using gas compression type refrigeration trainer, analysed factor which affect to performance of refrigeration system between evaporator fan operating and not operating condition at the low temperature operating condition of low pressure side. At the evaporator fan operating condition, which is normal heat exchanging situation of refrigerant, analysing study result are high level conditions of condensing pressure, evaporating pressure, flash gas heat, and specially observed too high level of superheat. At the evaporator fan not operating condition, analysing research result are high level of refrigeration effect. coefficient of performance(COP), low level of compression work and wet compression work. By conducting this study, had result that refrigerator operating performance have been big affected by condition between evaporator fan operating and not operating at the air cooled refrigeration system.
